Pre-eminent atheist Richard Dawkins said on Easter Sunday that he identifies as a “cultural Christian” and that he prefers to live in a country based on Christian principles and would not want the UK to become an Islamic nation.
Emeritus fellow of New College, Oxford and God Delusion author Richard Dawkins said that he identifies with Christian society and that he would choose it over other countries based around other faiths, namely Islamic nations.
Speaking to LBC Radio’s Rachel Johnson — the sister of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson — Dawkins said on Sunday that he was “slightly horrified” that Ramadan lights were put up in London instead of Easter ones.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. Dawkins is a thinker - he may become a theist first and then a Christian. He is right about Christian principles. It was Christian monks after the fall of the Roman Empire who copied manuscripts and kept the flame of learning alive when the barbarians were sacking and looting.

Although I don’t think he’s a Christian (as in “Christ follower”.). He’s closer than 99% of or leaders/betters.
God DOES work in mysterious ways. It would be wonderful if Mr Dawkins would come to know the God of the universe.

Wow
Where do you start and stop with this one?
He likes everything about Christain cultural accomplishments, but believes in nothing about it.
I was in grade school when a different religion started hijacking airplanes. With the Munich Olympics, it was pretty obvious that alternative to Christianity was not going to end well.
And this genius is just now figuring that out in 2024.

That's quite an admission. He publicly states there are tremendous benefits to having a society based on Christian principles. Some atheists want Christianity destroyed but are perpetually frustrated by what would replace it. Even infamous atheist Madelyn Murray O'Hair admitted it was hard to unify people around something you don't believe.

Not just Christian-based - any sane person would choose ANY principled society over islam: Buddhist, Shinto, Taoist, Hindu...

I am, first of all, thankful for Dawkins speaking what should be obvious to any thinking person - the distinctions between Christianity and Islam which make it beneficial even for those who are not believers. He is absolutely correct, and I appreciate him not doing what most liberals do - pretend they are basically the same and perpetuate the ridiculous idea that Islam has made positive contributions to any society.
Beyond that, we can't know if Mr. Dawkins will ever become a Christian, but it is worth remembering that history is replete with well-educated, thoughtful, and inquisitive atheists who became Christians, including those, like the brilliant C.S. Lewis who became a Christian once he set out to disprove it. ;)

There was one Damascus Road moment in history; perhaps the LORD is preparing for another one.

Hooooooray! Dawkins recognizes culture as the operant mechanism of civilization. Islam, driven by Quran, and lacking any reformation or protestant variation, is stuck in the 8th century and muslim cultures with it.

But this is the problem. You non-religious and out and out atheists have enjoyed the benefits of a Christian world you took no part in and even at times despised. That is a world where rule of law is upheld, no man whether king or tyrant or billionaire or celebrity is above the law. You have benefitted from a world that values PEACE. You have benefitted from a world of tolerance and not persecution or oppressions. You have benefitted from a world that cares for the widows and orphans, that feeds the hungry, clothes the naked, gives shelter to the homeless. Obviously not perfectly but we try. This is all due to Christianity.
BUT you have turned your backs on the very thing that created this rather splendid caring world... and nature abhors a vacuum. That hole will be filled. And now you are seeing what it will be filled by.. Islam. And you will not like the world that change brings forth. Maybe you should have valued the religion that gave you such a lovely world instead of maligning it, hating it, rubbing it out of existence for selfish and vain reasons.

Conservative Jewish commentator Dennis Prager often says he appreciates living in America's Christian culture, the most tolerant and religiously hospitable people in the world. He also enjoys the music, color, and festivities of the Christmas season.

One religion says, 'love thy neighbor'. The other religion says, 'kill they neighbor'. Which one would you choose?
