A woman who received a double mastectomy at the age of 16 under the guise of transgender-related healthcare was just awarded $2 million in the first successful medical-malpractice lawsuit brought by a destransitioner. Fox Varian sued her New York-based psychologist and plastic surgeon for facilitating her gender-transition double mastectomy in 2019, independent reporter Benjamin Ryan who attended Varian’s recent trial, said. Although a host of detransitioners have sued doctors who rush to “affirm” gender confusion with life-altering surgeries, Varian’s is the first known successful lawsuit.

Good! You can't legally get a tattoo in NY until you're 18, but they'll butcher your body on a whim, most likely a planted whim. Now start pulling the medical licenses of these quacks.

How much will the woman get after attorney fees, and will it cover the cost of the original surgery as well as the reconstruction surgery? I bet if "transition surgery wasn't s lucrative for the surgeons as it is, they would be a lot less anxious to cut.

Re #2, typically the lawyers collect 30 to 40 percent of judgements as their fee, but this is negotiated and agreed between lawyers and the client pror to the suit. Ultimately, it can be anything that they agree on.

Two million isn't much, thank your for asking. She was a kid going after foolish kid things. Unfortunately, there were "professionals" out there more than willing to "help out" and I'm sure they were paid quite highly for this surgery and many others like it. Unfortunately, I understand that Obama-Care has mandated Insurance companies pay for this (I could be mistaken.) If this is true, then there is a larger issue that we need to deal with. This psychologist needs to have his or her license revoked for, like, ever!

This whole 'environment' -if that is the right word- is a quagmire. This girl had a host of mental 'issues'- the article states that: "Varian’s other psychological conditions, including anorexia, depression, ADHD, autism, and body dysmorphia". What is the proper treatment? I have no idea, I'm not a mental health person. (Although I DO know 'what a woman is!) But.... It seems to me that a lot of irreversible and costly 'cutting' could be prevented if the patient had to come up with the payment themselves, beforehand. Using 'someone else's money' -extracted involuntarily from other people, whether via taxes or via mandatory health insurance- is one 'root' of this, if not the main root. If the law and government policy is written so as to make it easy to abuse, and there is money to be made doing it, then there is someone out there who will abuse that policy, either to satisfy someone's mistaken -and expensive!- desire, or just to put money in their own pocket. It seems to me that the Federal laws and policies need to be examined and corrected, so as to prevent this from happening in the future.

After Abigail Spanberger won the Virginia governor’s race going away in November, the consensus among the political chattering class was that it’s a foregone conclusion the Republicans will lose in next year’s midterms. The experts said this was a referendum on President Donald Trump, and an early sign that his America First movement is cracking. The same experts pointed to “key Democrat wins” in the New Jersey governor’s race and the New York City mayoral election as further indicators of a coming blue wave. To be so smug in their predictions, the experts had to ignore the fact that the races were in two blue states and a deep

Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger was sworn in just a few weeks ago, but the tornado of bad policy is already swirling around her state. Spanberger’s very first order of business was reversing Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s Executive Order 47, which had allowed for coordination between the Virginia State Police and the Department of Corrections and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. That coordination was important because it allowed the federal and state governments to cooperate to remove people in the country illegally who had committed additional crimes. That it was necessary for Spanberger to make it harder to deport criminals i

President Donald Trump threatened to decertify Canadian-made aircraft and impose a 50% tariff unless Canada approves Gulfstream jets, accusing Ottawa of illegally blocking certification while allowing its own planes access to the American market. The dispute centers on aircraft certification, a regulatory process that determines whether planes can be sold and operated in a country. Trump has accused Canadian authorities of using that process to restrict U.S.-made Gulfstream jets. "Based on the fact that Canada has wrongfully, illegally, and steadfastly refused to certify the Gulfstream 500, 600, 700, and 800 Jets, one of the greatest, most technologically advanced airplanes ever made, we are hereby decertifying their Bombardier Global Expresses, and all

On Tuesday of this week, atomic scientists readjusted the Doomsday clock to 11:58:35, or 85 seconds to Midnight, the narrowest window pointing to mankind's purported annihilation ever. Now keep in mind, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, which almost was the actual annihilation of humans if Russia and the U.S. started exchanging nuclear warheads, the clock was set to 11:53. It's a silly metric, and wholly unserious when considering the geopolitics of all that's going on, past and present. But if we're looking at the longetivity of the Iranian theocracy that's had a deadly iron grip on Persia for nearly 47 years, all indications are the mullahs' time is just about
