Polls show that more than eight of 10 voters want President Trump to focus on the economy in his State of the Union speech. That’s a good idea, and Trump should tout a series of amazing economic and financial accomplishments. Stock market at near all-time highs, inflation cut in half, real incomes up, middle class savings from the big beautiful tax bill, gas prices down, and energy production up. Private employment is up, while government employment is down. Retirement savings for American families (including 401k plans) are up almost $22,000 on average, more than reversing the losses from the Biden years when runaway inflation

None of these folks get it. Until grocery prices start going down, the rest is irrelevant. You can tout whatever statistics you want to, but people judge the economy from their kitchen table. Trump’s folks need to go grocery shopping, not just look at charts and read spreadsheets.

Grocery prices ARE effectively going down because wages are rising and taxes are being cut. While the actual price on the grocery item may not drop, the effective cost is less. PLUS, once energy costs fall further, the cost of groceries WILL drop because the cost of energy is a component of EVERYTHING in the economy. Biden baked high costs into the economy because he borrowed money that has still not been paid back. The borrowed money was spent, wasted on Leftist stupidity and corruption. Over time, the cuts Trump has put in place and the strengthening economy will reduce the debt and trim the impact of Biden's borrowing. Everything is headed in the right direction. Some of the damage done is going to take some time to fully fix.

From early look at the chamber, it appears that the Democratic women got a special deal down at the KKK store. Maybe some of them got the special price on white pantsuits from the lesbian wedding store. Or maybe Hillary had a garage sale.

The economic state of the union includes the big picture items that affect prices from all different directions. Illegal immigration has been the affordability killer since Biden "took" office. When you have high energy and transportation prices, inefficient regulations and theft, graft and corruption around every corner, parasitic people taking a large chunk off the top, all of it adds costs to the actual products that are produced, starting with raw materials to processing, packaging, transportation to the retail outlets that set the final prices. Besides food, there is abnormally high real estate, rent, automotive, education, medical, government, all pitted against stagnant incomes of working people. The price you pay for eggs and butter is affected by all of the above.

Let me guess. The people still complaining about the prices of groceries have NOT stopped getting their acrylic nails done or getting more tattoos. Where I live, we have a mix of very wealthy elites, working poor (I assume they're working but probably not) and professional class. The nail salons and tattoos parlors are open and in fact, a new tattoo parlor opened up recently. A lot of my fellow Americans are ignorant and easily lulled by the lies of the liberal media and Democrats like Spunkberger.

Who knew that a State of the Union address would feature more medal ceremonies than the Winter Olympics? OK, it just seemed that way. But the made-for-TV award-aganza – incredibly including, twice, America’s top military honor – was just one feature of perhaps the most spectacular event of its kind ever. “Spectacular” in the word’s original sense, “of the nature of a spectacle or show.” As in: The bombastic beginning: “Our nation is back. Bigger, better, richer, and stronger than ever before.” The theatrical call-in of the Olympic champion U.S. men’s hockey team, followed

They’re not as obnoxious as the “In This House We Believe” yard signs, nor as common, but if in the right neighborhood, it’s not hard to find “Climate Action Now” signs. The virtue signalers want the universe to know they are concerned that not enough is being done to keep Earth from baking. So who wants to tell them? We do. The volume of laws, rules, and regulations that have been passed and issued across the world to take “climate action” is probably innumerable. But we do have a good fix on how much has been spent. According to Danish researcher and author Bjørn Lomborg,

As NASA eases its Artemis II rocket back to the hangar for repairs this week – the second launchpad delay this month – it raises the question of whether this government agency should be in the manned spaceflight business at all anymore. To say that the Artemis program – which has so far cost taxpayers more than $93 billion – has been plagued with problems is an understatement. It has been a case study in bureaucratic bumbling, one made more obvious when compared with the rapid advances achieved by private space companies such as SpaceX. Here’s a brief timeline.

This is a truly Bizarro World story out of deep blue Prince George’s County, Md. Back in December, some 100 families living in the Marylander Condominiums complex were told they would have to leave their homes because the building was deemed “unfit for human habitation.” Last week, a Maryland judge signed a final eviction notice, which could leave many of these families homeless. Why? Turns out that the complex has been besieged for years by a nearby homeless encampment that is “a haven for gangs, drugs, and prostitutes”

The U.S. has arrested Venezuela’s former leader and appears on the verge of toppling Cuba’s regime through stiff economic sanctions. Are Americans tired of this? No. In fact, a majority want the U.S. to either maintain its level of activity in the Western Hemisphere or to expand it, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. The national online poll, taken from Jan. 27 to Jan. 29 by 1,384 adult voters, has a margin of error of +/-2.9 percentage points. "Late Night” host Stephen Colbert must have thought he had a three-fer with his “canceled” James Talarico interview. He could blame Donald Trump for censoring an opposing voice, get his name in the headlines before his show is (mercifully) canceled, and boost the prospects of his favorite Texas Senate candidate. But almost immediately, his ruse fell apart. Colbert told his audience that he’d planned to interview James Talarico – one of three Democrats competing in the primaries to run for senator in Texas – but CBS forced him to pull the interview. “We were told in no uncertain terms

Federal employment is at its lowest since the mid-1960s. Has the country fallen apart without the Washington bureaucracy holding it all together? Hardly. Donald Trump was elected to accomplish a number of objectives. One of them was to cut, and hard, the federal administrative state. The mission has not been accomplished, but after a year, the federal workforce has fallen from more than 3 million to about 2.7 million, roughly where it was six decades ago, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Like a thousand lawyers at the bottom of the ocean, it’s a good start. But

At what point, one wonders, will it be too late for the state to abandon the path to destruction that it chose to take many years ago? Zuckerberg follows Peter Thiel, Sergey Brin and Larry Page as recent ex-pats. He and his wife are reportedly relocating in income-tax-free Florida. The exodus is clearly in response to the probability that voters will approve a special tax on billionaires this fall. Most reports

President Donald Trump’s 2026 State of the Union speech gave every American a front-row seat to see exactly who Democrats are — and more importantly, what they refuse to stand for. According to reports, more than 70 Democrats chose not to attend the speech, but most did, and several times over the course of the evening, they made a choice. They sat. They scowled. They heckled. While Republicans rose time and again in applause, the left side of the chamber looked like a group of children being punished. And Trump noticed. He called them out — repeatedly — for refusing to show even the most basic bipartisan enthusiasm for moments

President Trump's State of the Union speech Tuesday night got extra heated when he relentlessly called out Democrats for supporting sanctuary city policies and refusing to stand for the American people over criminal illegal aliens. Literally, refusing to stand. The President challenged Democrats to affirm their support for the American people over illegal immigrants. And they just couldn't do it. "I'm inviting every legislator to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle," he said, glaring at the Democrat side of the room. "If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support." The principle?

Wild video shows masked ruffians blatantly attacking a police cruiser while an officer was inside during a chaotic street takeover in Maryland. Video and witness accounts show drivers swarming the intersection of East West Highway and Connecticut Avenue shortly after midnight Feb. 22 in Gaithersburg, Maryland, blocking traffic in all directions and performing high-speed “donuts” as onlookers stood in the roadway. Montgomery County police said it started around 12:39 a.m., when a large caravan of vehicles tied to takeover activity was spotted heading toward the Silver Spring central business district. Officers moved to monitor the group and closed several intersections to limit access and protect the public.

By now, the video has gone viral with Trump asking a simple question: “If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal immigrants.” With great timing and a gift for performance and storytelling, Trump pauses and lets the applause grow. He luxuriated in the moment as the Democrats sat there, stone-faced, thinking it would play well at MS-Now. It probably will. Trump wanted all of America to see it and remember it. He set a trap. They walked right into it. “You should be ashamed,” he said.
