Vladimir Putin has claimed the whole of Ukraine belongs to Russia and touted the creation of a "security zone", as Kyiv slammed his comments as "deranged". Speaking at the Russia's economic forum in his native Saint Petersburg on Friday, the Russian President, 72, repeated his assertion that Ukrainians and Russians are "one people" and that in "that sense, all of Ukraine is ours". He added: "There is a saying: wherever a Russian soldier sets foot, that is ours," as reported by The Sun.

Kiev has been around for 1500 years. It been conquered over and over again and has been incorporated in one empire, union, kingdom or other multiple times. Russia had it for maybe 240 years. The Russian claim is just the most recent.

On Sunday morning Russia's former president and current deputy chairman of the country's Security Council Dmitry Medvedev issued his reaction to the major US overnight strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, giving what's essentially the view of where things stand from the Kremlin. Medvedev in a ten-point list of reactions characterized the attacks as ultimately ineffective, and that it will blow back on America and Israel in a way opposite than intended, especially as Tehran will now only push harder for a nuke, and allied countries might now simply be willing to supply them to the Iranians, he described.

Hours after U.S. Air Force B-2 Spirit stealth bombers departed Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri en route to the Indo-Pacific region, President Trump announced that U.S. forces had "successfully attacked" three nuclear sites in Iran—Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. The president wrote on his Truth Social: We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home.

Since the start of the Israel-Iran war, X-accounts have been claiming that several Chinese aircraft have landed in Iran to supply the country with weapons. However, the main airline involved, Cargolux, has denied the allegations, and the photos from the flight tracking website Flightradar24 have been misconstrued. Since June 12, and the start of the war between Israel and Iran, many Internet users have been claiming that China is secretly supporting Iran militarily, based on images from Flightradar24, a website that enables live tracking of aircraft in flight.

Ukraine said on Tuesday that it had hit the bridge connecting Russia and the occupied Crimean Peninsula with explosives planted underwater, in its third attack on the vital supply line for Moscow’s forces since the full-scale war began in 2022. Ukraine’s security service, the SBU, said on Telegram that its agents had mined the piers of the road and rail Crimean Bridge, also called the Kerch Bridge, and detonated the first explosive at 4.44 a.m. Tuesday. The whole operation took several months, it added. The agency said it had used 1,100 kilograms of explosives which “severely damaged” the underwater pillars supporting the bridge.

Washington — In an explosive, sweeping interview, former senior State Department investigator David Asher—closely connected to the Trump administration’s financial and national security apparatus—warned that Canadian banks could soon face a “new universe” of regulatory scrutiny, including from the U.S. Treasury, due to the recent designation of Mexican cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. Asher, who contends that the “command” for Western Hemisphere money laundering of synthetic narcotics—including fentanyl, methamphetamine, and ecstasy sourced from Chinese precursors—is “largely run by Chinese triads in Canada,” also argues that this interconnected transnational network presents profound risks to Canadian financial institutions.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson unloaded on her Supreme Court colleagues Friday in a series of sharp dissents, castigating what she called a "pure textualism" approach to interpreting laws, which she said had become a pretext for securing their desired outcomes, and implying the conservative justices have strayed from their oath by showing favoritism to "moneyed interests." The attack on the court's conservative majority by the junior justice and member of the liberal wing is notably pointed and aggressive but stopped short of getting personal. It laid bare the stark divisions on the court and pent-up frustration in the minority over what Jackson described as inconsistent and unfair application of precedent

Trump said Thursday he would make a decision in the “next two weeks” to allow more time for negotiations, giving the sense of reprieve amid fevered speculation he might join Israel’s airstrikes. “Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks,”

Six U.S. B-2 intercontinental manned strategic bombers took out Iran's deepest nuclear bomb development sites today, in what could well prove to be the most historic and important decision President Donald Trump will have made when he leaves office in 2029. The radical Muslim tyranny that has ruled Iran since Jimmy Carter was president in the late 1970s has been killing Americans for decades. Iran's murderous acts began with the bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon and continued through a terrible toll of more than 600 Americans as of this day.
