Some of the biggest health industry news has dropped in the past week, which is no doubt why we Americans are being distracted by former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) directors and rogue Health and Human Services (HHS) staffers mounting a smear campaign against HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.[snip] On Wednesday, HHS Secretary Kennedy announced that the issue of Information Blocking would finally be addressed, and he detailed why in a video on X.

There's a Wednesday afternoon ruling out of the Massachusetts District Court in the Harvard funding case brought against the Trump administration by the university and several organizations challenging the administration's decision to freeze and ultimately terminate nearly $2.2 billion in federal grants to Harvard.
The New York Times is describing it largely as a win for Harvard — and it is, in some respects, but not in all of them:
Harvard University won a crucial legal victory in its clash with the Trump administration on Wednesday, when a federal judge said that the government had broken the law by freezing billions of dollars in research funds.

Months after a bitter public feud, US President Donald Trump has softened his tone toward former ally Elon Musk. Speaking on the Scott Jennings Show in an interview recorded Tuesday, Trump indicated that Musk’s political future would inevitably lead him back to the Republican Party.
"I don’t think he has a choice," Trump said, framing Musk’s options as a choice between the GOP on one side and "radical left lunatics" on the other. Despite their past differences, Trump largely complimented the billionaire and downplayed the dispute. "He’s a good man. He got off the reservation, incorrectly, and that’s okay, because, you know, it’s just one of those things," Trump added.

The deal, which is being finalized by Paramount’s lawyers and was first reported by Puck on Wednesday, sets CBS News on a course for a more conservative approach in line with CEO David Ellison’s vision. TheWrap’s reporting suggests it’s likely that Weiss will run CBS News.

The Jeffrey Epstein story was bound to become a circus, and the chances doubled once Democrats and the liberal media thought they could use it to take down President Donald Trump. Twice the Trump DOJ has asked the courts to permit the release of names associated with the case against Jeffrey Epstein and the victims of sex trafficking therein. Twice the courts have denied the Trump administration the ability to release the sealed Grand Jury records. [August 20th] and [July 23rd]
Most of the various victims of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking operation have previously been paid victim compensation amid various lawsuits including a substantial $290 million financial settlement from JPMorgan Bank in 2023, one of the financial institutions used by Epstein. These lawsuits resulted in what has been reported as ‘various non-disclosure agreements’ (NDAs), which the victims signed.

For years, Americans were told their only hope was to roll up their sleeves for Pfizer, Moderna, and the rest of the vaccine cartel.
Trillions of dollars flowed into their coffers while dissenting doctors were silenced, families were divided, and countless workers lost their jobs under vaccine mandates. However, a peer-reviewed study out of Germany now shows that a cheap, decades-old nasal spray, azelastine, may do what the so-called ‘miracle’ experimental COVID jabs never accomplished: stop infection.

I haven’t written about it here at The American Spectator, at least that I can remember, but I’m becoming a subscriber to the theory that Donald Trump is the kryptonite to Saul Alinsky’s Superman. Democrats and liberal media have relentlessly politicized the Jeffrey Epstein case because they seem more interested in trying to spin it as a Donald Trump scandal than in seeking justice for Epstein’s victims.
This political exploitation is glaringly obvious, given the Democrats’ own silence when they controlled Congress and the White House; they never released the Epstein files they claim are under wraps to protect Trump. Of course, that narrative just blew up in their faces after the Republican-controlled House Oversight Committee dumped roughly 34,000 pages of Epstein-related documents online, a long-overdue release.

That was my first reaction to the news that President Trump intends to give Rudy Giuliani the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
The announcement followed the serious weekend car crash in New Hampshire that sent the 81-year-old Giuliani to the hospital.
Thankfully, his injuries, said to include a broken vertebrae, are not life-threatening and he has been released from the hospital.
A likely result is Trump’s presentation will focus almost exclusively on Giuliani’s greatest achievement: His stellar tenure as New York’s mayor.

The surge in the couple’s wealth was first reported by the Washington Free Beacon on Monday. China and Russia have greenlit a new cross-border natural gas pipeline in a major win for Russian President Vladimir Putin, though questions about who pays what and at what price remain unresolved.
Once completed, the proposed Power of Siberia 2 pipeline could pump 50 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas per year into China—about 61 percent more than the 31 bcm delivered by the original Power of Siberia line in 2024. The new route would run through Mongolia from western Siberia's Yamal fields.

President Donald Trump has once again struck at the heart of the globalist machine, demanding federal racketeering charges against Democrat megadonor George Soros and his son, Alexander. For decades, Soros has funneled billions into organizations and movements that destabilize nations, bankroll violent protests, and manipulate democratic processes under the cover of “philanthropy.” His influence has stretched from American streets ─ funding BLM demonstrations, pro-Palestine agitators, disruptive protests in cities (like Los Angeles) — to violent uprisings and political meddling across Europe.

The order from Bowser comes as Trump in early August announced that he was “officially invoking section 740 of the district of Columbia Home Rule Act” and that the MPD would be placed under “direct federal control.” Trump also activated the National Guard.

For all the bellyaching, posturing, proselytizing, and threats of violence both implied and precise, the immigration enforcement operations that Trump's Department of Homeland Security has been running across the country don't seem to be having an impact on at least one surprising segment of the voting population - young, Latino voters, especially males.
Even before Trump was officially sworn in and Tom Homan's leash came off, there were signs that an inexplicable rightward shift was happening. For example, as much as it had to hurt them, NBC's national exit polls on Election Day had big red warning flags among the typically loyal Democratic demographic for nervous Harris supporters.

An Alaska man is petitioning the Supreme Court to consider whether the government's seizure of his $95,000 plane for transporting an illicit six-pack of beer is an excessive fine under the Eighth Amendment. The Institute for Justice, a public interest law firm, filed a petition for writ of certiorari today on behalf of Ken Jouppi, an 82-year-old Alaskan bush pilot, asking the Supreme Court to rule on whether states should consider the gravity of a defendant's specific offense, rather than an abstract view of the general crime. Jouppi was convicted of a misdemeanor when a passenger was attempting to bring beer to a "dry" village where alcohol is prohibited.
