Not satisfied with destroying Chicago, Democrats in the state want to make sure all Illinoisans suffer. A new bill would override local laws and force access for homeless encampments in all public parks.
Wirepoints notes that under House Bill 1429, the Local Regulation of Unsheltered Homelessness Act, local towns, park districts, cities, forest preserves, and all other municipalities of any kind “would have their home rule authority on the matter stripped away.” Per Wirepoints: It’s House Bill 1429, the Local Regulation of Unsheltered Homelessness Act, which says local governments wouldn’t be able to establish or enforce a rule fining or criminally punishing homeless people for participating in “life sustaining activities.”

A bill that would pause the issuance of H-1B visas for three years to reform the program for when it resumes has been introduced by Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ) and co-sponsored by a half dozen other House Republicans.
The proposal, introduced Wednesday, would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 to bring the H1-B program back from hiatus with a series of dramatic changes in an aim to better protect American workers — and would rotate the current crop of visaholders out of the U.S. during the pause.
The cap on visas issued would be reduced from 65,000 to 25,000, the existing exemptions to the cap would be eliminated, and the

What do a university professor, a celebrity barber and a professional football player have in common?
All three bought new, six-figure luxury sports cars and lived lavish lifestyles — while collecting food stamps.
How on earth can these “welfare recipients” purchase high-end vehicles while remaining on the dole?
Thanks to a federal loophole known as Broad-Based Categorical Eligibility.
The Clinton administration manufactured this loophole, and the Obama administration supercharged it.
Currently, 43 states and Washington, DC, use BBCE to bypass federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program eligibility limits on income, assets or both.

A federal appeals court on Wednesday blocked enforcement of a California law that would have required federal immigration officers, including ICE agents, to unmask and wear visible identification during operations in the state.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted the United States’ motion for an injunction pending appeal. The court ruled that Section 10 of the No Vigilantes Act (S.B. 805) “attempts to directly regulate the United States in its performance of governmental functions,” violating the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution.
California, Governor Gavin Newsom, and Attorney General Rob Bonta are now enjoined from applying or enforcing the provision against federal agencies and officers.

A circuit court in Virginia just ruled that the newly passed but incredibly biased gerrymandered congressional map is unconstitutional.
Former Virginia attorney general and Homeland Security official Ken Cuccinelli II posted on X Wednesday about the gerrymandered map, "UPDATE on referendum lawsuits: The Tazewell Circuit Court just ruled the referendum unconstitutional. The Judge entered an injunction blocking certification of the election & denied a motion to stay pending appeal. A final order will be entered once drafted, & it will be immediately appealed." The new map would almost certainly hand ten out of eleven congressional districts to Democrat control. This would impact not only Virginia, therefore, but the Republican-Democrat balance

"Alligator Alcatraz," an immigration detention center in the Florida Everglades, can remain open, an appeals court ruled on Tuesday, upholding its earlier decision to block a judge's order for the facility to wind down operations for failing to comply with federal environmental law. In a 2-1 decision, the majority on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals found the state-run facility was not under federal control and was not subject to federal law requiring an environmental impact review.
"Florida, not federal, officials constructed the facility," the majority wrote. "They control the land and 'entirely' built the facility at state expense."
The legal dispute centers in part on the National Environmental Policy Act

A Virginia County Court on Wednesday barred certification of the state's redistricting referendum, pending appeal, according to former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli and state Rep. Wren Williams, R-Va.
The Tazewell County Circuit Court issued the injunction barring certification. The order will face certain appeal and likely head to the state Supreme Court, which is already expected to address a challenge to the referendum.

An EPA rule issued during former President Joe Biden’s administration has forced a top U.S. truck manufacturer to halt production and delay the release of new diesel trucks, according to a letter exclusively obtained by the Daily Caller.
Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc., a subsidiary of Japanese automobile manufacturer Isuzu Motors Ltd., has been the top-selling low-cab forward commercial truck brand in the U.S. since 1986, with several models including the N-Series Diesel and N-Series Gas, as well as the F-Series, which runs on a Cummins B6.7L diesel engine. But a 2022 Biden-era EPA emissions regulation, which requires heavy-duty commercial vehicles to limit

California Governor Gavin Newsom covertly spent $1 billion importing 400,000 migrants from poor countries to serve the state’s Democratic political machine and elite-dominated economy, according to data provided by the Manhattan Institute in New York.
“Since Newsom took office, California has granted massive contracts for migrant-related services: more than $250 million to Catholic Charities; $85 million to Jewish Family Services; $12 million to Centro Legal de la Raza; $23 million to the Immigration Institute of the Bay Area; and more,” according to an article by Christopher Rufe in City Journal.
The funding is in addition to California’s share of the massive federal funding directed by President Joe Biden’s pro-migration

We all remember during the 2016 Presidential campaign, when former President Barack Obama was asked about blue-collar jobs that continued to go overseas. He stated matter-of-factly that “some of those jobs of the past are just not going to come back," and even added a bit of snark, saying of then-candidate Donald Trump, who had promised a revival of manufacturing jobs, “There’s no answer to it. . . . What magic wand do you have?” Well, like a lot of other things, turns out we didn't need a magic wand, just a new President. On Wednesday, beer giant Anheuser-Busch (AB) announced it would be expanding on its promise to

The Supreme Court is notoriously hard to crack.
But now a bombshell new book is exposing the secret goings-on behind the scenes, including scathing tales about Justices from their former staff.
In her forthcoming book, Alito: The Justice Who Reshaped the Supreme Court and Restored the Constitution, conservative journalist and author Mollie Hemingway lifts the lid on the justices' treatment of clerks.
The book is focused on Justice Samuel Alito - who has been the author of opinions defending gun rights and limiting the power of labor unions during his time on the bench and has recently been rumored to be mulling an exit from the Supreme Court.

Who will replace former Rep. Eric Swalwell? It won’t be some white guy. Here’s the list of candidates.
In attendance were Democrats Aisha Wahab, Melissa Hernandez, Carin Elam, Rakhi Israni and Matt Ortega, as well as Republican Wendy Huang. Dublin resident Dena Maldonado, a Republican on the ballot, bowed out Sunday afternoon. San Leandro City Councilmember Victor Aguilar Jr., a Democrat, and newcomer Suzanne Chenault, listed with no party preference, did not respond to invitations to join the debate.
Aisha Wahab, an Afghan Muslim, appears to have the inside track and is holding the process ‘hostage’.
