Senators from both parties said Thursday that they were “appalled” by the security failures that led to the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump July 13 and want more information from the Department of Homeland Security ahead of an expected report on the near-tragedy.[Snip] “I think the American people will be shocked, astonished and appalled by what we will report to them about the failures of the Secret Service in this assassination attempt of a former president,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), who chairs the panel’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

Dont waste your time. All the three digit agencies will invoke their 4th amendment right against self incrimination. Funny how they only care about the constitution when it benefits them.

I hate to over simplify but in real life they put the chain of command on the dock and pin one or more tails on one or more donkeys and fire then prosecute.
No one was in charge? Ok just go by pay rate. Start at the top and fire/prosecute your way down.

The agencies will trot out the tried and true excuse - “It’s an ongoing investigation and we can’t comment”.

They were appalled at Benghazi, the stupidity of intelligence agencies on 9/11 too. I have not heard anybody do anything other than same script every single time Federal employees fail at the job whether people are hurt or killed. Washington D.C. just upset Trump is not in the ground.

Maybe just go with the Comic Sans font in the coming, sternly worded letter.

Instead of demanding answers why don't they demand Mayorkas be fired?

Yet another glaring example, one of thousands I'm sure, of all government bureaucrat agencies/personnel run amok. . .and why we need President Trump for his second term. May it please The L-rd, and set America's future back on her foundations for years to come.
I remember stolen valor Blumenthal. Not with any respect.

You hear the name Mayorkas, bidet, cackling camel, no one will be shocked. From day one when this incompetent POS came into office, every single thing he touched he f'd up as did the cackling nobody moron camel cow.
Oh, the first dame that day had 11 details while Trump had 3. His team had requested more but the ugly Cheat trash, close friends with both occasional residents of the WH denied the request. Ditto when Kennedy asked for more security petty dirt bag bidet denied it. After all, Kennedy's uncle had been killed and his father. Nothing to see here for the petty little drip called bidet.

OK, "Senators for both parties". There is an article of impeachment against Mayorkas.
Act on it.

The shooter's dead body may have been shot by SS after he got the job done, but I read that the initial shot was taken by a local swat team and not SS.

The best info is that they failed. The Secret Service sent their JV team to Butler Pennsylvania and the performance was pathetic. Every investigator and military-trained sniper who visited the site agrees that it was a major clustercluck.

Thank goodness! It's such a comfort that our Senators are "appalled". s/
They are great at expressing emotion but they have zero will to take any type of action. To me, that is what is TRULY appalling.
Lip service doesn't cut it, MR. Blumenthal. What may you be hiding or who are you protecting?
