President Trump has spoken nicely about Vladimir Putin as he brokers a peace deal between Moscow and Kyiv, but he’s also gently letting Vlad know he’ll need to make some real concessions, too: Ukraine should get its land back.
On Wednesday, Trump told reporters he aims “to make the best deal we can for both sides,” which “for Ukraine” means getting “as much back as possible.”
Good.
The Kremlin’s already bitten back at our president’s suggestion that Putin wouldn’t mind if some European troops serve in Ukraine to protect the peace; if it digs in on this front too,

This seems to be a sensible requirement. Rewarding imperialistic invasions is a very bad business.

Make sure that land is scrubbed of bioweapons labs, child sex trafficking and adrenochrome factories.

How does one make Russia give back land? It's a good idea, but how can it happen? Also important, how does one keep Russia from invading its neighbors again? They have a history of doing this. They will probably do this again. Suspect many of Russia's neighbors are nervously looking over their shoulders.

Please post links to credible sources, #2, or are you just making stuff up?

Thanks to the USA's gift of $350,000,000 of our tax dollars to Ukraine, this war quickly became a war of attrition. Russia has 5 or 6 times as many people as Ukraine (not to mention allies -- like North Korea -- that are also willing to send troops to fight for Russia). So you do the math.
Ukraine cannot win this war. The best they can hope for is a draw -- which is going to mean giving up some land for peace and "saving face". They have already lost large chunks of land, seen a massive percentage of their infrastructure destroyed, and lost a whole generation of young men. It's time to take that draw and rebuild for the future. No, it's not "fair", but you have to deal with reality.
Russia can't lose this war. But they have also lost a lot of young men (probably more than Ukraine, but, as stated above, they have far more young men to lose) and decimated their weapons stockpiles. The rest of the world doesn't like them very much either. At this point, I'm betting they will take a draw as long as they can also claim a "moral victory" in stopping the war.
President Trump is a pragmatist. He doesn't play political games. And he knows that this war is useless and evil for everyone concerned. It needs to end, and it needs to end now!!!!!

What #5 said, but add three zeros! We have a Dim party that can't put a fire out it's so incompetent, and they want to destroy all competence everywhere. The rest of us don't want to expand our role in NATO while the Europeans sit back and take a vacation.
Russia will prevail when our money slows as it always does- look at history. Hundreds of thousands more will die and either we do in 2 years what could be done now or Putin takes all of Ukraine. Or Europe gives Zelinsky the big army he said he wants yesterday.

Mother Russia has always been somewhat paranoid and if you as a neighbor show belligeristic tendencies, FAFO.
Z's demand that Ukraine be accepted into NATO triggered this and President Pudding Brain didn't shut him down at all. Russia invaded, but I've always only felt sorry for the average Ukranian citizen because their kleptocrat leaders weren't looking out for them, they were looking for the next score.
Let Europe step in.....they helped start this.

Putin fully intended to do that all along. He's playing an end game.
What he truly wants is the two sections of Ukraine that are mostly Russian and he wants a land bridge down to Crimea. Oh ... and no more NATO countries touching his border.

You can argue right and wrong all day long...but it still comes to this....it is not 3 years ago...it's 2025 and Ukraine needs America and that means President Trump...just as Putin understands The Trump Doctrine isn't perfect...but he wants to end the war too....and a reconstructed Ukraine looks good to the Russian people...who are now war weary as well...and their economy is tanking...and Putin ...unlike Zelinsky does not want to confront President Trump....

#4, we both know that no matter what I posted to support these claims, you would dismiss them. Russia took the receipts to the UN shortly after the start of its clean up operation in Ukraine began. It is easy to research, if you are objective.

The CIA should not have done the 2014 Ukraine coup. We need to get out of New Vietnam. Europe is rich let them have at it.

Totally agree #2. You forgot organ harvesting & the closing of churches. A corrupt Biden administration & uni-party politicians threw gas on the fire with billions of our tax dollars. It’s Europe’s problem. Let them deal with it.

Ukraine is Russia's "bread-basket," as well as being the only pathway to military victory over them. Russia will never relinquish control of Ukraine, as it's their "soft underbelly."
