After almost 20 years, PBS is reviving its fan-favorite “Reading Rainbow” kids educational show—this time, with a cast of woke hosts.
If you were looking for another reason to justify the defunding of PBS, now you have one.
“Reading Rainbow,” trademarked by the Western New York Public Broadcasting Association, first aired in 1983 to help kids continue reading through the summer to keep their minds sharp and avoid the “summer loss” phenomenon. The read-along show ran for 26 years until funding dried up in the 2000s.
But on Monday, “Reading Rainbow” posted a short video announcing a new season—meeting with fanfare from

Having grown up Catholic, and having attended Catholic mass quite recently, I feel particular sadness over the following story.
In fact, it reminded me of why I once turned to one of history’s greatest Anglicans, the legendary Christian author C.S. Lewis, for help with understanding what lies at the core of Christianity, as well as why Christians of different denominations feel so strongly about their differences.
In a video posted to YouTube on Tuesday, a reporter from the Catholic television network EWTN asked Pope Leo XIV to help people of faith understand a decision by Cardinal Blase Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago, to honor pro-abortion Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois,

To the clowns on the Left who think that Charlie Kirk will be forgotten in five years, you’re about to get wrecked. First, most predictions by liberals are trash. They thought Trump couldn’t win again: he steamrolled back into the White House. These people are unhinged, unserious, and unrelatable. Mute their whining, because it’s just incoherent garbage anyway. Kirk was assassinated while answering questions on September 10 at Utah Valley University in Orem. Since then, the outpouring of prayers and calls to action has caught the attention of one unlikely demographic—older Americans.

Wikipedia, launched in 2001, has grown into the seventh most-visited website globally, boasting over 64 million pages (7 million articles) across 329 languages and attracting more than 4 billion visits each month. Officially, Wikipedia operates under the policies of "verifiability" and "neutrality," but in practice, the world's largest online encyclopedia has been hijacked by left-wing activists who manipulate narratives and silence dissenting viewpoints. The danger is no longer confined to everyday readers seeking truth, as today's leading AI models are being trained on biased garbage.
Given this backdrop and Musk's stated pursuit of truth to advance civilization, he revealed Tuesday morning that his team at xAI

The flying of the Chinese flag over Philadelphia City Hall to promote cultural ties has been criticized as supporting the authoritarian government in Beijing.
The flag’s raising by the city’s Office of Immigrant Affairs is to mark the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and promote cultural exchange between Philadelphia and its Chinese sister city, Tianjin, according to reports.
But it has prompted an angry appeal by a U.S. lawmaker to Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker to scrap the plan.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Tuesday a slew of new personnel fitness and grooming directives going after “fat general” and “beardos” in the military.
The new directives will require all military members to pass two fitness tests a year, regardless of rank, and to meet the highest combat standards previously reserved only for men, Hegseth said during his speech at Quantico to senior military leaders. He also announced he would strictly enforce grooming standards for all military members, with exceptions for special operations forces.
Hegseth made elevating standards a top priority of his tenure after years of declining standards often intended to lower barriers to entry and attract more recruits.

JPMorgan Chase & Co now employs more workers in Texas than in New York state — something one top city business advocate called a “scary” development.
And it’s not just the investment giant, there are more jobs in the banking sector in the Lone Star State than in New York, once the unrivaled financial services capital of the country and world, said Kathryn Wylde, president and CEO of the Partnership for New York City.
“Right now, the big challenge is are we going to remain competitive for jobs?” Wylde said Sunday on WABC 770 AM the “Cats Roundtable” program. “The financial services industry, they’re our biggest taxpayers and major employers

The Republic of Ireland will offer families of supposed asylum seekers up to €10,000 to drop their claims and voluntarily leave the country, in an apparent admission that the government’s open borders policies have gone too far.
Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan has signed an order to increase the voluntary return grant for alleged asylum seekers, increasing the payout to €2,500 ($2,900) for individuals or €10,000 ($11,700) for families who willingly drop their asylum claims and leave the country, The Irish Times reports.
This is nearly double the previous payouts, which stood at €1,500 ($1,800) per person or €6,000 ($7,000) per family, prior to the order from Minister O’Callaghan.

The defense won’t waive its right to a preliminary hearing but needs more time before a date is set, the court-appointed attorney for Tyler James Robinson, the 22-year-old man charged with the murder of conservative leader Charlie Kirk, said Monday during a Utah County court waiver hearing.
Kathryn Nester, Robinson’s lawyer, told Judge Tony Graf in the Provo courtroom that she needs at least another month to weigh through a massive amount of documents before further discussion about a preliminary hearing.
Graf set another waiver hearing for 10 a.m. Mountain Standard Time Oct. 30, and the prosecution and defense had no objections to the date and time.

The Trump administration announced Monday that it will unlock over 13 million acres for coal leasing on federal land, roll back regulations and invest $625 million into the coal industry as part of a multi-agency initiative.
The Department of the Interior (DOI), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE) all announced while at a DOI-hosted “beautiful, clean coal” event that the agencies will do their part to bolster the coal industry in line with President Donald Trump’s energy agenda. In contrast, the Biden administration imposed stringent regulations on the coal industry, with former President Joe Biden vowing to shut coal “plants down all across America,”

The NFL beclowned itself again by announcing that anti-American Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny will headline the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show.
As a reminder, Bad Bunny (real name: Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio) previously said he would not make a U.S. stop on his world tour for fear his fans might get caught in ICE raids.
By saying this, the rapper implied that his fan base is largely comprised of illegal aliens who streamed across the southern border.
As it is, Bad Bunny has a consistent track record of being on the wrong side of history: In addition to supporting unfettered illegal immigration, he championed the race-hustling Black Lives Matter grift and endorsed
