DOGE workers are revolting against Elon Musk and Donald Trump by signing a dramatic resignation letter vowing not to defund 'public services.' 'We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations,' 21 former DOGE staffers wrote in a letter first reported on by AP. These ex-DOGE workers, who are not part of Musk's personally hired nerd army, said that they refuse to 'dismantle critical public services' being slashed.

These are exactly the kind of long term deep state workers DOGE is looking for to fire.
My understanding is they were part of the previous organization that was renamed to DOGE which was -supposed- to be doing what DOGE is now doing but never did.
Good riddance. Good luck finding a same paying job in the economy Biden left us.

They were probably Biden Democrats, it's good they are gone, because who knows what underhanded crap they might pull to sabotage DOGE. Good riddance.

All 21 of them were Obama-era holdovers, originally hired for maintaining the back end of the Obamacare website. Just a publicity stunt. No loss to DOGE or the US taxpayer.

The Daily Mail is a worse leftist "news" outlet than the NYT, WAPO, MSNBC and other leftist US "news" outlets. I seriously doubt Must was stunned -- but the Daily Mail wishes he was. Also, those 21 were not Musk personal hires. As others have said, they came in under Obama. The Daily Mail is a liar organization.

I didn't see one quote from Musk in this article. How does DM actually know Musk was stunned? He was probably delighted those jackwads quit.

Obama created United States Digital Service (USDS) in 2014. It was meant as a bureaucratic patch job to fix the Obamacare website meltdown.
In 2025 Trump rebranded it DOGE (United States DOGE Service). Keeps the acronym, keeps the funding, but gives it a whole new mission: Find the Receipts.
All these clowns who quit were holdovers hired by Obama.

No... "Expected".
Musk knew who the slackers and operatives were. He knew who was uncomfortable with the work. Now that they are gone, he can get down to business.

Musk was not stunned that’s for sure as he recognizes fully that DC is littered with so-called “Deep State” operatives spread throughout the Federal agencies there.

The title of the article is very misleading. It should read "21 U.S. Digital Service (USDS) workers, quit because they can't stand seeing what they were charged with doing actually being done."

They are still using the 2016 playbook. They think protests, media ampliphied "sad stories" and principled resignations are going to stop what is happening. It is not, and Americans have seen enough to be behind this by a staggering 70%. We have been played. Stolen from, lied to and manipulated to think the federal government is full of civil servants who "had our back". These people don't even work.

Humorous little hit piece from the Daily Mail and a new angle to play by angry Democrats.
- Musk is hardly ‘stunned’ by a coordinated resignation by remote federal trough feeders held over from the Biden regime
- Which public services have been stopped or gutted? Of course they don’t specify. Just throwing out a random scare tactic
- They claim they have to ‘clarify’ what the question ‘what did you do last week?’ means. No wonder people are being fired.
- no one was told to ignore Musk’s email. They were told that their institutions would be doing a much deeper dive on what value they were offering as employees
Inconvenient fact. 75% of the country are fully behind DOGE. Rock on guys and ignore the whining.

These clowns are high among the reasons there is so much graft and corruption in DC. They serve at the pleasure of the president. We as a nation are well served by their absence. Perhaps the fat cutting should have started at DOGE. WHO GUARDS THE GUARDIANS INDEED!

Typical DMUK sensationalist headline, meant to shock people into thinking that Elon's workers quit. The use of this free money is valued on how one defines "public services" which are usually giveaways to layabouts. It's grandma being pushed over the cliff all over again.

///The DM is a cheesey UK tabloid, not a regular newspaper. Known rror its ckbait headlines (it is sold on the street, at newsstands, et.), it patched together articles from other unnamed sources, its photos (which he buys) its celebeity gossip, and its lack of journalistic resposibility to report something that resembles truth or fact. It appeals to a certain not very discriminating mindset that love sensagtionalism and doesn't dig deep.
Musk wasn't stunned and is undoubtedly not worried.
