Redistricting debate shifts to South Carolina
as Republicans seek clean sweep of US

COLUMBIA, S.C.— An effort to reshape South Carolina’s congressional districts will get its first full airing Monday in the state House, as lawmakers launch a lengthy and potentially testy discussion on whether to accede to President Donald Trump’s desires for a U.S. House map that could yield a clean sweep for Republicans. Tense debates already have played out in Tennessee, Alabama and Louisiana as Republicans push aggressively to leverage a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that weakened Voting Rights Act protections for minority districts. The ruling has opened the way for Republicans to redraw districts with large Black populations that have elected Democrats.

Clyburn says he lives in 3 different districts?! Isn't that against the law? I thought you have one primary address and that is your district. he can't pick and choose where he is going to run...

According to the article, Clyburn says he'll run for re-election. I guess it will be his decision based on where he thinks he has the best chance. And I'll give the devil his due here. Ol' Jim is going to go in front of the voters, make his case, and see what happens. Lots of other Dems are crying, moaning, and pulling out of their races because they aren't getting to run in their fixed, hand-picked districts. And anyway, it's supposed to be a great year for Democrats, right?

I wonder what James Clyburn has on the Republicans in S.C. so as he can keep his seat. He is a powerful influencer in the demo-rat circle. If it weren't for this man, Biden wouldn't have been elected.

Nine connected Polymarket accounts have raked in more than $2.4 million betting almost exclusively on U.S. military actions in what digital detectives from the data analytics firm Bubblemaps have identified as a potentially egregious case of insider trading. The anonymous accounts made winning bets on the specific dates of pivotal moments in the war with Iran: the first U.S. strikes, the removal of Iran's supreme leader, and the announcement of a ceasefire.

California has this really great knack for taking a simple problem and turning it into a government-funded disaster that costs millions, helps pretty much nobody, and still gets sold back to the public as a success. The latest example of this is a state program that was supposed to help children get hearing aids. Pretty basic stuff, right? Kids need to hear, families need help, and the state claims it has a solution… Boy, we’re they wrong. And when you look at these shocking numbers, the whole mess feels like a full-blown money laundering scheme. Just another bloated California scam,

Parents could now face jail time if their child takes part in the often rowdy “teen takeovers” in D.C. The word came Friday as President Donald Trump’s administration announced its biggest summer crime crackdown ever in the nation’s capital.“Starting today, my office will aggressively prosecute parents under D.C.’s curfew law,” said U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro. The city’s top prosecutor explained that the under existing law, it’s illegal for an adult to allow a minor to take part in delinquent acts. “If the evidence shows the parent knew, or should have known or permitted, or failed to prevent participation, we’re going to charge them,” Pirro said.

Global elites have shoved “diversity is our strength” down everyone’s collective throats as if people are interchangeable little widgets with no history, roots, culture, and no right to care about the character of their own neighborhoods and country.(snipWhen people feel unheard, they get mad. When they’re told their concerns make them bigots, they get madder. And when every reasonable objection gets shoved into the “you’re a racist” box, they start fighting back. That’s what happened in Lancaster County, South Carolina, where a proposed mosque became the center of a heated fight. In the end, the county denied the permit, but that only happened because the residents literally revolted.

Birthright citizenship, girls sports, the definition of Election Day, and other hot-button topics are on the line in upcoming Supreme Court decisions. The court’s 2025–2026 term is expected to end in June with a series of rulings that could impact social issues and President Donald Trump’s agenda. The last scheduled oral argument was held on April 29; the justices considered whether Trump wrongfully terminated deportation protections for thousands of Haitian and Syrian nationals. That decision and a ruling on Trump’s order restricting birthright citizenship could influence immigration policy for decades to come.

It’s hard to succeed without teeth. So, we need to offer comprehensive healthcare for these individuals.”

For a sense of how bereft the Democrats are of credible leaders and sensible policy ideas all one has to do is listen to the remarks of former Vice President Kamala Harris on the Win with Black Women podcast. She proposed a “no bad ideas brainstorm” in which Democrats would discuss “What we need to do, and think about doing, around the Electoral College … expanding the Supreme Court … statehood for Puerto Rico and D.C.” Harris, whom most polls of Democrat voters show as the front-runner for their party’s 2028 presidential nomination, said this as if offering fresh ideas.

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was lampooned on social media for using a bulletproof shield on wheels while delivering a race-baiting rant on “voting rights.” The clown show unfolded Saturday at a rally in Montgomery, Alabama, where the Bronx Bolshevik tried to incite left-wing outrage following a Supreme Court decision repudiating race-based congressional redistricting as unconstitutional. The most notable part of AOC’s staged stunt was her absurd use of a portable bulletproof glass panel divider. “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez champions defunding the police, open borders, and abolishing ICE, yet she shields herself behind bulletproof glass,” one X commenter wrote. “The hypocrisy is hard to ignore.”

Naturally, many Americans will ask how an outbreak of Ebola in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) could possibly necessitate the World Health Organization (WHO) assuring the world that it is in imminent danger of Ebola contagion. Three suspects, including two teenagers, committed a staggering 12 shootings in the Austin area over the weekend. The Texas governor wants to see them behind bars for a long time, instead of released as “misguided minors” to shoot more people. The 15-year-old stole his gun on Saturday from the exact same store where the 17-year-old accomplice had already stolen a firearm. There was a warrant out for the latter’s arrest over the theft. ABC7 KATV did not provide names for any of the suspects, but merely said that the third suspect fled the vehicle when officers stopped it to arrest the teenagers. Cohen (D-Tenn.), the sole Democrat in Tennessee’s congressional delegation, lamented the Republicans’ revamping of the Volunteer State’s 9th district, which is majority minority, and railed against redistricting as “bad for democracy.” “I’m upset by this,” the now-outgoing Democrat bemoaned to NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo on Friday. “And I don’t get the criticism of stand and fight.” Why would you fight when they changed the district and there aren’t enough votes for you to win? That’s silly.” Cohen, who has repped the Memphis-centered district since 2007,
