The Abigail Spanberger Bait-and-Switch

Original Article

During the 2025 gubernatorial election the voters of Virginia believed they were choosing between pragmatic Democrat Rep. Abigail Spanberger and lackluster Republican Lieutenant Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears. The former was well funded and portrayed favorably by the corporate “news” media as a centrist, while the latter struggled to raise money and was labeled an extremist because of her strong support of gun rights. Spanberger won by double digits and most Virginians thought they were getting a slightly more liberal governor than her predecessor, Glenn Youngkin. Yet the moment she took office, it became obvious that Gov. Spanberger was no moderate.

Good job Catron, but even his description puts a shine on a sneaker. Spahnberger was easy to see thru. She stood there as Winsome pilloried her for supporting her chum who threatened to kill his opponent's children. This does not even sound real. But ir was. Then both of those maniacs got elected. The voters in Virginny got what they deserved. They chose open evil in the most transparent election i can remember.

Virginia was warned about Spanberger and Democrats during the elections. Yet the gullible electorate believed their rhetoric and fell for the usual Democrat bait and switch. Their media allies were perfect accomplices in this con job on the public. Now they act surprised at Spanberger and the Democrats actions.

FAFO. The majority of voters in Illinois have FAFOed for years and we have learned the result. We are the brokest state in the Union. Our taxes are high. And for what?! Four Illinois governors have served time in the Federal pen. The man who served for decades as the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives is serving time in prison. Corrupt and broke! But the Guv can eat all he wants, lecture everyone on health, and abort babies till the cows come home. Welcome to the club, Virginia!

Sorry David but the really lackluster campaign was Spunkberger's. Well, at least until the text messages of Jay Jones were released and the results were the media in VA allowed him and her to get away with his hateful texts. She couldn't answer a simple question on any topic without sounding like Kamala Harris - basically saying a lot of nothing but yacking away in response. And unfortunately for Sears, her criticism of Trump challenging the 2020 election results didn't win her any points from Trump last year. He didn't endorse her.

#2 - I don't deserve this because I definitely didn't vote for her but I will be affected by what she is doing. She ran against Trump and had the support from people like Soros who were pumping unbelievable amounts of money into Virginia for the Dems. Judging from her Congressional voting records, I never thought she was the least bit moderate. Everyone in Virginia will be poorer as a result of the 2025 elections in the state. What a shame.

I wouldn't say it was bait & switch, I'd say it was yet another case of voters ignoring the message because they didn't like the messenger. They told themselves that proof of who she really is was was simply "rightwing propaganda" from "rightwing sources".

There is a difference between free speech (saying whatever you wish), and lying. If you don't do as promised in your free speech, I believe one could be sued for that. Might even win. Now wouldn't that be a new outcome. Might cut out politicians lying to be elected.....consequences and all that. After all, she told us what her product was and it now turns out she lied about the product we bought because she lied simply to become Governor. That's more than Bait & Switch; it is cheating and selling a faulty product.

Veteran conservative commentator Victor Davis Hanson on Monday shared an update on the major health issue that he announced at the end of 2025 that forced him to step away from his podcast and other media appearances. Hanson started his update — which he shared on X — with some good news, saying the removal of a cancerous lung mucinous adenoma carcinoma and the lower right lung lobe in early January was successful. But he said his recovery has been “slowed” down by a post-operation aneurism, which has led to “low red blood counts, fatigue, and bouts of arterial fibrillation.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., likes to argue that the “whole point” of protesting is to make people “uncomfortable.” Debate. Dissent. Running highly misleading political ads on TV. These are all part of our great tradition of political discourse. In this, as in so much else, the Democrat darling is incorrect. Taking to the streets to disrupt the lives of average citizens is a leftist ideal, not an American one. It’s antithetical to the highest virtue of republicanism, namely, minding your own business.

No one ever said that the anti-ICE crew was smart. Their whole premise is wrong from the jump, that they should be trying to stop the enforcement of federal law. But beyond that, while they may be organized, they're also frequently wrong, such as when they harass people they think are ICE but who aren't. They don't get the irony of their grilling American citizens on who they are and if they have ID, even as they argue against deporting people who are here illegally.

It was hardly necessary to read the headlines Sunday morning to know that the corporate media, like Minnesota’s irresponsible governor Tim Walz, would effectively accuse federal immigration officers of brutally executing Alex Pretti. For example, a New York Times “analysis” fails to mention that Pretti was an anti-ICE activist who had interfered with the apprehension of a criminal suspect, and was violently resisting arrest when the officers realized he was armed. The Times falsely claims, “An agent had already removed Mr. Pretti’s gun when two other agents opened fire, shooting him in the back as he lay on the ground.”

Of all the bills he sponsored, he was able to successfully pass only one. It must have been really important to him to put it all on the line to convince his colleagues to go along with him, right? Instead of investigating the explosive new batch of evidence revealed in recently declassified documents, Comey rushed ahead to close an investigation into whether Clinton improperly transmitted and received classified material from a private, unsecured server she kept in her basement. Comey also took the extraordinary step of bypassing the attorney general and personally exonerating Clinton of wrongdoing

The antics of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz have been much in the news of late, but the corporate media has studiously ignored the legal and historical context of his refusal to comply with federal immigration law. Minnesota is just one of 16 Democrat-controlled states that have enacted measures that violate the Constitution’s Supremacy Clause (Article VI, Clause 2), which provides that federal law takes precedence over conflicting laws passed by states. These Democrats are reenacting the nullification crisis that historians regard as a precursor to the Civil War.

It was, however, surprising to discover how ignorant the Democrats are about the President’s authority to deploy military forces. Saturday morning, for example, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) brayed, “The Trump administration has not sought congressional authorization for the use of military force and has failed to properly notify Congress in advance of the operation in Venezuela.” Jeffries is evidently unaware of the War Powers Resolution of 1973 (WPR).

Based on the breadth of those categories, roughly 70 percent of Washington state residents would fall under the bill’s definition of “socially disadvantaged.” Under existing statute, the Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) defines a “socially disadvantaged individual” as someone who has experienced racial or ethnic prejudice or cultural bias within American society due to group identity, stemming from circumstances beyond the individual’s control.
