The Trump Counterrevolution and the Moral Ledger

Original Article

Despite the media hysteria, President Donald Trump's counterrevolution remains on course. Its ultimate fate will probably rest with the state of the economy by the November 2026 midterm elections. But its success also hinges on accomplishing what is right and long overdue -- and then making such reforms quietly, compassionately, and methodically. No country can long endure without sovereignty and security -- or with 10 to 12 million illegal immigrants crossing the border and half a million criminal foreign nationals roaming freely. The prior administration found that it was easy to destroy the border and welcome the influx.

I am surprised that there are not a jillion positive comments following Dr. Hanson's article. Loved it; especially the headline. I hope the President gets a chance to read it. Begins by telling us that President Trump's counterrevolution remains on course and "its success ... hinges on accomplishing what is right and long overdue." I agree. It truly is a ledger, itemizing things accomplished, things in the process of being accomplished, and things that others have ignored for decades, mumbling to themselves, "Nothing to see here." and moved on. Dr. Hanson writes about it all: sovereignty and security; legal-only immigration; 2 Trillion budget deficit; 3 Trillion national debt and 1.2 Trillion trade deficit, and so on. Ending sentence tells us that "Trump's counterrevolution is not failing - ethically bankrupt opposition has no idea how or whether even to stop it." Waited for someone else to make comment, but I did the best I could.

Thank you for posting, OP. It has been said many times before, but always bears repeating - Victor Davis Hanson is a national treasure. I came across this comment recently, in an old Bible commentary. It fits so well with the wisdom of this column by VDH. Just wanted to share it here, because of its profound relevance to our national situation, and how thankful I am for PDJT after the past four years of decisions for wrong. “From the time of Adam who, as the federal head of the whole human race, plunged mankind into ruin, it has been a solemn and undeniable fact that whole families, cities, and even nations, partake of the consequences of a single decision for right or wrong by a single individual.”

Correction to #1 comment - should read 37 Trillion national debt. Thanks very much #3 - (Knew I'd make a mistake. Scarey to review the teacher.)

As President Trump brings manufacturing back to the US — and closes in on trade deals with India, Japan, and South Korea — China’s days as “the world’s factory floor” are numbered. And Beijing is furious. In a move harking back to the Cultural Revolution, Chinese schoolchildren are again being taught to hate the US. Class time is devoted to shouting anti-American slogans like “China must win the China-US trade war!” China’s foreign ministry even released a video claiming that China “won’t kneel down” to the US, warning that bowing to US hegemony would be like drinking poison.

Last week, Michelle Obama offered the most ridiculous excuse for skipping Donald Trump’s inauguration, and let’s just say it didn’t do her any favors. On a podcast few people listen to—the one she does with her brother—she claimed she didn’t attend because she “had nothing to wear.” And the media ate it up as if that explanation made sense, completely ignoring the fact that a former first lady with unlimited resources couldn’t find a dress would be like Donald Trump claiming he doesn’t have enough ties.

A California railroad executive stole public funds and built a lavish apartment inside a historic train station where he lived while working eighty hours each week. Joseph Navarro was found guilty of using $42,000 to create his own private living space inside the Burlingame train station, 16 miles south of San Francisco, the San Mateo County District Attorney announced Thursday. Navarro, the former deputy director at Caltrain, furnished the private pad with a bedroom, living room and gym.The 67-year-old conspired with former station manager and TASI worker Seth Worden to approve building expenses to convert a part of the historic building into a dwelling, under the guise of an office remodel.

President Trump’s landslide victory last November was made possible in no small part by his vision of a new economic Golden Age. For far too long, Americans have been getting ripped off — and Trump is just the man to make it stop. But he will need the entire federal government to bring about this result. Every agency must do its part to repair the damage from four years of the Biden-Harris administration — as well as decades of swamp politicians who got rich while many Americans were left behind. The Federal Trade Commission is leading the way. In the last few weeks,

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. just confirmed what conservatives have known all along: the Deep State is real, and it's embedded within our federal agencies. During his first visit to the FDA alongside Commissioner Marty Makary, Kennedy didn't mince words when addressing FDA employees. And what he said validates everything President Trump has been saying for years. "President Trump always talks about the Deep State, and the media, you know, disparages him and says that he's paranoid," Kennedy stated. "But the Deep State is real. And it's not, you know,

History’s great Benjamin Franklin is credited with saying, “Nothing is certain except death and taxes.” I would paraphrase Franklin’s wise words with this update: “Nothing is certain except these people always being wrong: former Congressman Joe Walsh…MSNBC’s prince of darkness Lawrence O’Donnell…and virtually any cast member on The View.” This week has provided all the proof one needs to know how Trump Derangement Syndrome has poisoned the brain cells of these and other Trump haters. That list also includes Erik Erickson…Jonah Goldberg…the late Jennifer Rubin—

The technical term is “confidence game.” A crook gains the confidence of a victim (the “mark”) and preys upon their naivety, greed, and/or fear. Ultimately, the duped mark gives their money and/or property to the crook willingly. Consider this real-world example provided in Connie Fletcher’s 1991 book, What Cops Know: Today’s Police Tell the Inside Story of Their Work on America’s Streets, wherein an anonymous Chicago Police Department (CPD) detective reminisces about a con game he redressed: “One of the superintendents of the Chicago Police Department—his aunt was taken for $15,000…

Influencers — those obnoxious (and increasingly) political hype beasts who’ve defined much of internet life in the last decade — may finally be going the way of the Apple Watch: once a flashy trendsetter, now a garish relic. When a jacked-up fitness bro went viral in late March for a video flaunting his daily six-hour morning saga of 4 a.m. pushups, mineral water ice plunges, and banana peel facials, it was mocked into oblivion. Hipsters posted their own derisive morning routines, huffing on flavored vapes and chugging Red Bull; grannies filmed themselves putting in their dentures before settling in on the john.

Wretchardthecat has given us a sage analysis of the MAGA agenda: The reason the MAGA initiatives looked so disjointed to the media is they were component parts of a vast alternative worldview now coming into sight. Like the five blind men and the elephant the progressives are only now realizing the aspects of a single larger foe. Immigration control is a key feature of the MAGA initiatives: closing the border, removing illegal immigrants, keeping non-citizens from voting and stopping federal funds from going to so called non-government organizations who were bringing in millions of immigrants who overwhelmed housing, welfare, and educational budgets, committed crimes, and threatened national security.
The History of Palm Sunday 9 replies

The celebration of Palm Sunday originated in the Jerusalem Church, around the late fourth century. The early Palm Sunday ceremony consisted of prayers, hymns, and sermons recited by the clergy while the people walked to various holy sites throughout the city. At the final site, the place where Christ ascended into heaven, the clergy would read from the gospels concerning the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. In the early evening they would return to the city reciting: “Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord.

King Solomon said, “There is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). The sun rises, and the sun goes down… all streams run to the sea… what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun. In his prescience, King Solomon no doubt knew that one of the things that would remain the same was the obdurate persistence––over thousands of years––of maniacal Jew-hatred and a fanatical loathing of Israel. If it weren’t so serious, and deadly, it would be almost comical, considering that the massive, heavily armed, immensely populated, and hugely influential empires that tried to annihilate the Jews—the Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Assyrians,

Spring is in full throttle, with summer just around the corner. Around this time, events around me inevitably trigger the same two recurring questions, like clockwork, year after year after year. And the questions are these: Why do these teenage girls' parents let them leave the house dressed like NFL cheerleaders? Am I going to have to spend another summer weaving my car around rude bicyclists who think they own the road? It is this second question I'm currently pondering, as I witnessed earlier in the day some poor sap driving a car, stuck behind a gaggle of inconsiderate male bicyclists (the rude ones are always men),

Like most of us, I suppose, the shock to our system and way of life during the government’s response to COVID-19 cannot easily be forgotten. It was our taste of ill-considered government tyranny, a public-health disaster. As more information about its origins and how the disease was handled is revealed, it always gets my attention. In sum, banking on helping defeat Trump, the public-health establishment and media suppressed more credible options for dealing with a disease which was not life-threatening to most in order to promote a vaccine then in the works. The vaccine when it was developed and administered was not terribly effective and has itself caused substantial injury.

“Kindness is the beginning of cruelty.” —Frank Herbert Three years ago, the Democratic Party nominated John Fetterman to the Senate, despite his significant health problems. It wasn’t a secret: Fetterman’s brain trauma was on full display during his horrendous debate against Dr. Mehmet Oz, where he stammered, stuttered, and (repeatedly) lost his train of thought. Fetterman won anyway, beating Oz by nearly 5% points, helping the Democrats flip the only Senate seat of the 2022 midterms, giving the Donkeys control of the Senate for the first time since 2015. Michelle Obama was talking to actor Marlon Wayans, and her following is the entire question: "And, you know, that warms my heart. Particularly as a Black man, um, you know,

The Trump administration has made clear no additional debt forgiveness will be offered to borrowers as congressional Republicans look to revamp the student loan repayment system.

The calls for violence are growing louder and louder by the day. The agitators are calling for the assassination of public figures and elected officials; they are calling for acts of insurrection by federal and local law enforcement. These are actions that would very likely prompt a second civil war, but the agitators have no thought of that, or, on the few occasions when they register that possibility, seem somehow to think that their side would win. The people making these calls for violence are, of course, all members of the "progressive" left. Jonathan Turley recently penned an interesting piece on those people.
