The suspect in Charlie Kirk’s assassination appears to be college-aged and used a high-powered bolt-action rifle to commit the harrowing murder, authorities revealed at a news conference Thursday morning.
Law enforcement recovered the weapon in a wooded area and obtained foot prints and palm prints from the suspect, who remains at large. The individual blended in well on the UVU campus given his apparent age.
“We have recovered what we believed is the weapon used in yesterday’s shooting. It is a high powered bolt action rifle.

Minutes after the news broke that conservative influencer and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University, ABC News broke in and seemingly suggested he had it coming for his “controversial” views and for going to a campus that didn’t want him there. “ABC news has confirmed conservative activists and podcaster Charlie Kirk has been shot during an event at Utah Valley University,” announced correspondent Kyra Phillips. “The founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative student organization, is known for his outspoken views on politics, culture, religion, often taking his messages to colleges and universities,

Several actors and celebrities across the political spectrum condemned the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk on Wednesday with no equivocations.
Arnold Schwarzenegger (The Terminator), a staunch critic of President Trump, called Kirk’s assassination a “horrible tragedy” and pleaded with Americans to find their better angels.
“My heart is with Charlie Kirk’s family, and with the United States. Politics has become a disease in this country, and it’s deadly. But don’t listen to the pessimists who say there is no cure. There is a cure. It is inside of us. We must find our better angels and walk back from the extremes.

Charlie Kirk’s assassination will change American politics forever by prompting a long-overdue crackdown on the radical left.
Had this horrific event taken place under a Democratic administration, we would expect that attention would focus on gun control.
Because it has taken place under a Republican administration that has already taken aim at the bastions of the institutional left, we can expect a dramatic law enforcement response.

Charlie Kirk should be alive today. He should be at home tonight with his beautiful wife and their two little children—three bright futures entwined with his own, now stolen away forever. He should be grinning that irrepressible grin, telling stories, cracking jokes, and planning his next campus stop. Instead, he was gunned down in Utah while doing what he always did: speaking directly to anyone willing to listen.
Charlie had a gift that made him unique in our movement. He carried himself like everyone’s little brother — fearless, approachable, quick with a smile.

God help us.
An assassin shot and killed Charlie Kirk at an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Kirk grew to fame by bringing an unapologetically conservative message to college students. On Wednesday, he was doing just that before a massive crowd on campus.
As of this writing, there is a lot we don’t know about this depraved crime, including the identity of the shooter. But what we do know is that the murder of Kirk, while he was engaging with young Americans, is a tragic loss for his wife and two children and a shocking event

On Wedneday afternoon, I was in studio doing a long-form podcast interview. One of the questions the host asked me during the interview was whether I had been personally attacked or been confronted with violence because of my investigative writing and political work. I told the host that so far I had been fortunate that any violence that has been spewed at me were only words on the screen. Two hours later, I completed the interview and got into my car. When I turned on the radio, I heard the news that TPUSA co-founder and CEO Charlie Kirk had been shot, and it was possibly catastrophic. Immediately it hit me

Far-left MSNBC released a pathetic apology on Wednesday night after its network’s senior political analyst, Matthew Dowd, said that Charlie Kirk’s “hate” was responsible for his own shooting.
Appearing on MSNBC’s afternoon program, anchor Katy Tur said, “Matthew, I’m going to bring you in on this. Talk to me about the environment. You know, we are, there are reports of exactly what happened are not confirmed yet. But talk to me about the environment in which a shooting like this happens.”
First, the hate-filled Dowd trolled Kirk’s loved ones and supporters by being deliberately absurd with the suggestion that Kirk might have been shot by one of his own supporters

Political analyst Matthew Dowd has been fired from MSNBC after his comments about the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, according to a network source.
During MSNBC’s coverage of Kirk’s shooting, anchor Katy Tur asked Dowd about “the environment in which a shooting like this happens.” Dowd responded with the following about Kirk: “He’s been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort of aimed at certain groups. And I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions. And I think

Former Vice President Kamala Harris says in her new memoir that Democrats’ decision to allow then-President Biden to decide whether he would run for reelection was driven by “recklessness.”
“‘It’s Joe and Jill’s decision.’ We all said that, like a mantra, as if we’d all been hypnotized,” Harris writes in a newly-released excerpt of her upcoming book on her unsuccessful presidential bid, 107 Days.
“Was it grace, or was it recklessness? In retrospect, I think it was recklessness,” she adds in the excerpt published by The Atlantic. “The stakes were simply too high. This wasn’t a choice that should have been left to an individual’s ego, an individual’s ambition.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — NASA’s Mars rover Perseverance has uncovered rocks in a dry river channel that may hold potential signs of ancient microscopic life, scientists reported Wednesday.
They stressed that in-depth analysis is needed of the sample gathered there by Perseverance — ideally in labs on Earth — before reaching any conclusions.
While acknowledging the latest analysis “certainly is not the final answer,” NASA’s science mission chief Nicky Fox said it’s ”the closest we’ve actually come to discovering ancient life on Mars.”
Roaming Mars since 2021, the rover cannot directly detect life, past or present. Instead,

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed by an assassin while on stage during a stop at Utah Valley University kicking off his American Comeback Tour Wednesday, just as he answered a question from an audience member about mass shootings committed by transgender people.
The shooter remains on the loose, sources told The Post, despite conflicting reports that an arrest was made. Video was circulating on social media showing an older man being hauled away by police.
Asked if Kirk was in the hospital, President Trump told The Post somberly, “He’s not doing well…yes, it looks very bad,” adding that he was feeling “not good” about the shooting.
