Democrats have cast the Trump administration’s ouster of eight senior FBI leaders as a “purge” and act of “retribution” from a weaponized Justice Department, some likening it to President Nixon’s “Saturday Night Massacre.”
But former colleagues of the terminated “G-men” say this narrative is backward. FBI officials, past and present, have marshaled significant evidence via whistleblower complaints and testimony indicating that several terminated leaders routinely used their offices for partisan purposes.
These include allegations that at least two of the fired officials, Jeffrey Veltri and Dena Perkins, manipulated the security clearance review process to personally and professionally punish conservatives, COVID-19 vaccine skeptics, and Jan. 6 whistleblowers who reported suspected bureau malfeasance,

It’s no secret the rollout of a federal program to expand electric vehicle fast charger access has been, well, rocky.
It just got rockier.
More than $104 million was allocated for new fast EV chargers in New Jersey via the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, or NEVI, program.
To date, the program has resulted in zero chargers for New Jersey. And at the start of February, in one of several executive moves, President Donald Trump announced he was freezing the NEVI program funds.
New guidance has to be issued and states have to be approved in order for new program funds to be disbursed.

A Canadian man faces several charges after federal prosecutors say he used an unmanned drone to photograph sensitive military sites in Brevard, including Patrick Space Force Base, a submarine wharf and a space launch complex at Cape Canaveral Space Force Base.
Xiao Guang Pan — whose Instagram page describes him as photographer and licensed drone pilot — was charged earlier this week with three counts of using an unmanned aircraft to photograph the Brevard-based defense installations without authorization from federal officials. Taking unauthorized photos of defense installations is prohibited by federal law.

When I read about cagey Gazans gaming an immigration program meant to facilitate Ukrainian refugees relocating to the United Kingdom, I thought that was insanity squared.
I mean, no one wants those homicide-happy, white/Anglo-Saxon/Christian/Jew haters plopping down in their hood and then paying for the privilege of supporting their doing so.[snip]
The 'integration, not immigration' crew hasn't done so well throwing the country's doors open.
When and if such a dark time ever descends upon us permanently in the United States, I'll be the one saying, 'Just shoot me.'

Dr. Lawrence Tabak, the former acting director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) who admitted to Congress last year that his agency funded risky gain-of-function virus research in China, abruptly resigned Tuesday, according to multiple reports.
Tabak, the No. 2 official at NIH, did not provide a reason for his departure in a notice to colleagues.

Tabak led the NIH during part of the COVID-19 pandemic and faced scrutiny from congressional Republicans over federal grants provided to Manhattan-based nonprofit EcoHealth Alliance for bat coronavirus research conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China – the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A 12-year-old Indiana girl who is related to Vice President JD Vance has been barred from a spot on a heart transplant list because she’s not been vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu, according to her parents.
Adaline Deal, a distant relative of the VP by marriage through his half-siblings, was born with two rare heart conditions that her family knew would one day require a transplant, her mother Janeen Deal told The Cincinnati Enquirer.
Adaline — who was adopted from China when she was 4 — was treated at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for nearly 10 years, and her parents hoped she would get the transplant there.

The Spectator, whose headlines are lazy and terrible and an embarrassment to a once great publication, had a particularly bad example the other day:
How many more knife attacks can France take?
Well, as noted in the very first sentence of the article, there are currently 120 "knife attacks" every day in France. A generation ago it would have been inconceivable that the French would accept with a collective Gallic shrug 850 "knife attacks" per week.
Yet they do. So would they be able to "take" a thousand per week? Check back with me later this year. Fifteen hundred? Two thousand? That's the way to bet.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) canceled more than $180 million in contracts over 48 hours, including a nearly $170,000 contract for an Anthony Fauci museum exhibit.
"In the past 48 hours, HHS canceled 62 contract [sic] worth $182 million," The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced in a Friday social media post. "These contracts were entirely for administrative expenses – none touched any healthcare programs. This included terminating a $168,000 contract for an Anthony Fauci exhibit at the NIH Museum."

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who should probably ask for a refund from Boston University for leading her astray on an education, slammed Elon Musk as "one of the most unintelligent billionaires" she has ever met.
AOC's comments were part of a 90-minute-long conversation with fans on Instagram.
What really launched New York's most prominent socialist into a flurry of dizzying projection are Musk's ongoing efforts to clean up an out-of-control bureaucracy through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team.
"This dude is probably one of the most unintelligent billionaires I have ever met, or seen, or witnessed," she whinnied.

Two employees of the authority that manages Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport were arrested over their alleged involvement in leaking surveillance footage of last week’s deadly midair aircraft collision to CNN.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) staffers are accused of making an unauthorized copy of records and are facing charges of computer trespass, the agency said Monday.
The legal trouble is tied to the chilling video obtained by CNN last week that offered a horrifying new vantage point in the crash over the Potomac River, ABC News reported.
The Wednesday night collision between a Black Hawk helicopter and an American Airlines passenger jet killed all 67 people on both aircraft.

Interim D.C. U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr. has made a bold move, dismissing about 30 federal prosecutors involved in the Capitol riot cases. This decision, announced on Friday, signals a significant housecleaning of the top prosecutor's office in Washington, D.C., as Martin gears up to purge partisans who weaponized the Justice Department against Joe Biden’s political enemies, including Trump, pro-life activists, and others.
But he’s also taken another bold step, effectively launching an investigation into Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer over comments he made back in March 2020 during a #MyRightMyDecision rally outside the Supreme Court. During the rally, Schumer blatantly threatened Trump-appointed Supreme Court Justices
