A Virginia man, Brad Spafford, 36, was arrested earlier this month after authorities discovered what they claim is the largest stockpile of homemade explosives in FBI history.
Spafford, who reportedly used images of Joe Biden for target practice, is being labeled by federal agents as an “extreme danger to the community.”
During a search of Spafford’s 20-acre property, authorities found over 150 homemade explosive devices, including pipe bombs labeled as “lethal.”

Other than owning a lot of weapons and explosives, what are his crimes? Would he have been labeled a Hero of the Republic had he used Trump pictures for target practice? To my knowledge, defaming "pictures" of a presidential is not a crime.

Biden has killed more people than almost everybody in the country. Leave this guy alone. I have Obama targets, so what?

I might agree that owning a rocket missile could be illegal but whose business is it if I possess a short-barreled rifle? I expect all the charges to eventually be dismissed because the search warrant will be found illegal on that basis. But it will take years and he'll surely lose if the makeup of the Supreme Court shifts to the left.

"Yaaaaaawn..."
So what? Farmers have often had access to explosives. Did he have plans to attack anyone? If I had a dartboard, I'd have Joe's mug on it. Is this one of those crimes where the ATF wrote something up and they've been skating along on Chevron?

I read the article.
Owning a short barreled rifle or explosives (classified as "other" weapons) requires an ATF tax stamp, dating back to the 1930s. $200 stamp per weapon. Will be issued to anyone who doesn't have a criminal background, known mental illness, etc.
The FBI/ATF knows about him because his "friend" turned him in.
Not registering a list of various weapons and having a tax stamp for each one is a pretty serious crime but it is not a terrorism crime even if he has a zillion separate items.
The government isn't making money off this program. It is a way to know who has an interest in unusual weaponry and keep a lid on how much is out there, to a degree.
I do not have any of these "NFA stamp required" weapons but have considered it. Suppressors/silencers require a stamp for dumb reasons and I'd like to get one to lower the volume and save my heating if I'm ever forced to use a weapon at home in a self defense situation.
This registration system is another of those laws that original had a small point but has expanded to cover all sorts of things it shouldn't. Why would reducing the noise level from blowing out my ears to merely extremely loud require registering what is really a hearing protection device?
But registering a few hundred pipe bombs? Uh... technically those might actually be legal, maybe, in some places, but it is very concerning why he'd feel the need for that.
The bit about Biden's face is just a bunch of nonsense.

Were they pipe bombs...or tannerite "reactive targets"?
The difference between an SBR and a Pistol? The furniture has a "Thing that goes up",
A "Go Bag" is Govt recommended for anyone that lives in any area that has "Weather", heavy rains, occasional flooding, snow, hurricanes, tornadoes, straight line winds, ice, power outages, trees that might block roads..and/or...civil unrest, climate people blocking roads,
, etc.

FBI is willing to provide a lot of conclusions --- in an ongoing investigation, and all of which is narrative, not evidence. I will wait for someone with credibility to report.

Stockpiling weapons and ammunition and 'making 50 rounds of ammunition a day' (reloading, which is perfectly legal) - sounds like your run-of-the-mill prepper, complete with (also legal) bugout bag. I suspect some of his 'pipe bombs' (not marked lethal) were smoke bombs. 'Possessing explosive material' - any reloader has to have a stock of gunpowder for that purpose. Stockpiling weapons and ammunition makes you a 'clear and present danger'? Since when? Based on that definition of 'clear and present danger' how many of us reading this story would be considered a clear and present danger by the FBI? He didn't even have 10,000 rounds - a piker!

He makes "50 rounds of ammunition a day"? Heck, I've made 5 times that much in a single session at my loading bench. What's the big deal? So he made a few "explosive devices" - did he blow anything up?
Much ado about nothing.

I have 500 rounds for my AR. It's just for self protection in case the SHTF. Also plenty for my pistols. I am also sure that the ATF would ban all firearms in the country except for themselves and selected LEOS. Thanks to our founders that they were smart enough to include the 2nd amendment to the Constitution although the left keeps trying to get around that by hook or crook. Thanks also that DJT won or we would likely have ended up with an anti-gun SCOTUS.

Charging a fee for a short rifle must be unconstitutional somehow. Other than that, what law did he break. I'd bet there's a Mohamed Mohamed making bombs somewhere else.

Guy sounds crazy.
But the feds do this massive raid and miss a coordinated attack by ISIS that kills plenty on the same day.
All while lying to us that the Isis attack (with Isis flag flying) was not terrorism.

As it turns out, a big pickup truck is more lethal than anything this guy has. They could arrest at least a quarter of the population for harboring dangerous weapons.

This anti-American has been released on bond....and I'm sure he's packing up and moving out to spots unknown......the open border has allowed thousands of terrorist into our country to disrupt and demonstrate against President Trump when he takes office...no wonder there were no demonstrations on November 5th....they were saving their ammunition for January 20th...it's a war of nerves...who will blink first....it's not gonna be President Trump and WE follow his lead....
