Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell on Friday reportedly signed an executive order to establish protocols for various Metro Nashville departments to provide the mayor’s office with any information deemed “immigration communications,” which might reflect forthcoming federal immigration enforcement in the city. O’Connell appears to have actually amended his Executive Order 30, which is titled Communications Between Federal Immigration Authorities and the Metropolitan Government. The order mandates any communication to Nashville police, fire, emergency management, or emergency communications personnel by federal immigration law enforcement, or their federal agencies, be reported to the Mayor’s Office of New Americans.

Reminder: Nashville, Tn is a dark blue dot in a state that is turning purple. I'll not blame thousands moving in from blue states but a Republican party that will not cull out democrat lites from the bona fide rolls and is happy to pad their own wallets/power. SERIOUSLY, the amount of crime occurring in downtown Nashville and the very area targeted by ICE should give you pause about visiting. This mayor is homegrown but a serious lefty. The city council and BOE are run by serious lefties. This is no longer the old family friendly Nashville of the Opry, Opryland, country music and neighborhoods. It's so sad to watch its decline.

This does not automatically infer any city interference with ICE will take place. The mayor rightfully wants a 'heads up' on operations in his city. Now if his 'honor' does, however.......

Let him set the whole system up, and then let Tom Homan's boys go in and seize the entire thing as evidence (never to be returned) to charge the mayor with violating 8 USC 1324. And send a couple of DOGE employees to locate the purchase orders and purge them so that the system can't be rebuilt at a later date.
