Iranian-backed militias have attacked American installations and forces in Syria, Iraq, and Jordan some 170 times. Ostensibly, these terrorist groups claim they are hitting U.S. forces to coerce America into dropping its support of Israel and demanding a cease-fire in the Gaza war. In reality, these satellite terrorists are being directed in a larger effort by Iran to pry the U.S. out of the Middle East, in the manner of the 1983 Marine barracks bombing. That way, Iran will be free to fulfill its old dream of becoming a nuclear shield for a new Shiite/Persian terrorist axis

And yet a murderer gained entrance to a building where a study session for an upcoming exam was taking place. The shooter killed two students and injured 11 others.
He shouted something but the police refuse to say what those words were. One student came face to face with the shooter but his description, if he gave one, has not been revealed.
Within a few hours, Providence police said they had arrested a “person of interest,”

Good news: five years after George Floyd’s death, and four years after the civil rights dumpster fire trial that Judge Peter Cahill oversaw—a trial that led to the convictions of Officers Derek Chauvin, Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and J. Alexander Kueng—there is finally a serious, well-constructed challenge to the verdicts in those cases. Attorney Greg Joseph has filed an appeal that directly confronts what he argues were grave judicial and prosecutorial abuses, as well as violations of the officers’ civil rights. One can only hope that justice will be served.

The past week has seen quite an uproar over the suggestion by Kommander Kelly and his Kosmic Krew that military personnel should decide for themselves what orders from the president of the United States they will choose to obey. It’s been rumored that Kelly is under investigation by the Department of the Navy (does anyone know if the Navy Department became separate after the War Department was reestablished, as it was in days gone by?) They should throw the book at him. He’s an officer, and he knows better. What hasn’t come up, though, is that this is a direct result of the noxious actions of Mark Milley

Once the Nobel Peace Prize is announced, it can’t be revoked, transferred or shared with others, the Norwegian Nobel Institute said in a short statement on Friday.
“The decision is final and stands for all time,” it said.
The statement comes after Machado said she’d like to give or share the prize with Trump, who oversaw the successful U.S. operation to capture authoritarian Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro. He is facing drug trafficking charges in New York.
