Current FBI Director Kash Patel is closing down the agency’s Washington, DC, mothership office and moving at least 1,500 employees out of the DC area to regional offices. During the Biden Administration, it was determined that the 50-year-old Hoover building headquarters was structurally decrepit. More germanely, no prior FBI director had ever explained why nearly a third of the FBI workforce was centered in offices in Washington, far from where most of the serious crime in America occurs.

Oh ...this is delicious...finally the FBI is gonna work in the field...where they belong...taking care of business across America...not centered in Washington DC where all the corrupt politicians are...and now WE know why comey wrote his book...it was to give himself credibility and the 86-47 shell game was to help sell his book on the Sunday talk shows....so predictable ...plotting and scheming for a place in the shows that hate President Trump....WE're on to ya....MAGA

The new HQ's will likely be in Virginia. Don't be distracted by FBI agents being dispatched somewhere else. The FBI is getting a new HQ's, and taxpayers are footing the bill, even though the GSA says half the government buildings are unoccupied, because half the government workers are working from home. We certainly could not have the "premier law enforcement agency", so described by Patel, occupy one of those unoccupied buildings. No, a new one MUST be constructed for the "premier law enforcement agency", which in actuality, is the premier state police agency, focused primarily on political work.

Author is not counting the illegal activities committed in the Capitol building.

The building should be used for a museum of government corruption. There would be plenty of exhibits to fill the building.

They can move them out of DC, but unless they get rid of the rot within, nothing will change.

They should move the FBI HQ to the middle of the USA, say to a cornfield in the middle of Kansas where purpose constructed buildings could be erected. In any case it will cost a lot of money to move 1500 career employees to wherever outside of DC.

A much more positive effect would come about if they tore it down while still occupied.

Move ‘em all. Wichita, or Kansas City, or Tulsa. Or how about Rapid City, SD? And move the USDA to Iowa and BLM back to Grand Junction. You can remove a lot of dead weight that way.

This is unacceptable. How many millions were spent to build that edifice and it is only lasting 50 years? This call for some serious investigation of the agencies involved in this.

The J. Edgar Hoover Building will be torn down before it falls down.
It's had screens around it for years to keep the falling concrete from hitting people in the street, the toilets don't work and the ceiling are falling. The contractors who built it got rich using bad cement in the construction.

"no prior FBI director had ever explained why nearly a third of the FBI workforce was centered in offices in Washington.."
Mueller had a policy followed by other subsequent directors that all must spend time at the HQ. Thus it grew in size and they (Mueller et al) were able to instill the corrupt ideology of the FBI in all those that served in DC and who remained there.

No more than 10% of the FBI should be at HQ. And HQ should NOT be in DC. How about in Omaha, or Pierre? Maybe Great Bend, Kansas.

1. I thought PDJT said all the workers should return to the offices at a certain date, no more working from home in their pj's. 2. It concerns me to have FBI agents scattered across this country with their corrupt ideology. I think they will just scatter the stink.
