Exploding the Myths of "Green" Energy

American Experiment’s Isaac Orr and Mitch Rolling tell you what you need to know to respond to ill-informed advocates for “green” energy. There is much more at the link, but here is an overview: 1. Renewables can’t survive on their own The renewable energy industry is a subsidy-based industry, as wind and solar are largely dependent on lucrative state and federal subsidies. However, renewable advocates justify these perpetual subsidies by claiming thermal generators receive more subsidies than wind and solar. This assertion is not based on reality…. *** In 2022, wind and solar generators received three and eighteen times more subsidies per MWh, respectively, than natural gas, coal, and nuclear generators combined.

Generally if you see or hear the word "Green" applied to something and it means something other than color it is a scam. The blight of windmills and solar panels on the earth is anything but "green." They are unnatural and ugly. The windmills and concentrated solar farms are bird and bat killers.

A co-worker of mine lives in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and I asked her the other day how the weather was for her, the fires out in the Panhandle, etc. And she just blew up about all the turbines out near Amarillo. I told her I haven't driven through that part of Texas in about 30 years and she was - you wouldn't recognize with all those ugly turbines; half are spinning and the other half are not and each one has an engine on it to control the speed of spinning blades - ands how is that green? She hopes they all burn down. And then I asked how the heck did Texas state utility commission or whatever it is go all green? She said it started under George Bush as Governor, followed by Perry and now Abbott. She was not very happy about any of it - sick of being told every year, especially during the summer months: cut back on your electricity during the day, etc. And she said they have a new coal fired power plant near her - all the best technology and they won't "turn it on" because, well, it's coal.

On a recent trip home from PA, we passed through an area with perhaps a dozen windmills perched on a mountain ridge. None were spinning.

Renewables are the Affirmative Action of energy sources: can't make it on their own, and forced upon both the unwitting and the unwilling. But it makes the Elite feel good....and richer. To be fair, many of those who make it through AA would have made it anyway...but will never know.

This engineer started studying solar and wind energy when the "energy crisis' of 1973, caused by an Arab embargo to increase their profits, made the price of fuels jump dramatically. I studied Solar Energy Technology under Dr. Farber at the University of Florida, learning to design and build various kinds of the most practical solar energy systems, small home domestic water heating units, which are and were practical in climates with a lot of sun, especially if they don't freeze. Solar photovoltaic cells were still barely beyond lab curiosities, with only NASA able to afford them for satellites. By the middle 90s I could afford used, surplus solar panels, salvaged from a California tax boondoggle, so thanks to the foolish taxpayers of California, I was able to afford a few, small, used panels for my remote cabin in the Colorado mountains. I designed and built a solar electric system, originally capable of pumping water up about six feet from a cistern, and a few flourescent lights. That system has been expanded several times as American made solar panels became more affordable in the 20-teens. And yet, in a very sunny southern Colorado mountain location, it is barely practical for this engineer who designed, built and maintains it for free, and with very, very limited electrical power requirements. The major energy is handled the RELIABLE and normal way with propane hot water, cooking and refrigerator, and a wood stove for heating. The cistern is filled from a new well -- but the solar is woefully inadequate for pumping from the well to the cistern, that is handled by a gasoline powered generator a few times a year. "Green energy" is extremely expensive, very intermittent, and very unrealiable. It can NEVER replace normal coal, gas and oil for real power, other than in remote areas with very limited power demands. The ecocrazie's dream of 'cheap, plentiful green power' is pure techno-fantasy and will never happen.

The Biden administration on Wednesday quietly issued yet another sanctions waiver to Iran, giving the terrorist regime access to as much as $10 billion in frozen assets. When Presidentish Joe Biden showed similar largess in September of last year, he promised that the money — "merely" $6 billion that time — could "only be spent on humanitarian purposes." Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said his government would spend the money however they damn well pleased, and then did. It was less than two months ago when three American servicemembers were killed and another three dozen wounded in a drone attack by Iran-backed terrorists on a U.S. observation post in Jordan.

I have been pretty hard on clueless Army Secretary Christine Wormuth during the year and a half I've been scribbling here. When you see her as the ballerina atop the melting, gooey, sticky sundae that is the current state of the United States Army itself, you realize the decline is thanks to the intrepid leadership of decades of Milleys and Austins in the upper echelons. Wormuth didn't build the failing base her wokeness happily pirouettes on. She's just making sure there's enough syrup running down the sides to thoroughly cover the formerly solid underpinnings an increasingly corporate Army brain trust had already started melting.

One of the most ridiculous and offensive things about "transwomen" and drag queens is that many of them exist as parodies of women, save for those few who are failed male athletes who are in it to steal the glory of victory from actual women. Dylan Mulvaney is the apotheosis of this, and his new music video captures the distorted view of womanhood that is being pushed out by the Queer community. (X) This sort of parodic behavior--the embrace of the worst stereotypes of womanhood--is a natural consequence of men who are attracted to the idea of becoming women in the first place.

Special counsel Robert Hur corrected Democratic Washington Rep. Pramila Jayapal at a Tuesday hearing when she said his report exonerated President Joe Biden for his handling of classified documents. Hur issued his report in February on Biden’s handling of classified documents, deciding not to pursue charges against the president because he would be unlikely to get a conviction. Jayapal asserted Hur’s report exonerated Biden, but the special counsel disputed her statement. “This lengthy, expensive, and independent investigation resulted in a complete exoneration of President Joe Biden,” Jayapal said. “For every document you discussed in your report, you found insufficient evidence that the president violated any laws about possession or retention

New evidence suggests that the FBI purposefully tolerated and encouraged political violence ahead of the 2020 presidential election so as to target perceived domestic extremists for arrest. The evidence includes “[t]housands of pages of internal FBI reports and hundreds of hours of undercover recordings” that were obtained by The Intercept, a “progressive” news source. “The secret files offer an extraordinary view inside a high-profile domestic terrorism investigation, revealing in stark relief how federal agents have turned the war on terror inward, using informant-led stings to chase after potential domestic extremists,” The Intercept reported last Wednesday.

Biden delivered an impromptu address to the nation that managed to make things worse for him. Joe Biden angrily defended his memory in his unplanned address and attacked Special Counsel Robert Hur for bringing up Beau during his interview during the investigation. There’s a general consensus on the Right. Biden’s State of the Union address was a nasty campaign speech. Among establishment shills, though, comes predictable silliness. Bill Scher at the Washington Monthly claimed that Joe’s rant was the “fiercest” such speech in history. Biden is at peak warrior, suggested Scher. Joe proved that “age is nothing but a number.” Never mind all the contrary public evidence. President Biden’s animus against Israel was patent in his State of the Union Address this past Thursday evening. The White House has posted the text of his remarks as given here. JNS editor Jonathan Tobin sets forth a rounded view of “the moral failure” Biden’s remarks on Israel. Tobin separately addresses and elaborates on Biden’s demands on Israel, the floating harbor for Hamas, the two-state final solution, the lack of any statement on the explosion of anti-Semitism in the United States, and the the appeasement of Israel haters. We have noted these deficiencies in our own way, but nothing said here does justice to the points that Tobin makes.

Biden has never made a secret of his hatred for Bibi Netanyahu (and it’s easy to see why a stupid, draft-dodging man would hate an intelligent, accomplished warrior). Still, he’s now taking that hatred to new levels as he actively works to interfere in Israeli politics. For decades, leftists told us that it was morally wrong to try to affect a nation’s internal politics, but that doesn’t apply when the nation is a liberal democratic ally…and the world’s only Jewish state. The New York Intelligencer reported on sources saying that Biden intends to overthrow Netanyahu, the democratically elected president of a U.S. ally (emphasis mine):
