University of Pennsylvania climate scientist Michael Mann’s losses in court continued to mount Thursday when a D.C. Superior Court judge denied his request to reconsider sanctions against him for having “acted in bad faith.”
As a result, he owes more than $28,000 to two bloggers, who once faced $1 million in damages that a jury had awarded to Mann in his defamation suit against them. The ruling also had strong words concerning Mann’s conduct in the case, accusing him of presenting figures to the jury that he knew to be incorrect.

Border Patrol Commander-at-Large Greg Bovino and Acting Executive Assoc. Dir. for ICE ERO Marcos Charles held a press conference Sunday afternoon, at roughly the same time Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison were continuing to inflame the situation at their own press conference. (Bovino's presser was scheduled first, then Walz scheduled his and started it about a minute before Bovino; how's that for cooperation and coordination?)
A local Minneapolis journalist asked Bovino, "People in Minnesota want to know when this surge will end. Has there been a date set? Is there a certain number of people you want to apprehend before you decide to ease the surge?"

In my opinion, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is one of the more underrated voices among Trump administration cabinet members. But over the last couple of weeks, his star has risen on a national and world stage (Snip) Bessent was still on his A game Sunday when he sat down for an interview with ABC News "This Week" co-anchor Jonathan Karl, who has written a number of anti-Trump books. Karl was no doubt itching to ask Bessent for his opinion on the CBP shooting incident that took place Saturday in Minnesota, and which left one protester dead.
But Karl's "gotcha" questions didn't go according to plan

As sure as former First Lady Michelle Obama will cry about racism and complain, former President Barack Obama will use a tragedy to become lecturer-in-chief about how things should be handled because he was a successful two-term president. This is the same man who engineered a coup against President Donald Trump 45 and was a puppet master in the Autopen's administration, but as long as he's still around, he will work to insert himself where he is not welcome.
More and more, we discover that Barack Obama is not just an elitist liar, but extremely petty. This is our shocked face.

The Department of Homeland Security has announced the arrest of an anti-ICE agitator who was reportedly using caltrops to deflate federal vehicles. [Tweet]
The individual was apparently detained after obstructing law enforcement by employing homemade tire deflating devices. The objects were constructed using hose and large screws. Officials found a bag full of the devices in the individual’s possession during the arrest.
One individual online reported that MS Now briefly showed some of the caltrops in the roadway, but quickly cut away without mention.

If you give a mouse a cookie, he’s going to want a glass of milk. And if you tell a country that its immigration laws are optional, you’re going to have a problem.
It starts, as these things always do, with a wink and a nod. A decision to “look the other way.” A promise that compassion requires flexibility. A shrug at the law because enforcing it might make someone uncomfortable—or worse, unpopular.
But laws don’t work like that. They’re either laws or they’re suggestions. And when you treat immigration law like a suggestion, everything downstream begins to rot.
First, you disrespect the border. Not tighten it. Not reform it.

In just one sentence, the Minneapolis police chief tacitly endorsed violence against federal immigration officers, and made it clear why the violence continues to escalate without police interference.
President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance partly blamed Minnesota authorities and police after an armed and violent protester ended up getting killed in a struggle with Border Patrol yesterday. After all, Minnesota Democrats are totally on the side of the criminal illegal aliens and rioters, and local police refuse to back up the feds. It seems Trump and Vance were even more right than we realized, based on shocking comments from Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara.

First it was Renee Good, 37, who, unbeknownst to herself, committed suicide by ICE by simply doing what she thought she was trained to do, and what she errantly believed was right. As her common-law “wife” commanded her to “drive, baby, drive,” she hit the gas in her Honda SUV and drove directly into eternity without ever learning the full truths about why she did what she did. Mass psychosis can do that to people. They never have the chance to learn from a fatal mistake.
Now it’s Michael Pretti, also 37, who committed suicide by ICE, again not in a premeditated way, though he did everything you could do

At this point, it needs to be said out loud: the biggest obstacle standing in the way of real change and Trump’s America First movement right now isn’t the left. It’s our own cruddy partyDems do exactly what they promise… They unapologetically vote together, fight, and fund their ideology. But Republicans campaign like fighters, rage out on X, line up for Fox News soundbites, and then govern like terrified hostages. They tell voters one thing, then very quickly do the complete opposite once cameras stop rolling.
And that’s why moments like this matter…

The Bank of England was advised to create a plan for the inevitable financial chaos that will result if and when world governments disclose the existence of aliens, according to a report. Former senior financial security analyst Helen McCaw sent a letter to the UK’s central bank urging the institution to prepare for the economic impact of little green men, the Times of London reported. If such a disclosure comes from the White House, Cambridge-educated McCaw projected in her letter, the revelation send shockwaves through financial markets and the banking system — and inspire general unrest amongst Earthlings.

In my column last week about the situation in Iran (“The Fog of Prewar in Iran”), I wrote:
Many commentators, noting Trump’s oft-proclaimed desire for “peace on earth,” believe he has paused to see if negotiations with Iran might end the slaughter. I doubt it. Trump’s desire for peace is perfectly genuine. But I note that the last time he said he wanted “peace on earth” was when he was asked whether he had any New Year’s resolutions just a couple of weeks ago. That was mere hours before he unleashed hell against the Venezuelan tyrant Nicolás Maduro, extracting him and his wife —

In case you missed it this week, the Wall Street Journal came out with an "exclusive," stating that the Donald Trump administration's goal is regime change in Cuba by the end of the year. It claims that, "emboldened" by the capture of Nicolás Maduro, the administration is looking for people within the current Cuban "government" who might be willing to turn on the Commies and negotiate or facilitate a deal that would lead to a transition in power. In other words, those who see the writing on the wall — that without Maduro's regime sending them oil, Cuba is a failed state.

This week, the New York Times published an article called "Americans Are Turning Against Gay People," and if you're wondering whether the paper has completely lost touch with reality, the answer is yes. The piece opens with some gushing about a show I’ve never even heard of — and I suspect you haven’t, either — called Heated Rivalry, featuring gay hockey players, suggesting that its success proves "acceptance of queer love continues to grow." The authors, Tessa Charlesworth and Eli Finkel, lament that this is not the case. "We wish we could share that optimism,"

Accountability is coming” to Minnesota, Attorney General Pam Bondi declared as Democrats try to shift public attention away from large-scale government fraud and towards the chaos they have created in Minneapolis. The promise comes after an ICE officer shot a person dead during a Saturday street scuffle while Democrat-allied activists were trying to disrupt a federal law enforcement action.
The shooting prompted Democrats to escalate their claims of murder by ICE and their demands that ICE leave the city amid the expanding federal investigation into what many Republicans say is statewide, migrant-enabled, Democratic-backed taxpayer fraud.

When Renee Good drove her car into an ICE agent earlier this month, the left tried to gaslight us into believing she was just some innocent bystander who was just at the wrong place, that she’d just dropped her son off at school and wasn’t supposed to be there. That narrative fell apart fast. Good, we soon learned, was a trained anti-ICE agitator who was absolutely there to obstruct law enforcement. Now we're watching the same playbook unfold with 37-year-old Alex Pretti, the armed agitator shot dead by Border Patrol agents on Saturday in Minneapolis while confronting agents.
The talking points are already circulating.

Law professor Jonathan Turley had no patience for the political theater playing out in Minnesota after the Border Patrol-involved shooting in Minneapolis. In a fiery thread on X, he blasted Gov. Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey for their reckless comments and premature condemnations.

He is saying that the state not the federal government will control the investigation. He does not have that authority.”

We all know the drill by now. Any time there’s weather, the “climate change” alarmists tell us it’s the end of the world. But all you have to do is get rid of your gas stove, pay more taxes, and submit to more regulation. Then that two feet of climate change in your driveway will magically melt away, and the already frozen polar ice caps will freeze once again. That’s how it works. When the weather weathers, that’s just another excuse for the left to pick your pocket and take away your freedoms.

One hard-and-fast rule that leftists obey is this: Always accuse political opponents of committing the same transgressions that you are preparing to commit. Accusing innocent people of doing terrible things is dirty politics, but it muddies the waters of public perception just enough to protect the guilty from accountability.
When Democrats commit electoral fraud, they accuse Republicans of trying to steal elections. When leftist revolutionaries burn down cities, ambush and murder law enforcement officers, and demand that state and local governments “defund police,” Democrats accuse grandparents and veterans of being “insurrectionists.”

It seems long past time for President Donald Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act. In the chaos and violence following the death of an armed Minneapolis would-be terrorist shot while fighting Border Patrol, another protester has bitten off the finger of a federal officer.
