Dems Scramble After California Governor's
Debate Implodes

Original Article

Steve Hilton, the leading candidate for governor despite his status as an unapologetic Republican in blue California, called it a perfect metaphor for the state's spate of recent failures. (snip) the University of Southern California abruptly canceled its televised gubernatorial debate last Monday (snip) Those invited included (snip) Steve Hilton (snip), Chad Bianco (snip), Rep. Eric Swalwell, (snip) Katie Porter, (snip) Tom Steyer and (snip) Matt Mahan. (snip) Under California's "top two" primary system, only the two candidates with the most votes regardless of party, will advance to the general election. Democrats are deeply concerned that Hilton and Bianco are poised to do so (snip.)

Comments:

The real issue here is the Democrat establishment's desire to prematurely narrow the field of Democrat candidates so that neither Republican (Hilton or Bianco) appears on the November ballot. Most Californians have yet to focus on the June 2 primary election, yet USC proposed to anoint four Democrats and exclude three candidates largely on the basis of notoriety purchased with large amounts of campaign cash. (Mahan, the establishment's "great 'moderate' hope", like the excluded candidates polls only in the single digits but was included solely based on his large campaign war-chest.) The whole purpose of debates is to even the playing field between well and poorly funded candidates and give merit a chance to shine. Significantly, the three excluded candidates include a former mayor of California's largest city (Villagairosa) and the only two candidates in the race who have won and held significant statewide elective offices (Yee and Thurmond). The real culprit is California's Jungle Primary, a hangover from Schwarzenegger era.

The Democrats were not concerned when only Democrats advanced to the general election. The Democrats changed to this system to preserve forever Democrat rule. I hope they get what they deserve for this corruption.

Latino, Black, Asian and Pacific Islander, Native American, LGBTQ, Jewish, and women’s caucuses in writing a letter to USC President Beong-Soo Kim demanding that they change their “biased criteria.” All these voting blocs want their own candidate. Makes the Tower of Babel sound like a symphony in comparison.

It's hilarious when democrats screw up things so badly that they find themselves on the outside looking in with no pony in the race. Their only strategy seems to be to complain about Trump and that gets them absolutely nothing. Everything they attempt to do seems to end in complete failure, like someone running a footrace and falling on their face in the dirt right out of the gate and unable to continue. Add in to that, when you take a hard look back for the last couple decades, all the dem "accomplishments" are dust in the wind. Yet, as their failures rise to the height of a mountain, they keep claiming they are the only ones who know what to do. It's a form of insanity.

This week we learned that the probe into the Russian conspiracy theory in Florida is moving forward with the disclosure that former FBI Director James Comey has been subpoenaed. What is different in this probe is that it is pursuing the real Russia conspiracy -- the creation of a narrative to kneecap the first Trump administration. Headed by (snip) the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, the investigation is building on information uncovered by House and Senate committee that was buried by the Biden administration. That evidence appears to show a knowing effort to manufacture a Russian conspiracy hoax at the urging of Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, a leading Republican gubernatorial candidate, held a press conference Friday morning to expose what he described as repeated attempts by Attorney General Rob Bonta to intimidate and derail his office's investigation into a massive 45,896-ballot discrepancy in the November 2025 Proposition 50 special election. Bianco detailed a stunning mismatch uncovered through an audit of handwritten logs maintained by the Riverside County Registrar of Voters: county records show just 611,428 ballots cast. Yet Secretary of State Shirley Weber certified 657,322 votes to the state -- a gap neither Bonta nor Weber ever publicly questioned or explained.

President Donald Trump’s tariffs on imported goods suffered a Supreme Court legal rebuke in late February, but they’re not doing much better in the court of public opinion. As the latest I&I/TIPP shows, a plurality of voters don’t believe the economy will get a boost from tariffs, which win strong majority support only from Republicans. It was once the case that most conservatives and many moderates rejected tariffs on imported goods as an unwanted distortion of free trade. Meanwhile, liberals embraced tariffs as a welcome tool of government “industrial policy.” But President Trump has flipped the script.
