Former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney issued a statement Wednesday morning commenting on Tuesday's election results, giving Donald Trump a landslide win.[snip]“All Americans are bound, whether we like the outcome or not, to accept the results of our elections,”[snip]“We now have a special responsibility, as citizens of the greatest nation on earth, to do everything we can to support and defend our Constitution, preserve the rule of law, and ensure that our institutions hold over these coming four years. Citizens across this country, our courts, members of the press and those serving in our federal, state and local governments must now be the guardrails of democracy."

She couldn’t even deliver a dozen votes in her home state, Liz, you are now officially irrelevant. You’re lucky that Trump is an inherently decent man because he won’t do to you what you tried to do to him.

Liz Cheney: "We now have a special responsibility, as citizens of the greatest nation on earth, to do everything we can to support and defend our Constitution, preserve the rule of law". Liz Cheney, queen of the Jan. 6th tribunals now wants to follow the rule of law after railroading scores of American citizens for the crime of showing up at the capitol to protest. What a hypocrite this dirtbag is.

And, our official form of government is a constitutional (representative) republic, not a democracy. Each state is also a constitutional republic. We use democratic means to elect our federal, state and local representatives. However, they are to govern according to the covenant established with the people, a federal or state Constitution. Our founding father James Madison had a good bit to say about democracies in the Federalist Papers (#10 and I think 55), none of it good.
I think we need to become reacquainted with our history and our Constitution to know more than just the First and Second Amendments. :-)

#12 - Seems to be a lot of contrition this morning. Even the stooges at Morning Joke were pretty accepting of what happened. This is the whipping that Trump wanted and was very much needed.

Hello, may I speak with Liz Cheney? Hi Liz, I'm from the government and I'm here to help.
Which agency you ask? Today, the irs we need money to fund the government, tomorrow the sec to check your family's inside trades, next week the fec - just checking for illegal donation bundling, and after that the fbi, cia, doj and any other 3 letter make work agencies you can name. We will be visiting Nancy and Chuck, Schiff and Joe, Raskin and Hunter/Jill/James Biden. So please get comfortable and call as many lawyers that will bleed you dry, or just as many as you can afford on the millions you made on your prior government salary. We just love our jobs!

"members of the press and those serving in our federal, state and local governments must now be the guardrails of democracy." Really Liz? The (legacy) media did nothing but lie, exaggerate and impugn Trump's character, etc. for 8 years now. So much for being neutral observers. As for local, state and federal governments - you mean the Deep State of unelected bureaucrats who tried to remove his name from the ballot in several states, spun up garbage charges of RICO violations, etc to either bankrupt him or put him in prison - not so much guardrails as obstacles to the Constitutional process.

Nobody with a brain accepts or believes the TDS crowd want “unity.” The meaningful statements about unifying a nation come from the newly-elected LEADER and WINNER of this historic election. Hey Liz, and President-elect Trump ALREADY did that last night!

I disagree with Joe Concha that this was a call for unity of the nation. It sounded, to me, more like a call to unity of all forces opposing Trump to do everything they can to thwart his efforts and continue strongly in theirs, as “ guardrails of democracy”.
