Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) said she was “proud” to vote “uncommitted” in the Michigan primary Tuesday, casting a protest vote against President Biden amid frustration over the war in Gaza. “I was proud today to walk in and pull a Democratic ballot and vote uncommitted. We must protect our democracy. We must make sure that our government is about us, about the people,” Tlaib said in a video shared by the Listen to Michigan campaign, calling for the protest vote. “When 74 percent of Democrats in Michigan support a cease-fire, yet President Biden is not hearing us, this is the

Tlaib should thank her lucky stars that she lives in America and not the God forsaken place her relatives came from in Africa. You'd think she would be grateful for the opportunities she has had in the US: to gain an education and serve freely in democratic institutions. Instead she never misses the chance to criticize the U.S. and promote a radical agenda. She disgusts me. Her leftist politics do not belong here. And neither does she.

Tlaib cheated her way into the US and won her Congressional seat by others who voted on the basis of culture and skin color. We can thank Clinton for having allowed an overwhelming number of her fellow Somalians to be planted in a single Michigan 'colony' instead of being scattered across the US to actually learn what being American is supposed to mean. So if she thinks voting 'PRESENT' is something to brag about it simply shows she hasn't learned anything since she immigrated.

I stand corrected on her origins. Her parents were Palestinian immigrants. She is a native born American. Nevertheless she seems to owe greater allegiance to Middle Eastern interests than American interests. She could help the Palestinian cause and Middle East peace by having constructive suggestions and sensible solutions rather than being a bomb thrower. What a shame!!!

If I hear one more person yapping about “saving democracy” I think I’ll scream. My neighbor yesterday started in on “our democracy” and I had to remind her that we are a representative republic and that democracy is basically mob rule - I told her the infamous definition of democracy being two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for dinner…. It wouldn’t be wolf!

Macy's on Tuesday said it plans to close roughly 150 underperforming stores over the next three years, the struggling retailer's latest effort to energize its business as it seeks to fend off a proposed takeover by activist investors. The department store chain said it plans to focus on expanding its luxury brands, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury. Macy's will shutter 50 stores over the next year. Overall, the restructuring plan will leave Macy's with 350 outlets. The announcement of the store closures comes after Macy's last month rejected a $5.8 billion takeover offer from investing firm Arkhouse Management and its partner Brigade

DOVER, Del. -- Laws allowing early voting and permanent absentee status violate Delaware's constitution and are invalid, a judge ruled in a lawsuit brought by a state elections inspector and a Republican lawmaker. The laws are “inconsistent with our constitution and therefore cannot stand," Superior Court Judge Mark Conner declared in a ruling late Friday. Elections inspector Michael Mennella and Senate Minority Leader Gerald Hocker showed by “clear and convincing evidence” that the laws were unconstitutional, the judge said. Friday's ruling follows a 2022 state Supreme Court decision that laws allowing universal voting by mail and Election Day registration were

The former governor fared even better when Hogan was matched against Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks 52%-29%. SAN DIEGO — The migrant community in shelters in Tijuana is worried over the possibility that Donald Trump could win the presidential election in November, according to José María García Lara, director of the Juventud 2000 shelter. García Lara says asylum seekers fear that migrating to the U.S. will become almost impossible with Trump in the White House. “The community thinks the moment he wins the presidency, the doors will close,” he said. García Lara recalls a time in 2018 when Trump took measures to return Central American migrants to their respective countries to keep them from coming to the

A California lawmaker has proposed an ambitious plan to raise the minimum wage to $50 per hour. Democratic Representative Barbara Lee argued that, due to the affordability crisis in the San Francisco Bay Area, a family of four needs at least $127,000 to survive. Lee's proposal means that minimum wage workers would earn more than $100,000 per year. She made these comments while debating with Reps Adam Schiff (D-CA), Katie Porter (D-CA) and Republican Steve Garvey. Schiff and Porter have both called for the minimum wage to be increased to at least $20 an hour. However, Garvey has resisted raising

Inflation ran hotter in January than had been forecast by economists, signaling that higher prices remain sticky and complicating the Federal Reserve's decision about when to begin cutting its benchmark rate. As with inflation last month, higher housing and food prices were the big drivers. Consumer prices rose 3.1% in January from a year earlier, the government said on Tuesday. Economists had expected January prices to rise at a 2.9% pace from a year ago, according to FactSet. Even so, the pace reflected an improvement from December, when inflation rose at an annual rate of 3.4%. The January inflation data

As Denver faces a budget crisis due to 40,000 illegal immigrants arriving in the last year, the city is warning hourly workers that they may be furloughed, while also considering hiring illegal immigrants to work for the city, The Daily Wire has learned. A spokeswoman for Denver mayor Mike Johnston told The Daily Wire that the budget crisis was caused by illegal immigrants being unable to work, causing them to be a drain on taxpayer dollars. The idea was to solve that by having them work directly for the city, she said. She said that a full-time salary funded by taxpayers was “not necessarily” more costly than social services.

He continues to be fit for duty and fully executes all of his responsibilities without any exemptions or accommodations,” O’Connor wrote.
