After the initial shock wore off, it became quite clear to many of us that something nefarious was behind the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the Capitol Complex. Things were too pat. Narratives were set and eagerly parroted by the media within hours. Buses filled with non-MAGA people were reported and verified by congressional reps. And there were "bombs" found at the Democratic National Committee and later at a club near the RNC. Impeachment talk was openly discussed.
Suddenly, questioning the obviously hinky 2020 election was a criminal act against democracy. Trump must go to jail, the left said. And then they went about trying to make that happen.

Christine Pelosi, daughter of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is officially entering politics. The Democratic Party activist and far-left attorney told KQED-TV Monday that she will run for San Francisco’s state Senate seat in 2028. Her announcement followed the passage of Proposition 50, a measure she campaigned for, which she said helped spark her decision to run. Because our rights are under attack, because having just come out [of] Prop. 50, organizing around the state with working families and swing voters and swing districts and reaching out across every corner of San Francisco, I know how excited and enthused people are to participate

Though California Gov. Gavin Newsom has emerged as the most vocal and visible potential 2028 Democrat presidential candidate, there are many others out there who continue to put out feelers and burnish their TDS creds, including Minnesota Gov. Former Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is also reportedly considering a presidential run, with an upcoming town hall he has scheduled in La Crosse, Wisconsin, on November 18th, only adding fuel to the speculation surrounding his future political ambitions.

The Trump administration successfully pressed Nevada to work more closely with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other federal immigration authorities.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced on Monday that Nevada law enforcement has committed to cooperating with ICE to remove criminal illegal aliens in the state and would be removed from the Trump administration’s list of sanctuary jurisdictions.
The declaration marks just the latest instance of a locality agreeing to better cooperate with federal immigration authorities amid mounting pressure from the White House.

The Supreme Court agreed Monday to hear a case challenging state laws that allow mail-in ballots received after Election Day to be counted.
The case originated in Mississippi, where the Republican National Committee challenged a law allowing mail-in ballots that are received up to five business days after Election Day to be counted. The ballots must also be postmarked by the election’s date.
The 5th U.S. Circuit of Appeals ruled in favor of the RNC last fall, deciding, “Federal law requires voters to take timely steps to vote by Election Day. And federal law does not permit the State of Mississippi to extend the period for voting by

Another Democrat Representative announced retirement after Pelosi called it quits.
Democrat Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman on Monday announced she will not be running for reelection in 2026. She was first elected to the US House of Representatives in 2015.
The 80-year-old Democrat served over 50 years in public service in New Jersey.
Recall that Bonnie Watson Coleman was one of the New Jersey Democrats who stormed the Delaney Hall Detention Center earlier this year.

Mr Trump has fired off a legal letter after it emerged Panorama had selectively edited his speech before the 2021 Capitol riot to remove a section where he told supporters to demonstrate peacefully.
A BBC spokesman said: “We will review the letter and respond directly in due course.”
The revelation comes shortly after Mr Shah used his first remarks since the resignations of Director General Tim Davie and Head of News Deborah Turness to mount a defence of the corporation.
Mr Shah accused Michael Prescott, who wrote a critical memo that ultimately prompted the resignations, of offering a “personal account” which gives only a “partial” view of events.

After doing my best to ignore the latest Tucker Carlson saga, I find I must say something.
"Go the hell away," for starters.
I'd said pretty much everything I thought I'd ever need to say about Carlson early last year, following his context-free interview with Palestinian Authority propagandist Reverend Munther Isaac. So when the current brouhaha broke out over his kid-glove treatment of neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes, I did my best to ignore it. Yes, even though Fuentes is the guy who rants that "Jews are running society" and that women and blacks should be silenced or imprisoned.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that he's putting an end to the unlawful registering of illegal aliens to vote in the state, something the Left and Democrats have claimed was not happening following the open borders under former President Joe Biden. In a press release posted on Monday on X, Paxton said he was suing "radical open-borders group JOLT Initiative, Inc. ("JOLT") for its role" in what he labeled "orchestrating a systematic, unlawful voter registration scheme" designed to "sabotage Texas election integrity" and "allowing illegals" to vote.

The election of socialist Zorhan Mamdani as mayor is unleashing a toxic sludge of unsavory characters poised to seize seats of prestige at City Hall.
These real powers behind the throne are putting the mayor-elect on notice: Toe the Jew- and America-hating line, or we’ll make life very difficult.
At Mamdani’s official swearing-in, set for just after midnight on New Year’s Day, it’s we in the cheap seats who are going to suffer hangovers. He said this would mark a new era of free stuff for everyone. Free buses. Free groceries. Free child care. More prostitutes.

The wheels are coming off the socialist bus.
Gov. Kathy Hochul slammed the brakes on supporting Zohran Mamdani’s $700 million call for free city buses — casting doubt that one of the far-left mayor-elect’s signature campaign promises has a smooth road ahead.
Hochul, speaking during a press conference at the SOMOS political retreat in Puerto Rico on Saturday, argued she has already put vast sums of money into the perpetually cash-strapped MTA for major projects. “We’re spending a lot of money, so I cannot set forth a plan right now that takes money out of a system that relies on the fares of the buses and the subways,” she said.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s exit from politics after nearly 40 years in the game is a stark reminder that too much of our political class is like her: long-haul careerists who cling to the reins of power — while making bank off their positions.
On Thursday, the ex-speaker announced she won’t seek a 20th term; she thus avoids a potentially tough primary battle against former AOC Chief of Staff Saikat Chakrabarti.
She wasn’t eager to go: Until now, she’d been pointedly prepping for another run at age 85, defying younger members of her party (including, reportedly, House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, 55) who wanted her to let

The Schumer shutdown is nearing its end, with a deal soon headed to the House, where it's expected to pass. Eight Senate Democrats joined with Republicans to override the frothing mouths of their colleagues, who seem to think they can placate their base by shouting "fight" enough times. It's not the mid-2010s anymore, though. The failure theater of performing on social media while winking and nodding at the surrender isn't enough for the horror show of a base the Democratic Party has coddled over the years. On that note, left-wing echo chamber Bluesky is in the process of a total meltdown over the deal. Here's just a small sampling.

The government shutdown has come for the preferred mode of transportation for media moguls and the celebrity class: private jets.
While the Senate made moves late Sunday night to begin the process of ending the shutdown, which has now stretched beyond 40 days, staffing shortages among currently unpaid air traffic controllers have forced the FAA to place limits on flights so as not to overburden the airspace.
Last week that meant initiating a 10 percent reduction in flights at airports across the country. As of Monday, that order now effectively shut down private jet travel at some of the most important airports in the country,

The current economic indicators, at least those attributable to the 10-month Trump administration, are strong. Fourth-quarter GDP is estimated to grow between 2.7 and 4 percent, the robust latter figure according to the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank. Inflation from June to August ranged from 2.7 to 2.9 percent, significantly lower than the 5 percent annual average during Biden’s 2021-2025 term. Gas prices now average $2.98 per gallon, compared to $3.46, the average cost during Biden’s four years.
In less than a year, Trump has increased oil production by one million barrels per day.

After rejecting a $25 million deal with ICE, Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux claimed the partnership would bring “no value at all.”
Comeaux defended his decision against partnering with ICE in a joint hearing of the Dallas Public Safety Committee and Government Efficiency Committee on November 6.
As The Dallas Express reported, Comeaux recently rejected a $25 million partnership with ICE under the 287(g) program, which gives funding and immigration authority to local police.
“Can you explain to me if there would be any value for us to be involved in this 287(g) program?” asked Councilman Bill Roth.
“I see no value at all for us to be involved in this program,” Comeaux replied.

Patel's travel has been the subject of a whisper campaign in Washington circles echoed by legacy news sites since he took office in late February, but the flight logs show he actually has flown the FBI jet slightly less often than ex-Director James Comey and slightly more than his immediate predecessor Christopher Wray.

This statement [by senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya that the group will "accumulate capabilities to move towards the liberation of Palestine"] contradicts recent remarks by White House Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, who said that Hamas officials told him and Jared Kushner that the terror group will disarm.
If Hamas had any real intention of laying down its weapons, its leaders would not be participating in a conference that has come out in public against disarming terror groups in the Middle East. If Hamas were serious about implementing the Trump plan, it would not be participating in a conference that rejects it.

One of the main issues produced by the Schumer Shutdown has been how it's affected air traffic.
While air traffic controllers are still required to work, it's making people work without pay. Several of those workers are simply not coming in, and it's putting a real strain on the ability to handle flights. That's troubling.
Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy has already detailed the problems it's been causing and that it's likely to lead to even more chaos if they don't make a deal soon. Former member of Congress and current candidate for governor of California, Katie Porter, has been trying to up her profile for the race.

A disastrous shutdown for Democrats got worse Sunday when Senate Democrats folded on government funding while receiving nothing of substance in return.
Eight Senate Democrats voted with 42 Republicans Sunday night on a procedural vote to allow a continuing resolution (CR) funding the government to advance. The motion passed 60 to 40, without a single vote to spare, and will enable a future vote on a clean continuing resolution through January 30, 2026, packaged with three relatively non-controversial appropriations bills extending through the fiscal year: agriculture, military construction-Veterans Affairs, and legislative branch.

California has the trendiest, and most foolish, energy policies in the U.S. The result is a return to the early ’70s, when drivers lined up around the block, hoping and praying the gasoline wouldn’t run out before they got to the pumps.
“California’s oil industry now sits at the precipice of complete collapse,” says Edward Ring, director of water and energy policy at the California Policy Center, “and if that happens, more imports will not prevent lines at the pumps.”
How could California, which has the sixth most proved crude reserves in the country, be looking over the edge of a gasoline crisis?

The Senate advanced a bipartisan deal late Sunday to end the record-breaking government shutdown, overcoming the biggest procedural hang-up that has been used to keep Uncle Sam’s lights off for the past 40 days.
In a 60-40 vote — with eight Democratic-leaning senators joining Republicans — the Senate invoked cloture to break the filibuster and move forward with a bipartisan spending patch to fund the government through Jan. 30, 2026, as well as a “minibus” package that will fully restore food stamp benefits.

The New York Times headlines: “Hegseth is purging military leaders and offering little explanation.” Subhed: “The moves to fire or sideline generals and admirals are without precedent in recent decades and have rattled the top brass.”
I think the Times totally fails to understand that most of us will see this as good news.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has fired or sidelined at least two dozen generals and admirals over the past nine months in a series of ousters that could reshape the U.S. military for years to come.
His actions, which are without precedent in recent decades, have come with little explanation. In many cases
