Rey doesn’t sweat. That’s the first sign something’s wrong. Luke Skywalker staggered through deserts, lost his hand, and watched his mentors die. He began ignorant and untrained, a boy who had to be humbled before he could be strong. Every lesson cost him. Rey, though, arrives on-screen born finished, like Athena from the skull of Zeus, armed, certain, and already right. She can fight, fly, and fix anything. No apprenticeship, no scars, no descent. She isn’t becoming a hero; she’s declaring herself one. We’ve all met her, long before Disney mixed lightsabers with magic. She was the girl in school who treated advice as an insult, who corrected the teacher, who surrounded

Thanks for posting, OP. This is interesting and original. Visiting PJ Media and the other Salem Media websites is beginning to seem like a waste of time since so much of their content simply repeats what I have already read elsewhere.

All media, as of late, is guilty of this. I'm a sci-fi nerd and like to unwind with space operas after work: Star Wars: Acolyte. A practically perfect black female is wonderful and does wonderful things, and I got bored and stop watching. Also a fat, ineffective, Jedi male, instead of a honed, elite, warrior. Painful, stopped after one episode and just kind of skipped around. Somehow involves lesbian Force witches. Made me anti-Star Wars. This is from a grown man who still has his Darth Vader Tie Fighter he got for Hanukkah in 1982. Marvel: Iron Heart. A practically perfect black female scientist is oppressed by evil white men and does everything Tony Stark (Iron Man) did, but better. Lasted 15 minutes. Marvel: Captain Marvel. Somehow the lead male character is now a female and is practically perfect in every way. Caught snippets and couldn't watch. Star Trek: Discovery. A practically perfect black female is somehow Spok's sister (and human) and smarter, better, and just practically perfect in every way. Oppressed by white males with pointy ears. Her entire crew is gay or fat or gay and fat. Lasted a few episodes. And on and on.

Well, give them a break. They just can't help themselves. The writers, producers etc feel it's their moral duty (and preen themselves as progressive warriors) to push the narrative. If you are black, female or the current oppressed of the day, this is what you get. Since we are old, we never go to theaters anymore or watch certain streaming movies or shows. I have a good nose for smelling out something that will have the woke odor and just pass on it. Life is too short to be propagandized while just trying to enjoy a little entertainment.

Go woke, go broke. Amazing how many established franchises this has happened to. They sacrifice their base audience for some mythological woke audience that does not exist. Seen it with movies, TV, comics, and computer games. Same thing over and over. Everything woke touches turns to slop.

Wind and solar energy are both intermittent and weather-dependent, while our needs for electricity are constant. How, then, to make them viable? Batteries! What batteries? Big ones. Do such batteries exist? Not exactly. Australia’s left-wing government has been trying to transition from coal power to wind and solar, without success. Most recently, a giant battery facility at Waratah, not yet in operation, has suffered a catastrophic failure and will be off-line indefinitely. The facility is huge: The one-billion-dollar Waratah Super Battery is rated at 850 MW (1680 MWh) — in other words, it can deliver 850 megawatts of power for about two hours before it’s a flat battery. Somehow, two hours doesn’t

For reasons known only to herself, former First Lady Michelle Obama has been on an extended whinefest the last few months, consistently moaning about her oh-so-awful life as a multi-millionaire and complaining about her past treatment from the press, who in reality treated her like some sort of goddess despite the fact that she is bitter, unsympathetic, and utterly entitled. In one of her recent rants, she went after Trump’s plans to (self-finance) a White House ballroom, which would serve the nation long after he is gone from office. The horror! First and foremost, on this Veterans Day, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and steadfast devotion of our vets; brave men and women who’ve put everything on the line to protect our freedoms. It's my sincere hope that our veterans feel and experience the gratitude they are owed, perhaps more than words can express. As a proud son of a United States Marine and member of the Greatest Generation, who, as a 23-year-old from a town of less than 1,000, drove a tank onto the black-sand beach of Iwo Jima in what would prove to be one of the costliest battles of World War II, I will be forever grateful

Kamala Harris is continuing her push toward yet another run for president, and that's leading to some awkward exchanges. As RedState reported, the failed 2024 Democrat nominee and former vice president is peddling a new book, doing her best to rewrite history in her favor. Part of that requires convincing Americans that she wasn't given a fair shot, both because of Joe Biden's late exit from the race and the dynamics surrounding President Donald Trump. Of course, that's not really the truth, is it? She's going to try, though, and that apparently includes claiming her 2024 campaign was "3D chess" in which she outmaneuvered Trump.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk and the subsequent behaviors on the part of a shocking number of leftists ever since have proven that the battle between good and evil rages on greater than ever in America and the world. In my life, while evil may have existed throughout society at the same levels as today, it was never this brazen. But here we are. And by “here,” I’m talking specifically about the latest public display of pure evil that happened at the University of California at Berkeley last night when Turning Point USA (TPUSA) tried to host an event. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier on Monday launched an investigation into JPMorgan over its failure to notify President Donald Trump that former Special Counsel Jack Smith was seeking Trump Media's bank records as part of the Arctic Frost probe. Trump Media and Technology Group CEO Devin Nunes on Sunday tore into Smith and JPMorgan for its efforts to obtain the company's bank records and emphasized that the company did not exist in 2021, when the January 6 riot occurred. Uthmeier notified JPMorgan Chase of the investigation in a letter, which also comes after the Biden administration was accused of spying on Republican senators and lawmakers as part of the Arctic Frost investigation.

Celebrity entitlement is rarely more stunning than when an actor publicly lectures a corporation on “fascism” while omitting any basic human decency in the same breath. So when Star Wars actor Oscar Isaac declared he’d only work with The Walt Disney Company again if they could “figure it out and, you know, not succumb to fascism,” it raised a question worth asking: Are celebrities this dense, or this indecent? Let’s pause. Disney is a publicly traded corporation with a legal obligation to its shareholders. Its executives must maximize value, which means developing programming that attracts broad audiences, protects advertisers, and safeguards the company’s market position. That’s not ideology—that’s economics.

Democrats are the evil party, but that doesn’t mean they’re stupid. In fact, I often have to remind people that they are evil, not stupid, to explain why they do the things they do. They know what they’re doing, and you should too. It explains why, after more than 6 weeks, they suddenly decided to vote to reopen the government. It wasn’t because they felt people were suffering – you don’t subscribe to a political philosophy responsible for 100 million deaths in the last century if you have concern over suffering – but because it was electoral politics, plain and simple. What changed the “principled stance” Democrats had been taking?

A bloody brawl broke out at a sold-out event for Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA at the University of California, Berkeley — with keffiyeh-clad protesters clashing with attendees and cops in disturbing scenes. One man could be seen with blood gushing from his face after getting into a fight with an agitator as the campus event for the group was kicking off late Monday, Fox News reported. Police were spotted pulling the two men apart as anti-Turning Point demonstrators – including some donning keffiyehs – tried to intervene. At least two people had already been arrested, including one for battery, before the event got underway, police said.
