A group is planning a nationwide economic blackout as a response to the rollback of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives sparked by the federal government. Why It Matters When President Donald Trump reentered office last month, one of his first calls to action was to end several of the DEI initiatives in the federal government. He mandated in an executive order that funds could be frozen for companies that do not comply. He also outlawed any messaging that promotes inclusion-based language. The orders have caused PBS to close its DEI office, while major companies like Amazon, Target and Google

All that commies swearing off using or buying things for a day does is shift their purchases by a couple of days at most. This stunt doesn’t call on consumers to make a sacrifice by actually giving up something, so the threat it poses is a hollow one. Not buying things on a designated day might make people feel better by providing them a chance to vent their anger at “the man”, but the action isn’t going to have any real impact on anything. If they really want to send a “message” they should try not buying anything for several months in a row. See how dedicated they are to the cause then. The effect of a few thousand disaffected losers not buying anything for a day will make absolutely no difference to the economy or the government.

Democrats are anxious to rebuild their party on the heels of President Trump’s victory in November. But they have a major problem as they try to refashion their brand: The money isn’t there. Democratic donors — from bundlers to small dollar donors — say they are still angry about the election results and uninspired by anything their side has put forward since then. (Snip) Much of the consternation among the donor community stems from the unprecedented 2024 election cycle, where many felt misled by the party and former President Biden’s reelection campaign. A federal judge on Friday cleared the way for the Trump administration to pull thousands of U.S. Agency for International Development staffers off the job. U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols removed his temporary block on the effort to remove all but a small fraction of USAID staffers from their posts and give those abroad a 30-day deadline to move back to the U.S. at government expense. His ruling comes in a lawsuit filed by unions on behalf of workers. They say the rush to dismantle the agency had cut off some staffers overseas from emergency communications systems, including some in

Progressives are struggling with recruitment, morale and fundraising as they seek a path forward heading into next year’s midterm elections. While some on the left, such as Justice Democrats, have called for primary challenges to moderate Democrats in 2026, many progressives acknowledge the hurdles and lack of attention they face. Despite a couple of names floated, like former Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) who is believed to be considering another House bid, liberals are more disorganized about their potential challenger roster. They’re also contending with waning donor enthusiasm. All together, these predicaments paint a picture of a left wing in trouble

I’ve written about how the left uses language to (often falsely) shape political and social narratives. Abortion is “health care.” Illegal aliens are “undocumented citizens.” The homeless are the “unhoused,” or recently and more and more ridiculously, “people experiencing homelessness,” while people who have ties to Latin America are “Latinx” (although most Latinos in reality want nothing to do with the term). One the silliest arguments they regularly bring forth, though, is regarding the term “woman”—what does it mean? Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson doesn’t know; meanwhile, many leftists define it as “anyone who identifies as one.” Right. Enter Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D, but you probably already knew that),
