New Yorkers were up in arms Monday one day after an illegal Guatemalan immigrant allegedly burned a sleeping straphanger to death aboard a Brooklyn subway train — while bystanders did nothing.
Horrifying video footage of the incident shows at least three gawkers — one of them seen filming the shocking fatal blaze on his phone — and an NYPD cop standing outside the subway car as flames engulfed the unidentified victim after the Sunday morning attack.“Nobody came to her aid,” said Guardian Angels founder and community activist Curtis Sliwa. “There’s no doubt that people don’t want to get involved. It’s the Daniel Penny factor. It’s frozen people.

While this sounds horrible, none of the bystanders knew if this maniac had a gun or knife to attack them with. And yes, the Daniel Penny effect. What a horrible way to die.

Daniel Penny is an outlier. The sad truth is the New Yorkers are far more likely to turn away and not get involved than they are to step in and assist. I've been hearing stories like this ou of New York all of my life, and I'm in my 60's.

Hochul says the subway is safe. But she doesn't ride the subway. Hochul lips move, she lies.

God have mercy on that poor woman. How horrific.
While I have in the past enjoyed many a trip and have a great admiration for the genuine American working and middle class people in the NE of this country, you could not pay me any amount of money to live above the Maison-Dixon line now. Savageries completely excused by the government elite authorities yet reviled by the populace committed by the unlawful and illegal are a daily occurrence there. Wake up sleepers... you are powerful. Stop taking what you have always been given. Honest working Americans deserve better!

New Yorkers are responsible for all the evil their votes have allowed - and those who've led these sheep astray - may they repent before it is too late. Because God's Justice will prevail.

They could have a way bigger police presence if the Top Cops authorized overtime.....Oh...wait...sorry, I just remembered New York Police overtime is only for under-the-covers stakeouts.

The best thing to do to get rid of the "Penny effect" is to get rid of Brag as DA and elect someone who will actually prosecute the criminals, not the innocent.

Guatemalans are going to give the NY Subway system a bad name. The victim was a beautiful White woman with a PH.D. Degree. Definitely Latín America is not sending US their best people to vote for democrats.

What if instead of prosecuting Daniel Penny he had been hailed as the hero he was?
What if courage, truth, and honor were encouraged in our society instead of perversions?
Alvin Bragg (DA of New York) and the people that support his kind bear responsiblity for these type events.
Sickening.

FACE IT, New Yorkers, except Staten Island and parts of Queens, are basically garbage despicable scum! If that were not the case, There would be no Schumer in the Senate, No Hochul in the Governor's seat, No AOC in Congress, No Al Sharpton at all!

Only an idiot would help in NYc.
Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. But you help knowing you will be persecuted by the Democrats.
Heck, they just arrested a shopkeeper who defended himself with a pistol against gun welding thugs shooting up his bodega — for gun possession — despite the fact that some other criminal had abandoned the pistol in the bathroom and the shopkeeper had called the cops to come pick up the abandoned gun, and the cops had not come yet.

They need to throw Alvin Bragg into the same cell with Zapeta. For the rest of their short and brutal lives.

Not one piece of New York scum even tried to put out the fire.
Nor did they try to hold the scum who lit her off.
New York , New York what a wonderful town. The Bronx is up and the Battery's down. The people DIE in a hole in the ground.

Those are typical New Yorkers, numb to everything around them and that includes the NYPD. Daniel Penny was a notable exception.

A song from the sixties describes a similar murder in NYC. Nobody came to the rescue. Phil Ochs sang Outside of a Small Circle of Friends about a murder in the courtyard of a housing project. We can move on from evil, but evil moves on with us.

Why is it that things like this never happen to the ones who make the silly laws and rules that harm us? Because WE pay to protect them, or we pay them so much they don't live where and how normal people live.

Re #2 - And a Texas National Guardsman stood by and filmed the illegals when they rushed the fence down in El Paso or wherever earlier this year - all while his fellow guardsmen were being shoved aside.
I've had a few challenging encounters on the DC/MD/VA metro system over the pst 20 years plus and NO ONE, not even men in military uniform did anything to assist me. This was long before the Penny effect.

NYC is not coming back from this in our lifetime. Stay out, it's a no-go zone. I'm minutes from Manhattan and haven't gone in for three years and never intend on entering this corruption ever again.

The only video I saw was by a young man who was screaming at the sight but the victim was already engulfed in flames when he was drawn there by the fire. Otherwise is was a vacant train car idling as they do there at the end of the line.

When the state makes it a crime for persons to defend themselves, even taking away the means/weapons for doing so, a hive of drones is what gets created and a playground for those who would do the worst to their fellow man.

I saw a cop go by in the video. Not in a hurry but I hope he was looking for a fire extinguisher.
