Let’s face it, there was more than enough stupid to go around this year.
If 2024 taught us anything, it’s that there is no bottom in matters of the politically absurd. Remember, somebody thought it was a good idea for Joe Biden to debate Donald Trump. Fani Willis thought her deadbeat paramour Nathan Wade was worth every dime. And Kristi Noem believed her Old Yeller moment would be endearing. But then again someone in the Trump transition team thought the dog-killing South Dakota governor and close personal friend of Corey Lewandowski would make a fine Homeland Security secretary, so clearly there’s no accounting for taste.
The vicious murder of a woman via immolation on the F train — allegedly by an illegal migrant — has brought New York’s total subway murders to match 2022’s 25-year high, with 10 for the year so far.
That’s terrifying, but seemingly the new normal.
So how does our fearless leader in Albany, Gov. Hochul, react?Well, on Sunday — the very day of the horrific arson-murder — she opted to brag about her supposed progress in reducing subway crime.
“In March, I took action to make our subways safer for the millions of people who take the trains each day,” she tweeted.Now, “crime is going down, and ridership is going up.”

As one of his final acts as president, Joe Biden is commuting the death sentences of 37 of the federal government’s 40 death row inmates, giving them life sentences instead. These 37 men include some of the most violent killers in the United States.In 2019, Brandon Council was sentenced to death for murdering 59-year-old Donna Major and 36-year-old Katie Skeen in 2017 during a South Carolina bank robbery.
