The New Monroe Doctrine: All Eyes on Honduras

Welcome to "The New Monroe Doctrine," where I give you an update on what's going on in the Western Hemisphere, south of our border, especially as it relates to the United States. First of all, I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. I took the day off and cooked for eight hours, and my brain is still in some sort of turkey and pecan pie-induced coma, so bear with me here. I almost took the week off, but there are things that I feel are important to mention before we head into the weekend... and December. Venezuela Venezuela is dominating the news cycle, and rightfully so.

If we can't fix the corrupt elections in America, how can we tell Honduras they need to fix theirs? Paper ballots in person!!!!!! The voting machines are the equivalent of the auto pen, and the death of the democratic system!

Venezuela will remain at a state of ruin and corruption until Maduro is dead. They are unable to operate honest industries and their main income is narcotics and they will continue to operate in desperation until all of their supply routes are blocked and/or destroyed. Maduro feeds his government, his police force and his army while ordinary citizens eat out of garbage cans. Agree with #1, we can't honestly talk about elections anywhere else in the world as long as our own are rigged.

The only real pressure that can be brought against corrupt regimes is financial. I certainly don't want our soldiers on the ground in another s***h*** country. Wipe out the millions going to the narco countries via drugs and their corrupt leaders. Trump has the right idea. Vaporize the "humble fishermen" who troll for fish at fifty MPH. Do that enough and at least it will cut their recruiting efforts to sign up boat crews. We shouldn't ignore Mexico. Biden's 'come one, come all program' has allowed a tsunami of drugs flowing into our country and killing our citizens. We can't stop all the deaths from fentanyl and other lethal drugs but we can make a hell of a dent. Reaper drones on the Mexican cartel headquarters will also help convince some to quit to "spend with more time with their families" as ousted CEOs say when they get pushed out or fired. Sheinbaum will loudly condemn the encroachment into Mexican territory but it will be for show since she doesn't want to make herself a target for assassination by the cartels. I also hate to see Honduras going down the toilet. It's a dangerous country but they do make good cigars and I'll just have to switch. This country has been played for the world's biggest sucker for years and it's time for a change. Trump is our only chance now and then, hopefully, J.D. Lord willing. If you have read "Hillbilly Elegy" you will certainly see why he is so adamantly against illegal drugs.

The left has gone way off the rails with their anti-ICE actions. Even after attacks on ICE facilities that have left people dead, you still have radical anti-ICE crews wreaking havoc in places like New York City, trying to stop ICE from carrying out its mission. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has made it clear: the radicals aren't going to stop them. Apparently, the radicals heard that the federal agents might be conducting another operation on Canal Street, an area ICE has hit in the past. So about 150 people tried to block agents from getting out of a garage of a federal building,

Trump Unravels the Myth of a Special US-China Relationship

This past week, President Donald J. Trump did something no other president has done in American history: he placed back-to-back calls with the leader of Communist China, General Secretary Xi Jinping, and then with Japan’s Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae. The President’s decision to make these calls on November 24 enhanced America’s national security by bringing Japan, our treaty ally, front and center into U.S.–China relations amidst increasing regional security concerns over Beijing’s potential invasion of Taiwan. The unprecedented nature and the importance of President Trump’s calls are best understood in the historical context of what is characterized by the “China Hands” as The Relationship.

While there is much to agree with in the final report of the review of the English national curriculum, titled ‘Building a world-class curriculum for all’, there is also much of concern. Descriptions like “crucial knowledge”, “critical knowledge” and “knowledge-rich”, while clichéd, represent a welcome focus on content instead of vacuous inquiry-based, process and child-centred learning. The report is correct when it argues, “In a world of rapid technological, environmental and social change, subject-specific knowledge remains the best investment.” Similarly, the report’s suggestion that skills and capabilities “arise from and are situated within, a knowledge-rich Curriculum” is welcomed as cognitive research has long proven this is the most effective way to learn.

The Justice Department’s prosecution of former FBI Director James Comey is facing death by a thousand procedural errors. Federal judges overseeing the criminal case have increasingly raised concerns about the department’s efforts to investigate and indict the adversary of President Trump, from the evidence presented to grand jurors to the prosecutor who made the government’s case. Any one of the issues could do away with Comey’s charges before he’s ever put on trial. “This is what happens when you try to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear,” said Barbara McQuade, a former U.S. attorney.

Two months ago today, people who enjoy comedy breathed a sigh of relief when Disney suspended low-rated late-night “comedian” Jimmy Kimmel for what he’d said, and planned to say, about Charlie Kirk’s murder. Less than a week later, Kimmel was back on the air. In between was an orgy of leftist outrage about how President Donald Trump was somehow responsible for forcing Kimmel off the air, that this was yet another sign of authoritarianism on the march, and “the mask of ‘free speech’ coming off for good.” Our favorite was a warning from “actor” Mark Ruffalo,

We've learned quite a few details in the day since Gavin Newsom's chief of staff, Dana Williamson, was charged with 23 federal felonies in a public corruption scheme. According to the indictment, Williamson and multiple co-conspirators, including then-HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra's chief of staff Sean McCluskie, schemed "to divert approximately $225,000 in funds from a dormant political campaign to an associate’s personal use." But there's a lot more to Williamson's indictment. Let's break it down. Tax Fraud When the original story hit, a common reaction was, "Why would she risk everything to essentially embezzle $225,000 for a friend?"

Just last week, Morfogen opened his first restaurant in Miami. He is also planning to open Diner24 in Miami in 2026. “I’m not signing any more leases in New York,” Morfogen vowed. “I’ll keep what I have. We’re not expanding in New York but we are pursuing further opportunities in Miami and other cities.

A new documentary about the Palisades Fire of January shows California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass touring the Pacific Palisades as it burns behind them — with a contingent of Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters accompanying them instead of fighting the blaze. The film, “Paradise Abandoned,” scheduled for release in December, is a reminder that the Palisades Fire will continue to haunt Bass as she seeks re-election — and Newsom as he seeks the presidency. Newsom addressed adoring crowds of Democrats in Houston over the weekend, even picking up a presidential endorsement or two, though he has not yet officially launched his campaign.

So when the current brouhaha broke out over his kid-glove treatment of neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes, I did my best to ignore it. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) in June projected that the tariff increases will reduce the federal deficit by $2.8 trillion over the next decade. His behavior deteriorated so sharply that a community advocate reached out to a refugee organization for help, fearing he was becoming suicidal. Emails obtained by The Associated Press reveal mounting warnings about the suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an asylum seeker whose erratic conduct raised alarms long before the attack that jolted the nation’s capital on the eve of Thanksgiving.
