Polar Bears Thriving Despite Melting Ice:

Polar bears are remarkable critters. They are a circumpolar species, found all over the Arctic, from Scandinavia to Russia to Alaska to Canada and thence to Greenland. They are the largest bear extant, and the only bear that feeds exclusively on meat. Some biologists have been worried about how polar bears will fare in our time of receding sea ice in some parts of the Arctic, but one new study indicates that the great white bears are more adaptable than some thought. Some polar bears, it seems, are doing well out climate change and reduced ice levels in the Arctic, so a study in Nature Scientific Reports says. Although ‘body condition index’

"have been pretty successful because they can eat just about anything, and they will". They certainly will. All in all, probably the most dangerous bears to humans, even Browns and Grizzlies. In the Arctic villages in Polar Bear country, the natives shut their solid doors and don't go out at night unless absolutely necessary. The ones that have to leave their homes carry something like a .375 Weatherby Magnum.

Yet another thing the climate change/warming crowd has been wrong about. Further, they used sad sack predictions about the poor polar bears that were suffering, picking pictures of bears that looked unhealthy to garner sympathy for their lies. We need to remember that the first thing to do is to fully and carefully examine the data before buying into the sad stories sold by the Left. The data was always weak and manipulated with unjustified "adjustments" that always seemed to support the Leftists' propositions. It was always suspicious that the unadjusted temperature measurements never supported the warming theory but the adjusted numbers did. Finally, the "science" is being looked at it is coming up short. The narrative is falling apart. The threat is not real and therefore extreme solutions are not needed. Where negative things are proven to happen and become real threats, reasonable actions can be taken. The need and scope of any problem is vastly reduced and the requirement for drastic action is withering away. And the lesson should be learned that all the "experts" who perpetrated this delusion should be remembered and they should be held at arm's length in the future as they are unreliable.

Polar bears are quite capable of swimming 100 miles, if they need to. Whales and walruses--not to mention seals--are among their prey. A fully grown human would be a snack, and, believe me, if a polar bear catches a person out in the open, it's ursine mealtime, unless the human has a powerful rifle or compound bow. The ice cover in the Arctic Ocean never disappeared, as Al Gore predicted would happen. It does whatever it does with no human influence whatsoever. In recent years, the ice was doing quite well in the Arctic. A half century ago, polar bear population was thought to be some 5,000 worldwide. Now, as nearly as can be determined, nearly all populations are healthy, and number at least 30,000. Of all the species of bears in America, the polar bear is by far the most likely to attack people. Black bears and brown bears can eat you. Polar bears will eat you. And they're even larger than Kodiak brown bears. Both can weigh 1,700. Trouble is a bruin.

Susan Crockford reported on the misrepresentation of polar bear populations for over a decade, that Polar Bears were not threatened by climate change and their populations were increasing. She lost her unpaid adjunct professor position at the University of Victoria (cancel culture) because of her challenges of other scientist's claims and because she received a $750/month stipend from the Heartland Insitute to support her research for a couple of years.

Years ago I read that the alarm over polar bear population decreases was premature. It appeared that while the case was being made that the population was dropping, there was never any real specific data saying how many polar bears there were. So what was being said was in effect "We dont know how many there were or are but we think they must be dying off" Science!!

Polar bears unlike most other bears primarily eat meat, are very capable swimmers and are extremely vicious. Especially to humans. They're built to run on ice with wide, short, clawed fur padded paws. Also, like other bears despite their large size can outrun a human. Which really sucks for us because we're not built to run on ice. That's why these big critters are dangerous. I knew just because of idiots like Al Gore that these bears were thriving back then and this new study all those years later just proves it.

Grady Demond Wilson, the actor best known for playing Lamont Sanford on the popular 1970s series "Sanford and Son," has died at his home in California, according to The New York Times. He was 79. His son, Christopher Wilson, said his father had prostate cancer. "Sanford and Son" premiered on NBC in January 1972 and starred comedian Redd Foxx, who played sharp-tongued junk dealer Fred Sanford. But Wilson’s Lamont provided the show’s emotional backbone, a frustrated, quick-tempered son constantly at odds with his father while keeping their messy world from collapsing.

In a brief video clip that resurfaced on Saturday and quickly went viral, Boston’s far-left Mayor Michelle Wu summed up what no doubt many of her fellow leftists take to be axiomatically true. If it even came close to being implemented, it would destroy the United States utterly, but after all, what do leftists care about preserving what they think of as a racist, imperialist entity existing on stolen land? And so as far as they’re concerned, the destruction of the nation wouldn’t be a bug, but a feature. In the clip, which actually dates from March 2025 but which Mass Daily News reposted on X Saturday, quickly racking up

During Thursday's cabinet meeting, Donald Trump mentioned that he'd spoken with his little Venezuelan pawn, "acting President" Delcy Rodríguez, and that the call had gone well. We later found out that they talked for a quite a while, at least half an hour, and that both Trump and Marco Rubio were on the phone. The actions that have followed in the few days since sort of give you an idea of exactly how that phone call went down. I'm guessing Trump may have reminded her that there could easily be a "second wave." First of all, Ms. Delcy has dialed down her rhetoric.

The streets cleared quickly, barefoot boys darting to claim the best vantage points. It was summer, and the air stank of old straw laid down to soak up urine and horse droppings, mixed with the sharp tang of fresh fish hauled in from the harbor that morning. Inside inns and taverns, conversations fell away as people shifted toward windows mysteriously clean for the first time in weeks. British officers and soldiers quieted. Something was happening, and they didn't think they'd like it.

House Republicans just dropped what might be the most important piece of legislation of our lifetimes. The Make Elections Great Again (MEGA) Act hit the floor on Thursday, and it's a full-throttle effort to secure elections in ways Democrats have long fought against. For starters, the MEGA Act would require a photo ID to vote and mandate proof of citizenship to register nationwide. The bill also directly targets practices that became major flashpoints in 2020 that undermined confidence in the 2020 election. This legislation mandates that mail-in ballots must arrive by the close of polls on Election Day to be counted, with one exception for military personnel overseas.
