‘Frustrated’ Michelle Obama worries
US will ‘blow this opportunity’ during
first campaign trail appearance for Kamala Harris

A “frustrated” Michelle Obama attacked Donald Trump during her first campaign trail appearance for Kamala Harris, worrying that the US “will blow this opportunity to finally turn the page on the ugliness” by re-electing the former president. The former first lady did not shy away from slamming the 45th president and his supporters alike during an impassioned speech at Harris’ rally in Kalamazoo, Mich. — her first time stumping for the vice president since the Democratic National Convention in August. Trump supporters and undecided voters hold Harris to a high and unfair double standard while letting the ex-commander in chief coast with little criticism, Obama claimed.

She's frustrated? She has $70 in the bank. It is the end of the month. Bills are due. My husband and I are retired. SS both have a modest pension and some investment. My husband works part time but has been told they might close at the end of the year. Our medicare is going up thanks to the current administration, the SS raise will not cover the medicare increase, utilities are killing us and we don't need to go into detail about what we are encountering at the grocery. Plus even though we paid off our house almost 20 years ago we have property taxes due. No vacations, long weekends, going anywhere. Getting a burger and fries at a fast food joint practically takes a loan. It boils down to "Am I better off today than I was 4 years ago? Is the world in a better place? Do I feel safe? Am I worried about being run over by ILLEGALS? Who is going to get us back to a better place?" No matter what happens your bank account will ensure you will be just fine. That's nice for you. FKH is an airhead. She cannot answer the simplest question and she says that FJB is mentally capable to finish his term. So call me what you want I don't care. It has absolutely nothing to do with her gender or color. It's pretty sad when I actually feel that I could live better if I snuck into the country from Mexico.

The gall when she and Barak own FOUR -yes FOUR- mega multi million dollar mansions- DC, Martha's Vineyard, Chicago and Hawaii. Two on the ocean despite purported climate change. And what about Obama's 6'3" chef on MV that "drowned in 5' of water? The family was all on the Island at the time. Daughters both beat a path to the airport early the following morning. Senator JD Vance (R-OH) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that when former President Donald Trump was speaking about “far-left lunatics who were rioting” when he said the military should go after the “enemy within.” Vance said, “We’re not talking about the public policy. Can we talk about how Americans can’t afford groceries? Can we talk about how Americans can’t afford the cost of housing? Can we talk about that a lot of people out there and Erie, Pennsylvania, they’re the ones who suffer and die when people like Mark Esper and Mark Milley don’t obey the commander in chief’s orders.”

In the early days of this column, I confessed that T.S. Eliot is always with me. His words frequently rise to the surface of my mind. They are particularly powerful as a counter to despair—which is, in contemporary America, rife. As its citizenry has been preparing to exercise its right to vote next week, we have been warned that—regardless of the result—everything, everywhere is doomed: America’s education system, its birth rate, the planet, the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, democracy itself.

Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, recently called Donald Trump a “fascist to the core” and “a wannabe dictator.” That such a senior military leader would feel comfortable saying this about his former boss is remarkable given that similar statements by officers have, in the past, resulted in severe punishment. The U.S. Constitution makes the president—the only democratically elected leader in the chain of command—commander in chief. Military leaders serving under the president owe him both deference and respect, regardless of whether their policy preferences differ.

I wonder if it ever dawns on all those well-paid, city-bred campaign consultants who come in to states like Montana, that nobody is listening anymore? Oh, sure. There are the political junkies, left and right, who thrive on the junk food of campaign advertising, doused with the vinegar of vitriol. But for most folks, the noise of the election season has reached a decibel level that so numbs the ears, that the messages are no longer getting through. We just want to be left alone to contemplate real ideas and real truths.

Michelle Obama came out to support Kamala Harris during an event in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Saturday. She hasn't done much for Harris; she hasn't been out there like her husband. This is her first campaign appearance apart from the DNC in August, and we're almost at the election. She scarcely could have done less. But to be fair, surrogates Barack Obama and Bill Clinton haven't been doing well for Kamala either. They seem to be accidentally throwing her under the bus and stepping in it more than helping her. Barack basically attacked black men for not being sufficiently supportive of her and suggested they were misogynistic.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama has hit the campaign trail for Vice President Kamala Harris — but critics are panning her 11th-hour sales pitch as “racist” and “sexist” and saying that her words reveal more about her than they do about Harris. Obama ignored the possibility that Harris — who catapulted to the top of the Democratic ticket on the tidal wave of President Joe Biden’s ouster from the race — was simply a weak and unlikable candidate, and instead argued that the voters were the only possible weak link in the chain. That, she claimed, was the result of racism and sexism in the electorate.
