It turns out that Secretary Treasury Scott Bessent was more than hinting at being close to striking a deal with China during trade talks in Switzerland, as my colleague Bob Hoge reported. The White House sent out a press release Sunday afternoon announcing a "China Trade Deal in Geneva."
