If you were to ask any Democrat about germ warfare in the Americas, you’d almost surely hear from them about the time that “Americans” tried to kill Indians with smallpox-infected blankets. After all, it’s right there in Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States, the most read (and most Marxist) history book in American education. The fact that it was an officer in the British military, not the colonists, who did this once in 1763 is irrelevant. Our nation is tarred.
Given the Democrat obsession with this particular “germ warfare” (conducted at a time when germ theory didn’t exist and, moreover, it was an exercise that almost certainly failed)

Two Chinese nationals have been charged with allegedly smuggling into the U.S. a fungus called "Fusarium graminearum, which scientific literature classifies as a potential agroterrorism weapon," the Justice Department said Tuesday.
Yunqing Jian, 33, and Zunyong Liu, 34, citizens of the People’s Republic of China, were allegedly receiving Chinese government funding for their research, some of it at the University of Michigan, officials said.
"The complaint also alleges that Jian’s electronics contain information describing her membership in and loyalty to the Chinese Communist Party," a DOJ press release said.
"It is further alleged that Jian’s boyfriend, Liu, works at a Chinese university where he conducts research on the same pathogen

Elon Musk’s tirade against President Donald Trump’s "big, beautiful bill" has forced House Republicans to scramble to respond on Wednesday.
GOP lawmakers who had spent months praising Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) efforts are now working to avoid a war of words with the tech billionaire as he calls on them to scrap months of work in favor of a new budget reconciliation bill.
"He didn’t make it any easier for the bill," Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, R-Wis., told Fox News Digital.
He noted that the bill also had its opponents in the Senate, where at least three fiscal hawks are calling for deeper cuts

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Wednesday resurrected a hallmark policy of his first term, announcing that citizens of 12 countries would be banned from visiting the United States and those from seven others would face restrictions.
The ban takes effect Monday at 12:01 a.m., a cushion that avoids the chaos that unfolded at airports nationwide when a similar measure took effect with virtually no notice in 2017. Trump, who signaled plans for a new ban upon taking office in January, appears to be on firmer ground this time after the Supreme Court sided with him.

President Donald Trump signed a proclamation to suspend international visas for new students at Harvard University, the White House announced Wednesday, in a dramatic escalation of its efforts to block foreigners from enrolling at the elite university.
The proclamation blocks the entry of nearly all new Harvard student as nonimmigrants into the United States under visas most international students use to study at universities or participate in academic exchange programs in the country.
It also directs the Secretary of State “to consider revoking” those visas – known as F, M and J visas – for current Harvard students who meet the proclamation’s “criteria,” the White House said in a statement on Wednesday.

If the terrorist attack that happened Sunday in Boulder, Colorado, wasn't infuriating enough, what we learned about the alleged perpetrator once more details emerged made it even worse.
RedState's Bob Hoge reported in the aftermath of the attack that DHS confirmed the suspect involved in what's being described as a "flamethrower attack" was an illegal immigrant. 45-year-old Egyptian national, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, "entered the country in August 2022 on a B2 visa that expired on February 2023." DHS also noted that he "filed for asylum in September 2022."

During a Senate Judiciary subcommittee hearing on the abuse of nationwide injunctions yesterday, Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) took direct aim at University of Pennsylvania law professor Kate Shaw, wife of MSNBC’s Chris Hayes. What followed wasn’t just a pointed exchange; it was a complete intellectual beatdown. Of course, that's what always happens with Kennedy.
Shaw, invited by Democrats as an expert, quickly found herself exposed as a partisan hack, stammering and backpedaling while Kennedy dismantled her credibility piece by piece.
Kennedy confronted Shaw over her inconsistent views on universal injunctions — condemning them when used against Democrats, then suddenly embracing them under President Trump.

When a judge starts out his opinion with Kafka, you know you're in for a ride....
This case — J.G.G. v. Trump, involving the removal of Tren de Aragua (TdA) members pursuant to the Alien Enemies Act — has already been a ride-and-a-half. There's a new twist to it, as Judge James Boasberg has now issued a new ruling on the case. And, yes, his opinion begins with Kafka:
One morning, Kafka’s Josef K. awakens to encounter two strange men outside his room.
The case, of course, involves a planeload (or two) of Venezuelans — illegal aliens believed to be TdA members —

Democrat Congresswoman Becca Balint shared her perspective that immigrant labor in America serves a rather undesirable purpose.
If we don't have avenues for people to come here legally to work or to build a home here—I'm gonna be really crude right now. We're not gonna have anyone around to wipe our a**es because we don't have enough people."
The comments came while she was speaking to constituents at a town hall in Newport, Vermont. Balint is also proudly the first congresswoman for the state of Vermont. [Video]
Contrary to the claims made by Congresswoman Balint, avenues for legal immigration already exist in the United States.

A federal judge on Thursday blocked the Trump administration from deporting the family of Mohamad Soliman, the individual suspected of firebombing a gathering of Israel supporters in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday.
Judge Gordon P. Gallagher’s ruling stated that the administration cannot remove Soliman’s wife and five children from the District of Colorado or the United States pending a ruling from the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. “[T]he Court finds that deportation without process could work irreparable harm and an order must issue without notice due to the urgency this situation presents,” the judge wrote. When I was a nursing student decades ago, a doctor friend told me about an interesting case in which he performed a routine yearly checkup on a 12-year-old boy, including blood and urine tests, and to his surprise, this healthy-looking preteen had blood in his urine. The doctor promptly ordered an intravenous pyelogram (IPG) — now in medicine’s dinosaur museum — which revealed that in one of the youngster’s kidneys, the renal medulla — the innermost region — and the renal cortex — the outermost region — were reversed, and as a result, the aberrant kidney took four hours longer to collect and then empty the body of urine.

Columbia University failed to meet accreditation standards due to its inability to uphold civil rights law and punish harassment against Jewish students, the Department of Education announced Wednesday.
Office of Civil Rights (OCR) officials have notified the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the body that sets Columbia’s accreditation standards, that the university is “in violation of federal antidiscrimination laws and therefore fails to meet standards.” Administrators’ unwillingness to address months of anti-Israel activism on Columbia’s campus created an unsafe environment for Jewish students, the department added, putting the university in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The Republican megabill to codify President Donald Trump’s domestic policy agenda would add $2.4 trillion to the national debt over the next decade, according to an analysis from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office.
The CBO estimates the “Big, Beautiful Bill” would lower tax revenues by $3.7 trillion and cut spending $1.3 trillion, creating $2.4 trillion in new debt. The non-partisan analysis factors in last minute changes to the House Republican version of the bill, including stricter Medicaid work requirements and a higher State and Local Tax Deduction (SALT), a top demand for New York lawmakers.

The board—whose members include researchers, educators, and civic leaders—had been tasked with shaping the Department’s $900 million research agenda, including approving priorities, overseeing peer-reviewed grants, and advising on efforts to close achievement gaps across race, income, and disability status.

President Trump’s return to the White House is already paying off for public safety. Big time. According to new crime data, the U.S. murder rate has dropped more than 20% so far this year, a dramatic reversal from the lawless chaos that flourished under Biden’s soft-on-crime regime.
“Since President Trump took office, murder rates have plummeted across the entire United States,” press secretary Karoline Leavitt told The Daily Signal. “American families were promised their communities would be safer, and President Trump swiftly delivered by vocally being tough on crime, unequivocally backing law enforcement, and standing firm on violent criminals being held to the fullest extent of the law.”

The left has once again whipped up the craziness. We've seen them do this in the past, from Occupy to BLM. Now we're seeing actions over Israel, Tesla, and ICE as their protest objects.
Take the wild chaos on Tuesday when a group of federal agents gathered in South Minneapolis near Las Cuatro Milpas restaurant. People thought it was an ICE raid, so a large crowd gathered to try to stop the agents and block their movement. Local law enforcement was called in for crowd control. However, it had nothing to do with immigration enforcement, as Mayor Jacob Frey later stated.
