The president issued his announcement via his Truth Social account on Thursday. “Based on the tremendous interest shown, I will be directing the Secretary of War, and other relevant Departments and Agencies, to begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters,” Trump wrote.

I fail to see the importance of this. If there are aliens they obviously do not want to make contact and we cannot contact them, so as there is nothing we can do why even bother.

Just ask yourself one question, how is it that the US Government has exclusive knowledge of the origin of UFOs? Did the aliens spot the White House and figure out that that they needed to give them the exclusive story? My guess is that they are unmanned or holograms and have "Made in USA" stamped inside.

My concern is that no matter what they release, we wont be able to believe them. The government's first impulse on any subject is to lie. Why would this be any different? Even if they presented physical evidence there would always be the suspicion that it was faked or had already been invented by the CIA. Their credibility is less than zero. Still, I'm curious and have been my whole life.

Alien visits to Earth are the only things that are nuttier than Man-Made Gullible Warming. It makes less than zero sense. Why would any civilization which is so advanced - - travel more than 25 trillion miles to get here - - then hide in the weeds after they arrive? From more than 25 trillion miles away - - how would they know in which direction to travel in order to get here? And if they did stumble randomly and arrive at a planet full of sentient beings - - why wouldn't they be overjoyed at making contact? Only gullible airheads could believe in that nonsense.

I agree with #2. The vastness of our universe is staggering and even geniuses like Einstein were still puzzled. Does it have a beginning or an end? Our most brilliant minds can't grasp the real facts or what happened. Was it always here? It seems almost inconceivable that there is not life elsewhere but even more interesting and fantastic would be the notion that we are all alone.

Probably highly redacted...if the files show real aliens, and interactions with our ancestors, can you imagine the shockwaves that would generate? People who mentally couldn't handle it would be offing themselves in droves...but then perhaps it is a conspiracy to reduce the population since the Covid didn't do it's job too well...just pondering....

Former Vice President Mike Pence just reminded the MAGA movement what a duplicitous traitor he is — and always has been. On Friday afternoon, Justices John Roberts, Amy Coney Barrett, and Neil Gorsuch joined the court’s three liberal members to strike down President Trump’s signature tariff policy, a central tenet of his 2024 campaign. Pence, who is widely despised across the conservative grassroots, took to the X platform to celebrate the decision: Today’s 6-3 ruling by the Supreme Court is a Victory for the American People and a Win for the Separation of Powers enshrined in the Constitution of the United States.

Remember during the first year of the Trump 2.0 administration, when the Justice Department started cleaning house, as part of the process of fixing the immigration system left in tatters by former Pres. Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris? As we wrote, over 100 immigration court judges were either fired or left of their own accord. In another part of the change-over, the Defense Department brought in hundreds of lawyers from the military ranks to serve as judges. That seems to have kicked things into high gear. Syracuse University's TRAC program showed that almost 80 percent of asylum seekers were deported in the last quarter of 2025.

This week, former Obama advisor and current Netflix board member Susan Rice pulled back the curtain on what Democrats plan to do once they’re back in power, and it was pretty fascist. On Preet Bharara’s podcast, Obama’s scandal-scarred former U.N. ambassador promised that any corporation, law firm, university, or media outlet that “took a knee to Trump” will be targeted when the left is back in charge. “It’s not gonna end well for them,” she warned, casting basic engagement with the Trump administration as a kind of original sin that must be punished. And now President Donald Trump wants accountability. On Saturday, Trump called on Netflix to fire Rice.

John Healey said in May that the Government faced a legal challenge “within weeks” if it did not agree to the handover to Mauritius of the islands, including the Diego Garcia military base. He told MPs the “most potentially serious” threat came from the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, which handles maritime disputes. But the Government has now admitted there is an exception to United Nations maritime laws for “disputes concerning military activities”. The Tories said this admission showed Labour’s legal arguments in favour of handing over the British Indian Ocean Territory to Mauritius had “completely collapsed”.

President Trump’s first-term “Maximum Pressure” policies and aggressive diplomacy significantly lowered tensions with North Korea and set a path toward denuclearization and normalization of relations. Unfortunately, President Biden’s weak foreign policy and neglect of North Korea undermined Trump’s accomplishments and left him with new and complex security challenges to solve with Pyongyang in his second term. These challenges will gain more attention later this month at North Korea’s 9th Party Congress, when North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will probably reiterate his new policy of an “unlimited drive” to expand North Korea’s nuclear arsenal.

The Supreme Court decreed in a bombshell 6-3 ruling Friday that Trump’s global tariffs were invalid and that he overstepped his powers by using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose them. The decision leaves open the question of whether the government will have to issue refunds to many of those it charged, which would be a logistical nightmare. Although liberals are celebrating, Trump himself and his Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent both said they were undeterred and would use other methods to achieve their goals. Three conservative justices, Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, and Brett Kavanaugh, dissented, and Kavanaugh came out swinging in his opinion:

Don’t worry: Friday’s Supreme Court decision limiting some of President Donald Trump’s tariff powers won’t derail his larger, vital project of rebalancing US trade relations, boosting US industry and safeguarding US supply chains — nor should it. Yes, he’ll need to find other ways (more permanent and legally airtight) to pursue those goals, but the high court’s ruling against his across-the-board tariffs illegal also made it clear he has many such tools at his disposal — including other tariff powers. Even many of his allies warned that imposing import duties under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act was legally dubious;

Few things in Washington, D.C., generate as much as excitement and intrigue as a Supreme Court confirmation showdown. For decades, since the eponymous "borking" of then-Supreme Court nominee Bob Bork in 1987, political battles surrounding the membership of the nation's high court have been among the most contentious and raucous of Beltway affairs. Which is why it's rather curious that very few outside the most fervid of court-watchers seem to be discussing the distinct possibility that there could be one or two Supreme Court vacancies after the current term ends this summer.

The United States government (USG) should not go to war with Iran. Iran’s nuclear program is not a meaningful threat to the United States. How Iran is governed, how its government treats its people, and who the Iranians trade with is none of our business. A genuinely America First strategy toward Iran would mean ignoring the country and the Middle East as a whole. The United States government has no core interests on the Asian landmass. The USG should lift all trade sanctions on the Iranian regime, grant diplomatic recognition to whatever regime is currently in power there, and cease efforts to regulate or manage the Iranian nuclear program.
