Computer industry executives, economists, government officials and businesspeople all seem to be very high on the prospects for artificial intelligence (AI). But what about average Americans? AI is dangerous in the way that all new technology is dangerous. In the early stages, it will be problematic. People will expect certain capabilities that are not really mature enough to do the job well. People will have confidence in the technology that is not justified. As with all technology, it will get refined and improved over time. As to jobs, of course some jobs will no longer be required. Those jobs right now are filled because there is a need for them. Many people will transition smoothly to other opportunities, some that are new because AI will open new paths for work. Some people will struggle to transition. This is an old and unending story. Technological societies are continually evolving. We used to have telephone switchboard operators. Now that job doesn't exist. But there are numerous jobs building new cell phones and the numerous applications that run on them. The apps allow people that use them to be more efficient and creative, even establishing new jobs that can make use of that technology. There will even be new jobs that help people transition through the disruption of introducing AI technology. From an AI lookup: An ancient concept, most famously attributed to the Greek philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus (c. 535–475 BCE), who observed that the universe and all within it are in a perpetual state of flux. The idea suggests that change is an inherent and unavoidable aspect of existence, and therefore, the only thing we can truly expect to remain consistent is the fact that everything else will change. Learning to flow within that change is one of the most valuable of life skills.

The danger from AI is that it is being programmed to believe that truth is relative. Specifically, it is programmed not to treat anything as absolutely true (possibly excepting math).

This is like asking - Is fire dangerous? Well, yes and no. Unfortunately, at this stage we have little children playing with matches. As well as evil minded arsonists who need being watched over and controlled if required.

Trump is reshoring trillions of dollars of jobs back into the USA: manufacturing, drug companies, rare minerals, steel production, autos, and many others. Someone will need to build all those data centers, servers, and expand the electric grid. The infrastructure of the nation is in tatters. Crime is rampant with many positions in law enforcement. The population is aging. Maybe we could train an American doctor and nurse. Who is going to build and maintain all those robots that are going to do everything? As illegals are deported, who will do all those jobs Americans won't do? With all this automation and software comes cybercriminals. We are extremely short on cybersecurity enforcement. Who is going to fill all those jobs in the defense industry, more ammo, new F47's? There are tremendous needs for work around the world. Americans are free to work outside the USA.

Is AI dangerous? Only for those who cannot think for themselves. Will AI cost jobs? Technology costs jobs. I can imagine some day in the distant future where only a small percentage of the population will be able to find work because everything is automated. What would it do to the economy? What will the world look like? It shouldn't come as a surprise. Look how much the world has changed in the last century.

I'll bet it eliminates the need for most government jobs as much of the work can be automated. Much like ATM's eliminated the basic functions for banks.

AI is only useful to wade through mountains of information. I work in a high technical niche area of computing, and we use AI to assist in diagnosing issues with the systems. A human needs to evaluate the returns from AI, since many times it will lead you down a path that eventually loops back on itself. The real issue is there isn’t any innovation using AI, why figure out a better approach when I can ask to see what others have done…

We have long marveled at the virulence of Trump Derangement Syndrome. So why doesn’t the president use it to his own – and the nation’s – benefit? In matters big and small, if President Donald Trump says one thing, masses of leftists and never-Trumpers will insist the opposite is true. After Trump suggested that pregnant women not take Tylenol because it could pose an autism risk to their unborn children, expectant moms swarmed social media with videos of themselves downing the painkiller. After the Trump administration announced it would approve an old drug as a treatment for autism, CBS News went back and altered

Once again, we are being treated to a fusillade of stories about the horrors of a government shutdown. But we invite readers to consider this: Roughly two-thirds of government spending will continue despite the “shutdown.” In other words, there is absolutely no reason for Republicans to cave on Democratic demands that Medicaid benefits for illegals and Obamacare subsidies for higher-income families be restored. The longer the federal government remains shut down, the more people will realize how meaningless it is, and the less leverage Democrats will have.

For years, we were told by government officials and outside “experts” that the terrorists in our midst were mostly right-wing fanatics – a list that under the Biden administration came to include parents who spoke up at local school board meetings and Catholics who like the Latin mass. But even the left is now admitting what everyone else already knows. Namely, that despite their constant bleating about tolerance and peace, it’s leftists who pose the greatest threat to Americans. This week, the Trump-hating Atlantic magazine published an article titled “Left-Wing Terrorism Is on the Rise,” written by scholars at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

It’s been amusing to watch the left’s reaction to ABC giving the boot to Jimmy Kimmel. Not because of their rank hypocrisy when it comes to censorship. Or their claim that firing a low-rated late-night “comic” means “authoritarianism has arrived.” Or the fact that they are far more outraged that Kimmel lost his time slot than that Charlie Kirk lost his life over things they said. What’s most amusing is how blissfully ignorant they are about how the news and entertainment industry works these days. First, let’s dispense with the censorship ruse. ABC is a private company and is entitled

For years, Kirk warned about the dangers of this movement. Not just its cultural consequences, but the deeper crisis of mental illness and violence it has unleashed across the nation.
