The Supreme Court's bombshell ruling striking down racial gerrymandering under the Voting Rights Act sent shockwaves through the political landscape this week — and Southern Republican governors wasted no time acting on it. For Democrats, who have spent years leaning on race-based district engineering to protect their congressional seats, the timing couldn't be worse. Alabama and Tennessee both called special legislative sessions on Friday to redraw their congressional maps, and the dominoes are already starting to fall across the South. Alabama Gov. Looks like the perfect storm is hitting the Democrats. Let's hope the Republicans don't pull defeat from the jaws of victory.

Glad that the governors are getting into the game. Pre-Trump, they would have been intimidated by the threat of lawsuits.

Finally. For years we have had to look at districts on a map that looked like tortured, twisted snakes drawn for political reasons. it's unconstitutional no matter which party does it or which group. The Democrats are still trying to do what amounts to the same thing by trying to make Puerto Rico and DC states....four more Senators for the Democrats. If you can't win an honest election, then steal votes and cheat in any way possible. Illegals and non-citizens are already voting, encouraged and abetted by the Democrat Party. Total control and total power is what they seek and they will do anything to achieve it including stirring up the loons to kill "Hitler".

There are 61 Blacks elected to the House in the current Congress. That is 14% - exactly their proportion in the US population. They are not being underrepresented. 57 of the 61 are Democrats. It can be argued (this has been analyzed) that up to 50 of these 57 districts have been drawn in violation of the recent SCOTUS ruling. All 50 should be contested in court to see what sticks. Blue or Red state doesn't matter.

US President Donald Trump on Sunday rejected Iran’s latest proposal to end its war with the US and Israel, calling it unacceptable. The 14-point proposal reportedly includes multiple stages of negotiations, with the sides first bringing the fighting to a close and opening the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days. The US and Iran would only later begin talks on Tehran’s nuclear program, according to reports on the Iranian terms. The offer also reportedly floats an up to 15-year freeze on nuclear enrichment, followed by curbs on the program. “It’s not acceptable to me. I’ve studied it, I’ve studied everything – it’s not acceptable,”

Sometimes you have to wonder what the point of fighting the decline of Western Civilization is. It seems inevitable, and enough people seem to tolerate it that it's easy to think about giving up, moving someplace where the deterioration will take longer or be avoided by a large enough concentration of people who share our values, so sanity will prevail. I continue to believe this attitude is wrong, morally, strategically, and tactically. It may be tempting to go down that path, but we are not put on this Earth to do easy things; we are put here to do important things, which are often hard.

Spirit Airlines has ceased operations. Now you may not care because you didn't fly Spirit, and have heard a lot of bad things about the airline, or more specifically, the behavior of its customers, but you should. Thousands of people are going to lose their jobs, and ticket prices on all airlines are going to skyrocket. My wife and I were regular flyers on Spirit, and we actually found that it was not only much cheaper than the alternatives, but a better flying experience as well. We didn't mind the "pick what services you want" model of pricing, which so many complained about, because the pricing

We were originally referred to as "baby boomers," the generation born in the immediate aftermath of World War II. From 1946 to 1964, the U.S. Census Bureau tells us that more than 76 million babies were born. Why 1964 as a cutoff point? That's the year that the birth control pill was introduced in the U.S., and the birth rate began to decline. Today, we're simply referred to as "Boomers." We grew up in a period of massive wealth creation, painful social change, and the specter of nuclear annihilation hanging over our heads. In 1973, when Nixon was winding down the Vietnam War, Congress enacted the War Powers Resolution. The Democrats backing the resolution held veto-proof majorities in both chambers of Congress. Nixon’s veto was symbolic only. The Resolution puts the president on a clock: He has 48 hours after initiating an armed conflict to notify Congress, and after 60 days, unless Congress gives him permission, he must end the military action. Today, President Trump has declared war on the War Powers Resolution, saying that Congress cannot constrain his constitutional role as commander in chief and executive over foreign policy.

The United States has been reassessing the force strength our military maintains around the world, under Secretary of War Pete Hegseth in President Trump's second term, and it is now acting on that review, according to new reporting on Friday: President Trump ordered the Pentagon on Friday to withdraw about 5,000 U.S. service members from Germany amid his public feud with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The redeployment of troops will bring the number of service members roughly to pre-2022 levels and will affect a brigade combat team and potentially other U.S. forces already in Germany, according to a senior Pentagon official.

Maybe it’s just my suspicious, pessimistic nature. But the conservative websites and forums I surf have been emitting a strange “vibe” these last few days. The Trump assassination attempt details are discussed, and anger is vented. But, there seems to be little contemplation of what this latest attack on Trump portends for MAGA’s future. Even MSM news lacks its usual frenzy of event details, witness interviews, and background on the shooter, his friends, and family. Basic details are described, then ignored. They’ve mostly abandoned “if it bleeds, it leads” reporting to increase audience size. Minimal muckraking on the shooter. Minimal finger-pointing on failed responsibilities,

It's an excellent piece, of course, but the subject bears even more discussion. Mills was the hand-picked candidate of Chuck Schumer, who will himself likely be booted from his formerly safe New York Senate seat by a socialist candidate. As the Senate Minority Leader, he should have had all the cards, or more specifically, all the money in the world, to help Mills get over the finish line. A large Roman Catholic diocese pushed back at criticism Friday after Pope Leo XIV appointed a former illegal immigrant as a bishop amid heightened tensions between the Vatican and Washington over refugees and ICE enforcement. Leo nominated Bishop Evelio Menjivar-Ayala as bishop of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, which covers all of West Virginia. Menjivar-Ayala originally arrived in San Ysidro, California, smuggled in a car trunk after making several prior attempts as a teenager to flee guerrilla war-torn El Salvador. The bishop has also been critical of increased immigration enforcement measures, calling them a human rights concern and responding directly to critiques of the church from fellow Catholics in the Trump administration ...

Most people in America today, having been the unwitting victims of a quarter-century of propaganda, assume that Islam, like all other religions, is peaceful and benign, beneficial to both individuals and societies, albeit “hijacked” at the hands of a “tiny minority of extremists,” the likes of which we see in all religious traditions. Yet the constant drumbeat continues: there are jihad attacks around the world virtually every day, and increasingly in the United States. All of their perpetrators insist they acted in accord with Islamic teachings. There is a distressingly

The threat elevation signals that a terrorist attack is now considered highly likely, per Counter Terrorism Policing. On April 30, the UK’s Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre raised the national threat level from “substantial” to “SEVERE.” Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood confirmed the change,
