The Trump-McMahon Department of Education (DOE) has moved to end the last of the Biden administration’s large-scale, illegal federal student loan bailout programs. DOE announced its agreement with Missouri to end the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan, which was set to cost taxpayers almost $350 billion in a decade’s time. The Dec. 9 press release celebrated the move as being not only a win for taxpayers, but necessary clarity for borrowers duped by extravagant and unrealistic Democrat promises.

This was just a vote buying deal for Biden and the Democrats anyway. If you are old enough to sign a contract to borrow money for school or any other reason, you are the one who is on the hook to re-pay the money - not the American taxpayers. The reasons why this was a terrible idea are too numerous to name but we've heard them all.. I just know I don't want my tax dollars paying off the student loan for someone who has more money coming in every month than I do from my social security.

Suggestion to Trump and McMahon. Set up a process where for any University run by a Leftist organization/Professors are required to STOP ALL INDOCTRINATION or NO Student Loans will be provided. On top of that ALL those same Universities must lower their TUITIONS to a reasonable amount (to be determined) so they have a stake in the game. Next, force them to use their ENDOWMENTS for all student needs. Forbid Professors from requiring students to buy their books. Endowment pays for all BOOKS, NONE written or sponsored by sitting Professors or any other employees (including contractors, of the University. Bottom line, we need to force these Universities to do their Job and totally STOP all the ways they abuse students and Indoctrinate them! I'm sure other issues can also be added to this list.

The students were the victim of predatory lending by the government. They gave them loans for degrees with the word "studies" in it, knowing they could never pay them back. It is all about control.

PeacefulProtest 17 hours ago I can fix this overnight: make universities the co-signers on all student loans instead of taxpayer guarantees. Who gets accepted (no more morons) and what gets taught (no more ethnic dance degrees) suddenly become very important when the university is financially on the hook for their own failures.

At one time, education was priced so reasonably that California offered "free" tuition to all residents. Elsewhere, a student could work in a restaurant part time and work his way through school. Sadly, prices have soared enough to prevent all that and the quality of education is practically nil. Students and parents now pay through the nose to finance low IQ athletes and "underprivileged" students. One can get a better education at the public library than can be found at the Ivy League.

Please move student lending back to the banks. The government took this over under Obama. There is no justification for government involvement in student lending.

Anyone who has been anticipating an announcement from the U.S. military about potential permanent fallout for former servicemembers or intelligence agency staffers over the release of that "illegal orders" video by six now-national Democrat lawmakers could be one step closer to hearing some news. As many RedState readers know, among the lawmakers was Arizona's senior senator, Mark Kelly, and it was Kelly whom the Pentagon singled out for a review for "serious allegations of misconduct.” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth ordered the Navy through a memorandum in late Nov. to take a long look into it, and submit a report with their findings/recommended actions.

One of the biggest whoppers Democrats told during the Schumer Shutdown was that they were not fighting for taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegals as part of the demands they wanted to be met to end the shutdown. Federal law prohibits the use of Medicare, Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Affordable Care Act to provide health insurance in any way, shape, or form to undocumented immigrants—period, full stop. Democrats aren’t trying to change that," Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08) proclaimed at the time. The National Consumers League is America’s oldest consumer advocacy organization and a group trusted by the left, especially, to stand up for consumers’ interests. But according to a review of its tax filings by the Washington Examiner, it has also become part of a web of astroturf groups shilling for the corporate interests of PhRMA, the massive drugmaker trade association that operates in Washington, DC, which donated close to $1 million to it just last year. The organization’s 2024 tax form, which became available a few days ago, shows that the non-profit spent close to $600 million last year advocating for Big Pharma’s financial interests and policy agenda in Washington, DC,

One of America’s major national security threats is the cozy relationship between many American corporations and the Chinese government. Microsoft is one of the worst offenders in this regard, as proven by a new report released last week. It adds to the growing evidence that the tech giant is far too close with America’s chief geopolitical foe to be trusted with handling critical infrastructure. The report, compiled by Nathan Picarsic of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and Horizon Advisory, reveals a disturbing picture about the tech giant. “Over three decades, the company has built a vast commercial, research, and engineering presence in China,

Minnesota is now facing one of the largest documented government service fraud scandals in United States history. Under Gov. As of this writing, 87 individuals have been charged in connection with the scheme, with 61 convictions already secured and more charges continuing to be filed against these fraudsters. The bulk of the fraud scheme centers around two government programs.

Taking a very significant step to be in alignment with President Trump’s North American trade bloc construct, Mexico has passed a sweeping set of tariffs against Chinese imports. The motive for the move by President Claudia Sheinbaum and her political party, Morena, which controls both legislative chambers is clear. Mexico is moving into direct alignment with President Trump as the likelihood for the end of the current USMCA trade agreement looms. President Trump has sent clear signals expressing his intent to dissolve the USMCA trade agreement in favor of two bilateral agreements, one with Mexico and one with Canada. The Mexican government led by Sheinbaum -

The words were a Biblical verse: Chapter 3, verse 16 of the Gospel according to John, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” Of course, the Free Speech Union observed that for such words to be prohibited or penalised would violate free speech, and that if a police officer is even suggesting they might be,
