With Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson, and other hard-leftists out there trying to conjure up the spirits of Jefferson Davis and Stonewall Jackson, President Donald Trump has just made it clear that he is not going to tolerate any more of this low-grade but escalating insurrection.
“I have instructed Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem,” Trump wrote on Saturday afternoon, “that under no circumstances are we going to participate in various poorly run Democrat Cities with regard to their Protests and/or Riots unless, and until, they ask us for help.” This apparently means that Trump intends

Few things better exemplify the inability of the left to tolerate contrary viewpoints than the recent struggle session framed as an "Internal Town Hall" when CNN CEO Mark Thompson was confronted by leftist staffers who claimed they were offended by the existence on their network of conservative commentator Scott Jennings.
It seems they agreed with recent NewsNight guest Cameron Kasky, who arrogantly declared to Jennings that he was somehow not permitted to use the term "illegal alien" despite the fact it is a legal term written into immigration law. The left-leaning Daily Beast went into further detail about the CNN town hall/struggle session/confrontation on Friday

The leaders of the far-left Spanish Podemos party celebrated on Saturday the “victory” of the mass amnesty for around half a million illegals and hailed the achievement as a step toward the “replacement” of right-wing Spaniards.
Appearing at a campaign event in Zaragoza, Podemos Secretary General Ione Belarra and the party’s leading Member of the European Parliament, Irene Montero, openly embraced the project of demographic displacement as an electoral strategy.
They explained that this week’s deal brokered with the Socialist government of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to grant amnesty to over 500,000 illegals was merely the first step and that the ultimate goal was to either grant them citizenship or to change

There's some not very good electoral news out of Texas, and we should be paying attention to it.
Democratic Texas Senate candidate Taylor Rehmet defeated Trump-endorsed Republican Leigh Wambsganss in a Saturday special election for a seat the president won by double digits three times, multiple outlets project.
Rehmet, a union leader and Air Force veteran, won 57.2% of the vote compared to Wambsganss’s 42.8%, with 95% of the vote in, according to The Associated Press (AP).
Republicans have held the district for decades, and President Donald Trump won it in 2024 by 17 points.

A woman who received a double mastectomy at the age of 16 under the guise of transgender-related healthcare was just awarded $2 million in the first successful medical-malpractice lawsuit brought by a destransitioner.
Fox Varian sued her New York-based psychologist and plastic surgeon for facilitating her gender-transition double mastectomy in 2019, independent reporter Benjamin Ryan who attended Varian’s recent trial, said. Although a host of detransitioners have sued doctors who rush to “affirm” gender confusion with life-altering surgeries, Varian’s is the first known successful lawsuit.

Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway announced Friday that the state, along with several individual plaintiffs, had filed suit against the U.S. Commerce Department and the Census Bureau seeking to bring an end to the counting of illegal aliens in the Census, as well as forcing a recount of the 2020 Census and 2021 apportionment. The press release from Hanaway's office gives additional details:

After Abigail Spanberger won the Virginia governor’s race going away in November, the consensus among the political chattering class was that it’s a foregone conclusion the Republicans will lose in next year’s midterms. The experts said this was a referendum on President Donald Trump, and an early sign that his America First movement is cracking.
The same experts pointed to “key Democrat wins” in the New Jersey governor’s race and the New York City mayoral election as further indicators of a coming blue wave.
To be so smug in their predictions, the experts had to ignore the fact that the races were in two blue states and a deep

Catherine O’Hara, a gifted comedic actress and two-time Emmy winner, has died.
O’Hara died Friday at her home in Los Angeles after a brief illness, her reps at CAA confirmed. She was 71.
A native of Toronto, O’Hara was part of the SCTV ensemble that also helped launch the careers of John Candy, Eugene Levy, Rick Moranis and others. She’s arguably best known for playing Kevin’s (Macaulay Culkin) mother, Kate, in the Home Alone movies and had a career renaissance in the past 10 years with Schitt’s Creek — winning an Emmy for her role as a faded soap opera actress opposite old friend Levy — and The Studio\

Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger was sworn in just a few weeks ago, but the tornado of bad policy is already swirling around her state.
Spanberger’s very first order of business was reversing Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s Executive Order 47, which had allowed for coordination between the Virginia State Police and the Department of Corrections and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. That coordination was important because it allowed the federal and state governments to cooperate to remove people in the country illegally who had committed additional crimes. That it was necessary for Spanberger to make it harder to deport criminals i

"Regime change? Oh no, I think we would would love to see the regime change," Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Wednesday while testifying before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations when some Democrat tried to ask him a "gotcha" question about Cuba. While Rubio wouldn't own up to it — and I'm not sure that "regime change" is the appropriate phrasing — I think it's pretty obvious that a free Cuba is a goal of the Donald Trump administration. I mean, they wouldn't 'fess up to plans to dethrone Nicolás Maduro either, but we knew that was coming for months, and we watched it happen on January 3.

President Donald Trump threatened to decertify Canadian-made aircraft and impose a 50% tariff unless Canada approves Gulfstream jets, accusing Ottawa of illegally blocking certification while allowing its own planes access to the American market.
The dispute centers on aircraft certification, a regulatory process that determines whether planes can be sold and operated in a country. Trump has accused Canadian authorities of using that process to restrict U.S.-made Gulfstream jets.
"Based on the fact that Canada has wrongfully, illegally, and steadfastly refused to certify the Gulfstream 500, 600, 700, and 800 Jets, one of the greatest, most technologically advanced airplanes ever made, we are hereby decertifying their Bombardier Global Expresses, and all

On Tuesday of this week, atomic scientists readjusted the Doomsday clock to 11:58:35, or 85 seconds to Midnight, the narrowest window pointing to mankind's purported annihilation ever.
Now keep in mind, during the Cuban Missile Crisis, which almost was the actual annihilation of humans if Russia and the U.S. started exchanging nuclear warheads, the clock was set to 11:53. It's a silly metric, and wholly unserious when considering the geopolitics of all that's going on, past and present. But if we're looking at the longetivity of the Iranian theocracy that's had a deadly iron grip on Persia for nearly 47 years, all indications are the mullahs' time is just about
