The newly appointed Supreme Allied Commander Europe says he is moving “as quickly as possible” on sending new weapons to Ukraine as ordered by President Donald Trump, and warns preparations must be made for Russia supporting China in the feared future invasion of Taiwan. General Alexus Grynkewich, now two months in post at the head of Allied Command Operations told the Landeuro defence conference in Wiesbaden, Germany on Thursday that President Trump’s announcement earlier this week that new weapons would be rushed to Ukraine was being fulfilled.

When the Euroweenies say, "You need to..." their own needs and fears are driving it. Where were they when Biden and Austin were draining our weapons depots and the US Treasury for Ukraine?

Xi is reportedly having problems keeping his supporters in line, and feels that his power is threatened.
I wonder if, in his mind, an invasion of Taiwan would bolster his political stock?

China is not going to invade Taiwan. China is very vulnerable to cutoff of the sea lanes to China, which will happen, because they the US Navy will establish total control of them. Then, China's economy is failing, and it is going to get a lot worse, as the US has cut them off.

Who doubted this would result when Biden got us into the Ukraine?
He single-handedly reconstituted the "axis of evil."
The irony? One of the two had rejected communism.

If Gordon chang frequently on Newsmax is right...and he usually is when it comes to china...because he lived there...I'd say Xi is in trouble...not only with his economy ...but with the commie leaders in his own party...he's looking for some credibility ...and Russia helping him with the invasion of Taiwan could be it.....you scratch by back...I'll scratch yours...that could explain the Russians not willing to come to the peace table....

That alliance would probably work out as well as Musk and Trump. Can't see Putin and Xi humbling themselves. But with the Devil behind it, anything is possible.

NATO is a prime example of military industrial self preservation. Without a Russian threat NATO has no reason to exist.
How many know that, early in his presidency Putin suggested that Russia could join NATO. He was told to go to the back of the line of membership applications. A direct insult that NATO knew would kill the idea.

What exactly did NATO think Russia would do when NATO pushed them toward WW3? This entire Ukraine mess can be laid at the feet of Obama, Biden, the EU and especially NATO.

Invading Ukraine did not endear Putin to anybody, including the Russians. He exists only because any criticism or move against him guarantees instant death to the perpetrator. Likewise with Xi, the Chinese people have suffered for decades and if they sense a vulnerability or he increases their suffering through a war, he will not last long, but it's likely that an even worse communist hardliner will take his place. NATO has existed since 1949 chiefly out of the world's fear of Russia and they have found a benevolent uncle to finance their security ever since. It's difficult to employ logic against the blind thirst for power and insanity.

Give democrats a taste of their own medicine and evacuate all non-communists from Taiwan, sending the "refugees" to California to change their demographics and state government.

What we needed, a new General of Belarusian stock. We have been expanding NATO since Clinton the Bent One. We already did two European Wars and have been promised no more endless wars. Walk away and let Russia be Orthodox Christian.

I agree with #4.
Constraining Russian expansionism into territories once controlled by them may be a valid objective in isolation, but China is the real strategic threat to our country. They want Taiwan and have always intended to subsume it eventually.
One of my few reservations about President Trump is his mulish determination to alienate our allies and multiply his--and our--adversaries.
America will still be here after President Trump has left us to join the ranks of underestimated presidents. He will be in good company (Reagan, Eisenhower).
We will not. Alienating our allies strengthens our enemies. Note I didn't "friends." There is no friendship between nations; only shared interests and common enemies. Twice in the Twentieth Century we allied ourselves with Russian autocrats to defeat a common enemy. Stalin makes Putin look like a choir boy by comparison. Yet we allied with him and arguably saved his genocidal totalitarian empire because the alternative was worse.
An Independent Ukraine can do nothing to help us contain China. Whereas a Russia more hostile to China than to us would be a huge strategic advantage. Putin is neither a friend nor an ally, but we share a common interest. It's not clear to me what we gain by funding and arming his adversaries except his emnity.

To expand on #3's point, Chinese weapons are garbage. That's been displayed multiple times recently. The "transport carriers" they sold to Russia were golf carts painted in camo. They broke down almost immediately. China's much-touted new submarine struck China's own sub net on its maiden voyage and sank. It had to be towed back. There's no confirmation if there were survivors besides the divers who cut the net away and were unable to reenter the sub because no one responded to them. Pakistan and Iran were both using Chinese weapons and systems, and both were total failures. The US, on the other hand, has very effective bunker-busters and other goodies with a proven track record.

Maybe NATO should quit threatening Russia. NATO's warmongering is what drove Russia not only into alliance with china, but also gave them the excuse for their invasion of Ukraine
