They posted the pictures of the 13 service members who have died so far in Operation Epic Fury, saying, "We honor the American heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in Trump's war with Iran." They repeated over pictures, "Remembering the Americans who have died in Trump's war with Iran." You have to wonder what they were thinking, whoever the person was behind that post. Since the start of President Donald Trump’s second term, Congress has passed only one major piece of legislation. While the “One Big Beautiful Bill” was a notable accomplishment, it should not have been the only legislative victory for the Republican Congress. During the same period of President Joe Biden’s administration, a Democratic-led Congress passed four major pieces of legislation: the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, the CHIPS Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act.

Memorial Day exists for one reason: to honor the men and women who died in service to this country. It is a solemn, sacred day, the one day a year we set aside not to celebrate veterans broadly, but to mourn and remember those who gave everything.
