Good Morning! Today is a very chilly Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026. Today is “National Visit Your Local Quilt Shop Day.” I’d wait for the weather to settle down, myself, but it occurs to me that a quilt would be kinda handy. A sub-zero day here in western New York. 1908 Lieutenant General Robert Baden-Powell publishes "Scouting for Boys" as a manual for self-instruction in outdoor skills and self-improvement. The book becomes the inspiration for the Scout Movement. 1916 The Military Service Bill, calling for conscription of men for war services, passes in the British House of Commons. 1922 Christian Kent Nelson of Iowa patents the eskimo pie (no, he was not an Eskimo).

While Trump's clarity and dominance was joyous and refreshing, Davos, as an event, is a dud, mostly because they have been so disconnected from reality and so self interested that their relevance is almost non existent. Of course that is a problem for politicians, the idle rich, and the media who exist to be revered. Trump drops in to say they and their ideas are all useless and that leaves egg on all their faces. Where do you go when, not only are you wrong, but you are too stupid to push instead of pull the exit door, ignoring the blinking neon sign saying PUSH.

These fat cat bureaucrats contribute nothing to the economy, except perhaps the sex trade. I have to believe a person must sell their soul to the devil to achieve such a position.

A senior figure at the very top of China’s military has been abruptly removed amid allegations he passed highly sensitive nuclear information to the United States. Zhang Youxia, long regarded as the operational leader of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), was dismissed on Saturday for a “serious violation of discipline.” According to The Wall Street Journal, the 75-year-old general is accused of sharing classified details relating to China’s nuclear weapons programme with Washington. The allegations were reportedly laid out during a closed-door briefing attended by senior PLA officers.

A conservative D.A. in rural Arizona is changing the state’s landscape — for the better. With the state in chaos due to botched elections, patriots are desperately in need of a leader to stand up and unite the base. Enter Pinal County Attorney Brad Miller, who was elected to office over a year ago, defeating a two-term incumbent backed by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors and amplified by the local media establishment. That was not an accident. It was a rejection. At the time Miller took office, the chairman of the supervisors was already entrenched, serving his fourth term. Miller is different. He is the outlier,

It’s last call for San Francisco’s government hooch. A COVID-era program that guzzled $5 million of taxpayer money annually to serve booze to homeless alcoholics will finally shutter this year, San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie exclusively told The California Post. “For years, San Francisco was spending $5 million a year to provide alcohol to people who were struggling with homelessness and addiction — it doesn’t make sense, and we’re ending it,” Lurie said. The taxpayer tipple, called the Managed Alcohol Program (MAP), was created by the San Francisco Department of Public Health in April 2020, when the city began housing homeless people in hotels during lockdown.

The city of Los Angeles has quietly steered $1.4 million in taxpayer funds to a “social justice” group that wants to abolish the LAPD, cancel the 2028 Olympics, halt rent and mortgage payments — and has even sued the city. The group has been hired to perform tenant outreach, education and housing-related mapping work.

Former Minnesota Vikings captain and University of Minnesota football star, Jack Brewer, has accused Minneapolis authorities of protecting illegal migrant “thugs” in the city, and said Democrats in the state only opposed ICE’s actions because they were “deporting” their supporters. “There is something wrong in Minneapolis. We need a city-wide behavioral health assessment. People have completely lost reality,” the former Golden Gophers defensive back told Fox News Digital. “I hope President Trump sends in the National Guard. We need curfews. We need real consequences for attacking law enforcement.

Here’s a challenge. Ask your neighbor, ask your best friend, ask the guy standing next to you at the deli counter, ask as many relatives as possible, ask any real estate agent in the world this question: What is the number-one thing all people in the world do when they decide to move into an apartment or condo or co-op or house? Even before they buy appliances or furniture or food for their refrigerator or outdoor plants or a new mailbox. Even before they hire an inspector to check out if everything in their new digs is in good order.

We all know the drill by now. Any time there’s weather, the “climate change” alarmists tell us it’s the end of the world. But all you have to do is get rid of your gas stove, pay more taxes, and submit to more regulation. Then that two feet of climate change in your driveway will magically melt away, and the already frozen polar ice caps will freeze once again. That’s how it works. When the weather weathers, that’s just another excuse for the left to pick your pocket and take away your freedoms. Well, in this little rural red pocket of a blue state,

It’s unclear if Pretti had drawn the weapon and was immediately disarmed, if an officer had pulled it from his clothing or if he was in the process of pulling it out when a separate federal officer was seen taking it from the 37-year-old as he was pinned to the ground. Videos of the incident show officers shouting “he’s got a gun,”

Alex Pretti did something foolish and illegal at the protest in Minneapolis. He interfered with law enforcement agents. There will be debates for days if not years about whether his illegal interference with the cops, the discovery of his gun, and his violent resistance justified them shooting him. In considering that issue, I urge readers to consider it not from the warm comfort of their recliner while watching slow-motion videotapes interspersed with football highlights, but from the perspective of cops who are being taunted, spat upon, name-called, and threatened with being run over by organized protesters in the bitter

Meanwhile, some conservatives claimed wrongly that he was about to commit mass slaughter before he was shot—Pretti was legally carrying a firearm at the protest. It will bring the work of existing agencies such as the National Crime Agency (NCA) and regional organised crime units under the same organisation, buying new technology such as facial recognition on behalf of all forces.

Amid continuing violent insurrection in Minneapolis, where local police and state authorities are siding with anti-ICE rioters, Donald Trump is sending his border czar to oversee operations personally. Border Patrol shot an armed and violent protestor, Alex Pretti, as he feloniously clashed with them during an operation to arrest a criminal illegal alien. Since then, the property destruction and assaults on federal immigration officers escalated, while Minnesota and Minneapolis authorities refused to do anything to enforce the rule of law. Gov. Tim Walz deployed the National Guard but apparently mainly to hand out goodies to violent protesters. So Donald Trump is taking action.

As we all know, the only thing "progressive" about the Left over the last ten years has been the progression of their psychological affliction known as "Trump Derangement Syndrome." Think about it: TDS during President Donald Trump's first term was already festering, but the rhetoric with its accompanying violence was arguably not quite as incendiary as it is today. In a Sunday example, a librarian — yes, a librarian — was arrested after allegedly posting online videos trying to recruit assassins to kill the president. Is anyone surprised?
