Charlie Kirk was shot and killed by an assassin while on stage during a stop at Utah Valley University kicking off his American Comeback Tour Wednesday, just as he answered a question from an audience member about mass shootings committed by transgender people. The shooter remains on the loose, sources told The Post, despite conflicting reports that an arrest was made. Video was circulating on social media showing an older man being hauled away by police. Asked if Kirk was in the hospital, President Trump told The Post somberly, “He’s not doing well…yes, it looks very bad,” adding that he was feeling “not good” about the shooting.

Nobody cares what Gavin Newsom has to say. He and his kind are the reason why this happened. They will continue trying to kill Trump and anyone who supports him because they are being encouraged to by their liberal leaders. What is it going to take to bring sense to the people in this country?

What a horrible event. Gunned down for what? For daring to express opinions the Left does not like. May he rest in eternal peace. And apparently the assassin is still on the loose.

Charlie Kirk was hit on the right side of his neck, most probably the round went clear through a major artery and caused immediate massive bleeding. I saw that on a video and it was terrible to watch.

How sad. Charlie was so full of life and compassion for a lot of horrible people who did not deserve it. He showed remarkable patience and manners as he carefully explained the truth of matters to many confused people who live by slogans they really don't understand. He will be missed. He was a courageous, smart, articulate hero. IF the media and rats had any shame, they would hang their heads for the culture they created that produces evil demons that want to hurt anyone they don't like.

Look at the long history of Marxism and you realize this is the modus operandi of the left. Kill any dissident that threatens your power. Marxists can't win in the arena of free speech, logic or debate so their alternative is to silence dissent through suppression of expression, i.e. censorship, imprisonment or, as in this case assassination. We can only hope that Tertullian's observation that "The blood of the martyrs waters the seed of the church" rings true in the death of Charlie Kirk and that it inspires more like him.

WASHINGTON — Following Charlie Kirk’s assassination, President Donald Trump may be uniquely positioned to tamp down the anger that suffuses American politics and lead a movement to bind up a bitterly divided country if he chooses. But, political strategists and officials from both parties told NBC News, that’s not the path Trump appears to be taking. Trump has been both a target of assassination attempts and a fount of vitriolic rhetoric. He knows firsthand the passions that drive American voters and, were he to renounce partisan attacks and call on others in both parties to do the same, that gesture could potentially send a healing message.

President Donald Trump said that investigators are “making big progress” in the hunt for the person who fatally shot conservative activist Charlie Kirk at a Utah event on Wednesday. “I hear they’re making big progress, and we’ll have to see what happens,” Trump told reporters before boarding Marine One en route to New York. He added that the shooter was “an animal” who would be “dealt with very appropriately.” When asked about a possible motive, Trump said, “I have an indication, yeah, but we’ll let you know about that later.” The president also confirmed he plans to attend Kirk’s funeral in Arizona in the coming days.

Trump told reporters outside the White House that he had spoken at length with Erika Frantzve, the 31-year-old conservative activist’s wife and mother of his two young children. “I spoke to Erika, his wife. And we had a long talk,” the commander in chief said. “And she’s devastated. She is absolutely devastated, as you can imagine.”

President Donald Trump on Thursday voiced concern for the country in the wake of the killing of conservative activist Charlie Cook, and said he wanted his supporters to respond with "nonviolence." Trump was asked if he's worried for his own safety in the wake of Wednesday's fatal shooting of Kirk as he left the White House for New York on Thursday afternoon. "Not really," the president responded. "I'm really concerned for out country. We have a great country. We have a radical left group of lunatics out there, just absolute lunatics, and we're going to get that problem solved. I'm only concerned for the country."

Charlie Kirk’s assassination will change American politics forever by prompting a long-overdue crackdown on the radical left. Because it has taken place under a Republican administration that has already taken aim at the bastions of the institutional left, we can expect a dramatic law enforcement response. Charlie Kirk should be alive today. He should be at home tonight with his beautiful wife and their two little children—three bright futures entwined with his own, now stolen away forever. He should be grinning that irrepressible grin, telling stories, cracking jokes, and planning his next campus stop. Instead, he was gunned down in Utah while doing what he always did: speaking directly to anyone willing to listen. Charlie had a gift that made him unique in our movement. He carried himself like everyone’s little brother — fearless, approachable, quick with a smile.
