Jack Smith, the special prosecutor who attempted to put President Trump in prison for acknowledging that the 2020 election was tainted by fraud, testified before the House Judiciary Committee the week before Christmas. Here are the video and transcript of his deposition. Smith’s testimony is disturbing because his argument in favor of prosecuting the president boils down to this: (1) Every sensible person knows that Joe Biden won the 2020 election. (2) For President Trump to pretend otherwise reveals that he is knowingly telling a “lie.” (3) By using this “lie” to undermine the 2020 election results, Trump committed fraud against the U.S. government

Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were indicted in the Southern District of New York, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced early on Jan. 3.
“Nicolás Maduro has been charged with Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy, Cocaine Importation Conspiracy, Possession of Machineguns and Destructive Devices, and Conspiracy to Possess Machineguns and Destructive Devices against the United States,” Bondi said on X. “They will soon face the full wrath of American justice on American soil in American courts.”
Bondi issued the statement hours after Maduro and Flores were captured and extracted by U.S. armed forces in Caracas in the early hours of Jan. 3.
“On behalf of the entire U.S. DOJ, I would like to thank

Public education has been undergoing a type of ideological and administrative mutilation for many decades. Under the guise of new educational paradigms that will supposedly both increasingly democratize education and improve learning, we see in the schools a collapse in student cooperation, an increase in violence and disruptive behaviors, a decline in academic achievement, and an increase in teacher turnover.
We have seen a shift away from individual work to cooperative learning where students work together in groups. “Learning together” is a mantra opposed to classical individual learning and individual responsibility. Other strategies intended to motivate students

Fox News reports that our armed forces carried out a “large-scale strike” in Venezuela early Saturday morning and took Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife into custody. President Trump relate on Truth Social that the operation was successful and Maduro and his wife were “captured and flown out of the country.” Trump said the operation was conducted with U.S. law enforcement and added that a news conference will take place at Mar-a-Lago at 11 a.m. on Saturday. It appears that congratulations are in order.
Our old friend Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau responded to Trump’s announcement on X, describing it as a “new dawn for Venezuela.

At the start of the COVID pandemic in 2020, California had more than 120,000 inmates in state prisons throughout the state.
When — in response to COVID-triggered shutdowns and layoffs — the federal government began pumping massive amounts of money into states’ unemployment compensation programs, the Administration of California Governor Gavin Newsom said “Hey, let’s pay prisoners in prisons and jails, they’re unemployed too.”
Well, maybe not quite as glibly as that, but it is a FACT that prison inmates in California prisons and county jails applied for and were paid unemployment compensation by Newsom’s “Employment Development Department” (EDD) which runs the state’s unemployment compensation system.

Independent journalist Nick Shirley says he has received death threats and harassment — including phone calls to his family — after releasing a viral video alleging fraud at Minnesota daycare centers.
Shirley described the threats during a Dec. 31 appearance on the PBD Podcast, and said he was warned he would be "Kirked," a reference to the September assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The backlash against the YouTuber follows his investigation into several publicly funded Minnesota daycare centers.
Shirley claimed the centers appeared largely empty despite receiving substantial state payments.

Independent journalist Nick Shirley humiliated the mainstream media last week by doing something that the media hasn’t done much of lately: investigative journalism. He visited the sites of suspected fraudulent day care centers in Minneapolis, showing they weren’t operating despite receiving more than $100 million in state aid.
So CNN decided to one-up Shirley by doing their own "investigative journalism.”
Correspondent Whitney Wilde tried calling the daycare centers to ask whether they were fraudulent.
I know. Amazing, right?
Spoiler alert: they said yes. So obviously, that mystery is solved.
Wilde explained in a voiceover in the segment that she "reached out to several of the day cares featured in the now viral video."

The biggest story of 2025, to judge from the number of people who sent it to me, was this raccoon: (Snip) In case you somehow missed this story: In late November, this raccoon got into a state liquor store in Ashland, Va., by falling though the ceiling. Once inside, the raccoon ransacked the store, leaving a trail of broken bottles... (Snip) ...and apparently consuming a large quantity of booze before passing out in the bathroom next to the toilet. That’s where the raccoon was found by a store employee, who called an animal-control officer, who took it to an animal shelter. When the raccoon finally sobered up, it was hired

It is the season for New Year’s Resolutions, always an exciting time. Diets begin and exercise regimens commence; people commit to look for new jobs, new relationships, new hobbies... addicts try to give up their demons, from candy to alcohol, from television to video games. Everything begins anew.
And if you look closely, you can even see it in the news coverage.
Look, for example, at the mainstream media coverage of Minnesota’s massive Somali corruption, with attitudes being wholly transformed in real time. There’s a clear process for the media to follow:
The mainstream media hides the story, hoping it will go away. Eventually, after enough video exposure,

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) said it succinctly on Wednesday, commenting on the news that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani intended to be sworn in on the Qur’an: “The enemy is inside the gates.” Newsmax reported Thursday that in saying this, Tuberville had “ignited a fresh political firestorm.” It was just over two weeks ago that he ignited the last one, writing that “Islam is not a religion. It's a cult. Islamists aren't here to assimilate. They're here to conquer. Stop worrying about offending the pearl clutchers. We've got to SEND THEM HOME NOW or we'll become the United Caliphate of America.” According to Newsmax, Mamdani’s use of the Qur’an

Satellite records indicate that there was a sharp uptick in global temperatures in 2023, followed by a steep decline by 2025: [chart] Warmists were ecstatic over the 2023 increase, which they attributed to “climate change.” (It makes no sense to say that a change was caused by change, but put that aside for the moment.) As to the subsequent decline, they were almost entirely silent.
It seemed obvious to me that the most likely explanation was the extraordinary eruption of the Hunga Tonga underwater volcano in January 2022. That eruption, unprecedented in recorded history, sent vast quantities of water vapor into the atmosphere. Water vapor is, of course, the principal greenhouse
