Saturday, following reports of an apparent assassination attempt on President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, CNN’s Van Jones raised the possibility of the suspect being made into “some sort of hero.”
The left-leaning Jones cited efforts to lionize Luigi Mangione, and he urged all to condemn political violence.
Jones said, “I’m starting to worry about something, though, which is that the shooter survived, which means on Monday he’s going to court, which means there is a danger that people try to make him some sort of hero. You watch what happened with Luigi [Mangione], who shot a CEO to death and somehow became a hero.

Prominent voices on the left have been branding their opponents as Nazis, “literally Hitler,” pedophiles, or “a threat to democracy.” This inflammatory language dehumanizes entire groups, paints targets on people’s backs, erodes civil discourse, and creates a climate where violence is viewed as justifiable.
When rhetoric escalates to open calls for harm, the consequences are deadly: attempted assassinations of President Trump, the 2017 shooting of Republican congressmen at baseball practice, the murder of Charlie Kirk, and assaults on pro-life activists. Leftists are normalizing the violence against Republicans.

Both President Donald Trump and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass came out of meetings in April expressing optimism that the federal government will come to the aid of the feckless and duplicitous mayor and attempt to help further jumpstart the recovery of the Palisades after the devastating 2025 fire wiped out just about everything.
According to NBC Los Angeles, Bass said “that she feels optimistic that the Trump administration will send more resources the city needs to recover from the 2025 Palisades Fire after meeting with him and his key advisors in the Oval Office.”

famous saying of Anton Chekhov’s has been making the rounds. “If you say in the first chapter that there is a rifle hanging on the wall,” Chekhov advised, “in the second or third chapter it absolutely must go off. If it’s not going to be fired, it shouldn’t be hanging there.”
I wonder if the thugs and theocrats who have been plundering Iran for the last 47 years have read Chekhov. If so, I conclude that they are slow learners. In January, the Iranian authorities slaughtered more than 40,000 protesters—

President Trump has called off sending a US delegation to Pakistan Saturday for peace talks with Iran – nixing a trip he said would be a waste of time.
Trump, who told a Post reporter in Islamabad to “come home” shortly after he made the announcement, said his team was wasting too much time on traveling.
“I just cancelled the trip of my representatives going [to] Islamabad, Pakistan, to meet with the Iranians,” the president posted on Truth Social Saturday afternoon. “Too much time wasted on traveling, too much work! Besides which, there is tremendous infighting and confusion within their ‘leadership.’

President Donald Trump called on Americans to “recommit” to resolve their differences peacefully after a shooter disrupted the White House Correspondents Dinner Saturday evening.
The Secret Service took a gunman into custody after he ran past a security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton. The gunman shot a Secret Service agent, but did not wound him, before law enforcement subdued him and took him into custody.
“As you know, this is not the first time in the past couple of years that our republic has been attacked by a would-be assassin who sought to kill,” the president said in a press conference after announcing that law enforcement had apprehended the shooter.

Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, a Republican, is launching a redistricting effort in the state.
"I’m calling a special session. During the recently completed regular session, the Legislature discussed drawing new maps to comply with a decision from a federal judge from the Northern District of Mississippi - a decision that has been appealed to the 5th Circuit and the appeal has been heretofore stayed pending future U.S. Supreme Court decisions," Reeves wrote on X on Friday.
"The entire world knows the Callais decision has not yet been handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court. It is a decision that could (and in my view should)—

President Donald Trump on Saturday night shrugged off another shooting incident targeting an event he was attending, imploring Americans to settle their differences peacefully after a lone gunman disrupted the annual White House correspondent's dinner where the nation's leaders were in attendance,
Still dressed in his tuxedo from the event, Trump said he would not be deterred from attending the dinner when it is rescheduled and praised law enforcement from stopping the lone gunman from California before he could cause others harm.

The DC Metropolitan Police announced during a press conference on Saturday night that the armed gunman who opened fire inside the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was a registered guest at the Washington Hilton hotel, the venue hosting the high-profile black-tie event attended by President Donald Trump.
Speaking after the event, interim DC Police Chief Jeffery Carroll confirmed the suspect, 31-year-old Cole Tomas Allen of Torrance, California, had checked into the hotel as a guest before the chaos erupted.

President Donald Trump survived two assassination attempts during the 2024 election, and Saturday night he was whisked away again from another lethal threat when a heavily armed gunman briefly breached a security checkpoint at one of Washington's most famous black-tie galas and exchanged gunfire before being subdued by the Secret Service.
But Trump would not recoil.
First he wanted to return to the White House Correspondents' Dinner before it was canceled, hoping to send a signal to a nation gripped by political vitriol and shaken by recent assassinations — from Charlie Kirk to Minnesota legislators – that “sick people” cannot “change the fabric” of the United States.

That description comes from Chamath Palihapitiya, a venture capitalist, and relates to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) which was just indicted by a federal grand jury in Alabama.
The SPLC formed years ago to seek damages for KKK victims. Over the years it amassed a fortune and used it and its connections with the media and the Democrats unfairly to tar and ruin the livelihoods and reputations of individuals and organizations with which it disagreed -- including groups like Moms for Liberty and Parents Defending Education. The switch proved immensely profitable.

President Donald Trump has already released photos and surveillance footage of the shooter at the White House correspondents’ dinner, emphasizing the importance of transparency at this time.
The president confirmed during a press conference late on Saturday evening that the shooter was a man from California, that he was in federal custody, and that the video on the president's account does show him rushing a security checkpoint in the Washington Hilton hotel. Trump did not say specifically if the name released on several websites is the shooter's name, all PJ Media can confirm at this time are the photos and videos below.

In the immediate aftermath following the apparent assassination attempt against President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday evening, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency was quick to question whether the shooting was staged.
Tasnim, which has close ties with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), suggested that the shooting at the Hilton Hotel in Washington, D.C., as the Correspondents Dinner was commencing, may have been a “big show” intended to bolster President Trump’s approval ratings.
The news agency speculated that it could have been staged to improve President Trump’s position ahead of the upcoming mid-term elections or perhaps to “use it against Iran or another country”.

President Donald Trump was whisked out of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner after shots were fired in the vicinity. A mind boggling point from Adrian Vermuelue. Judge Richard Leon, appointed to the DC District Court by George W. Bush, ordered construction of the ballroom project and underground security bunker blocked, writing in his order that Trump’s team had “not provided any national security justification for why these features must be installed immediately.” Yes, this judge does not believe their is an inherent risk to the leader of the free world great enough to justify
