ATLANTA — Months after escaping, the final inmate who got out of a Louisiana jail is back in custody. The Louisiana State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service told WSB that Derrick Groves was part of a brief standoff on Wednesday. Groves, who was in prison for murder after shooting two people in 2018, was one of 10 inmates who got out of the Orleans Justice Center in May by opening a faulty jail cell door, moving a toilet and squeezing through a hole.

Good. No one has ever escaped from a coffin after the death penalty. He killed two people....should be in the ground.

I like how they call it a “Louisiana Jail” instead of a New Orleans jail. New Orleans has a long history of incompetence and they don’t want to make a black run city look bad.

The U.S. Supreme Court seems poised to rule against Colorado’s law banning so-called conversion therapy for LGBT youth. During a hearing on Oct. 7, several justices appeared sympathetic to a therapist’s challenge to the ban on the grounds that it violates her First Amendment rights to free speech. Lower courts had ruled that the law regulates a therapist’s conduct, finding that any infringement on her speech was incidental. Colorado’s Prohibit Conversion Therapy for a Minor Law was enacted in 2019, and bans licensed therapists from trying to “change an individual’s sexual orientation, including efforts to change behaviors or gender expressions, or to eliminate or reduce sexual or romantic attraction or feelings

The most destructive inferno in Los Angeles history, which charred a devastating path through Pacific Palisades and Malibu in early January, was a rekindling fire that an Uber driver intentionally set days earlier near a popular hiking area, federal investigators alleged. Authorities on Wednesday also announced the arrest of 29-year-old Jonathan Rinderknecht, who is suspected of setting the initial fire on New Year’s Eve. Rinderknecht, of Florida, was charged with maliciously starting what eventually became the Palisades fire. Among the evidence that was collected from his digital devices was an image he generated on ChatGPT depicting a burning city, said U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli.

As the government shutdown goes into its second week, Democrats have found an unlikely ally as they hope to extend subsidies for the Affordable Care Act’s health insurance marketplace: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). On Monday evening, Greene posted on X how she did not like the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, but had come to a stark reality about it. “Let’s just say as nicely as possible, I’m not a fan,” she said. “But I’m going to go against everyone on this issue because when the tax credits expire this year my own adult children’s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE, along with all the

Katie Porter threatened to walk out of an interview with a local CBS News affiliate after the reporter asked several follow-up questions about whether her support for Democrats’ congressional redistricting measure would alienate Republican voters. The on-camera sitdown with Porter, a frontrunner in the gubernatorial race, grew confrontational after the reporter, Julie Watts, asked: “What do you say to the 40 percent of California voters — who you’ll need in order to win — who voted for Trump?”

Virginia Democrats have taken up the task of defending attorney general candidate Jay Jones after newly surfaced text messages show Jones fantasizing about murdering Republicans and their children. A group of Democrat committees rushed to Jones’ defense, insisting, “Let those without sin cast the first stone” — as if calling for the murder of an opponent and his children is a common human mistake. In a newly released 2022 exchange with Republican House Delegate Carrie Coyner, Jones said it would be a “good thing” if his former legislative colleague’s children died.

Virginia’s Democrat candidates for governor and lieutenant governor, Abigail Spanberger and Ghazala Hashmi, are refusing to withdraw their support for Democrat Jay Jones’ attorney general bid after the latter’s comments fantasizing about shooting a Republican lawmaker became public. The revelation comes after the Friday release of a bombshell National Review report disclosing 2022 text messages Jones sent to a GOP state legislator. As The Federalist’s Breccan Thies summarized, the Democrat now running to serve as Virginia’s chief law enforcement officer mused “about assassinating then-state House Speaker Todd Gilbert, a Republican, and ‘wished’ death upon Gilbert’s children.”

China is actively preparing for war against the United States. The signs are obvious and ominous. During the Biden regime, we saw the first signs of it. The Chinese began a campaign of "elite capture" in the Western Pacific, quietly buying legislators until they controlled the parliaments of at least eight nations and then negotiating defense agreements, that, in the case of the Solomon Islands, gives China the right to deploy troops there to put down civil unrest; see China Seeks to Buy Eight Pacific Island Nations While Joe Biden and His State Department Are Comatose – RedState. The Trump administration's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention put the nail in the coffin of one-size-fits-all COVID-19 vaccine recommendations Monday, updating its children and adult vaccination schedules to encourage physicians, nurses and pharmacists to discuss harms and benefits from vaccination specific to each patient before they get jabbed. The document revealing the spy effort was recently turned over to lawmakers and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) released it to the public on Monday. “Based on the evidence to-date, Arctic Frost and related weaponization by federal law enforcement under Biden was arguably worse than Watergate,” Grassley said in a statement.
