A newly released document from Sen. Chuck Grassley adds a significant and troubling dimension to what was previously known about the conduct of former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith, a central figure in the surveillance of Trump campaign associates in the Russia Collusion investigation. (snip) The new information shows that his misconduct was not limited to a single target, but (snip) extended to another investigation against Trump adviser Walid Phares. (snip) it had become obvious that (snip) there was no case against him. (snip) Despite this, Clinesmith (snip) prevented these conclusions from being sent to the DOJ officials responsible for (snip) FISA renewal applications.

Comments:

Clinesmith was found guilty of forging a document supporting a FISA application to surveil Carter Page yet was sentenced to only a year's probation by Judge Boasberg and not disciplined at all by the DC Bar. Boasberg was a judge on the FISA court when Clinesmith submitted the forged document in support of renewed surveillance of Carter Page. As FISA surveillance powers are once again up for renewal, Judge Boasberg's actions in the Clinesmith case make it difficult to take the FISA Court's supposed role as a defender of civil liberties seriously.

So, basically Dunham was, at best, an unknowing stooge for the Deep State. At worst, he only did the absolute minimum to make it look like "something was done."

Put that POS under the courthouse this time! Go get Durham as well for his part of the conspiracy! Correct me if I'm wrong but I think if we charge conspiracy the 5 year limitation is null and void.

Roughly 200,000 immigrant truck drivers in the United States are set to lose their commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) this week under a new Trump administration rule that went into effect Monday to keep illegal immigrants off the road. Under the rule, non-citizens, including asylum seekers, refugees, and recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), will no longer be eligible to obtain CDLs, even if they are legally authorized to work in the United States. Those who already hold licenses will not be able to renew them when they expire.

A Minnesota state senator recently took to social media to voice her concerns with her party's caucus and convention process, alleging "deeply troubling incidents" that "undermine the rules of the process." As I have reported for months, the Trump Department of Justice is having a hell of a time securing criminal indictments from D.C.-based grand juries. (snip) Which is why the issuance of two grand jury subpoenas in January related to the DOJ's investigation into the Federal Reserve represented a major score for Jeanine Pirro (snip.) According to a filing by Pirro's office, Powell's personal attorney (snip) suggested to (Pirro) that Chair Powell would step down from the board when his term as Chairman expires -- but only if the subpoenas were withdrawn and the chair was no longer under investigation (snip.) Did that suggestion rise to obstruction or even bribery?

Analysts inside the U.S. intelligence community sought to conceal evidence of Chinese influence efforts from President Donald Trump during the 2020 election, with analysts saying they didn't want their intel used by "that vulgarian in the Oval Office" to pursue policies toward China they personally disagreed with. The revelation is found within a January 2021 report written by (snip) analytic ombudsman Barry Zulauf, who conducted a review of the spy community's handling of Russian versus Chinese meddling efforts during the 2020 election. Silicon Valley was energized by legal immigrants from all over the world who founded ebay, Google, Nvidia, Space, Stripe, Sun Microsystems, Tesla, Yahoo, and a host of others. The Greek American Elia Kazan's 1963 film "America, America" is a fictional account based on the Herculean struggle of the director's uncle to immigrate to the United States from an impoverished and hostile Anatolia. The film summed up Americans' traditional view of immigrants: They had risked everything for the chance to reach America, and, once there, became hyperpatriotic in their gratitude for the magnanimity of their new hosts.

Arkansas GOP Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Thursday that she was asked to leave a restaurant in Little Rock last week because her presence made employees and customers feel "threatened." Given Iran’s half century of cruel barbarism in the Middle East, it’s hard to understand why the Democrats seem to be rooting for them in the current war. I have two theories. One is the obvious one. The Dems are not so much rooting for Iran, as rooting against Iran’s enemy. Bad as Iran is, its enemy is even worse in the eyes of the Dems. Iran’s enemy, you see – or at least the Dems see – has a history of its own cruel barbarism going back to at least 1619. Iran’s enemy has engaged in genocide against native people. Iran’s enemy has wrongly oppressed workers of the world

California lawmakers said Thursday they planned to change the name of “César Chavez Day” to “Farmworkers Day” after sexual abuse allegations against the late civil rights leader arose earlier this week. The New York Times reported Wednesday that Chavez had groomed and sexually abused young girls within the labor rights movement while he served as leader of the United Farm Workers Union. One of those women was Dolores Huerta, who co-founded the union with Chavez in 1962. Huerta came forward this week with allegations that she was victimized by Chavez in her 30s.

Certainly I work in an Australian university where the extent of higher-ups pushing this notion does indeed qualify as unrelenting, even matching totalitarian state levels of propaganda. But even outside the hallowed halls of impartial, politically balanced academia (did I write that with a straight face?) the mantra or cliché that diversity somehow delivers a stronger balance sheet or a more cohesive society or just better outcomes is pervasive in today’s democracies that have committed themselves to multiculturalism and to the various neo-Marxist versions of feminism. In 2022, California Gov. Gavin Newsom broke ground on the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing (WAWC), a project featuring an overpass for animals atop ten lanes of the 101 Freeway in Southern California. At the ceremony, Newsom boasted that the state had committed $54 million. He promised to “complete the job within another $10 million,” before seeming to hedge on whether that final sum would do the trick. Officials projected a 2025 completion date for the overpass, and estimated that the entire project — which includes the bridge and other ancillary developments — would cost $92 million, some of it coming from private philanthropists.

There are few things worse than someone who has had everything handed to them who acts like they’ve somehow earned all of it.
