The U.S. Military Academy has apologized for falsely saying President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Pentagon, Peter Hegseth, was never accepted into the school, known as West Point. “A review of our records indicates Peter Hegseth was offered admission to West Point in 1999 but did not attend. An incorrect statement involving Hegseth’s admission to the U.S. Military Academy was released by an employee on Dec. 10, 2024,” a spokesperson for West Point told The Epoch Times in an email. “Upon further review of an archived database, employees realized this statement was in error. Hegseth was offered acceptance to West Point as a prospective member of the Class of 2003.

Hegseth mentioned it. "West Point" feels it necessary to publicly refute it, as though it was a stain on the Academy's reputation. Why such prompt initiative?

Fortunately, Hegseth did not attend the Army's Ministry of Propaganda or he might be just another woke officer pushing the induction of weirdos, freaks and generally useless medal collectors and ladder climbers that we have now. It's not just West Point. I once was involved in a project where Ross Perot brought in his EDS collection of retired Annapolis grads to run it and they were the most useless, time-wasting, ineffective bunch of chair warmers that I have ever seen in one place. The client went out of business shortly after the abysmal failure.

Points to ProPublica for going to Team Hegseth for verification before publishing their false hit piece. But double negative points for the snivellng accusatory tone of the questioning from the reporter that insinuated that Hegseth was lying and assumed that the representative of the Silky Panty Brigade running West Point had told them the truth.

Many years ago, when I was a young Air Force commander, I relied upon one of my subordinates to complete an important task as we prepared for an inspection. He repeatedly assured me that the job had been done, but it hadn't, and we were cited for failure in this area. I was rightfully downgraded on my performance report; it likely cost me at least one promotion in my career. And my bosses were right. It was my responsibility to make sure that the job had been done, and I failed to do it. I wonder if anyone at West Point will pay such a price. Because this was a big failure in a place that demands we will not lie, cheat, or steal nor tolerate those that do.

The legislation would block doctors from being able to prescribe or administer puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, as well as perform mutilating transgender surgeries like mastectomies. The Safeguarding the Overall Protection of Minors (STOP) Act would allow the Department of Health and Human Services to place a minimum $100,000 fine on doctors who do not follow the law.

20 Republican senators are up for re-election in 2026. It is time to shake some of them up because they have forgotten for whom they work. The Republican leadership allowed party senators (the caucus) to vote to impeach Trump in 2021. Seven did. While some of the names in leadership have changed the attitude remains the same as many Republican senators try to block Trump’s appointees to the Cabinet. Given that most Republican senators represent one of the 31 states that went for Trump, that is a big FU to the voters.
