After Hunter Biden fled his own contempt hearing Wednesday morning (as Nick Arama covered here), reporters swarmed him to ask questions. One reporter who's known for following Democrats to ask them tough questions is Fox Business' Hillary Vaughn, and she didn't disappoint on this occasion either. She had the following exchange with Hunter Biden:VAUGHN: Why did you put your dad on speakerphone with your business partners if he ahd no involvement in your business?
BIDEN: Do you have a dad? Does he call you?
VAUGHN: Yes.BIDEN: Do you answer the phone?
VAUGHN: Yes.
BIDEN: Okay.
VAUGHN: But why did you need to talk to him during business meetings

Over the past year, we have cataloged the foibles, foul-ups, and facts-averse finagling seen in the press, and with the flip of the calendar, we recognize and reward the best (worst) examples in journalism from 2023. For this inauspicious honor, we have created The Golden Remington Trophy, a nod to days past when reporters would grind out work, burn shoe leather chasing stories, and journalism ethics still existed. For this final iteration, we present The Remmy – our statue of the classic typewriter, encased in luxurious repurposed 8-karat gold — to select examples of exemplary journalistic sub-excellence found throughout 2023. These are randomly ordered, but the big prize is

Former President Donald Trump’s net favorability remains superior to President Joe Biden’s, Morning Consult found Tuesday, an extraordinary finding amid a bevy of legal onslaughts against Trump.
The polling represents the tenth week in a row that Trump ranked more popular than Biden. The survey found Trump’s net favorability was four points greater than Biden’s:
Biden: negative 9 points -
Trump: negative 5 points (Snip) The poll sampled 1,996 voters from January 4-6 with a two point margin of error.
Since Biden became president, four indictments hit Trump: county court in Manhattan, New York; federal court in Miami, Florida; federal court in Washington, D.C.; and

A former girlfriend of disgraced New Jersey senator Bob Menendez was accused by Virginia Giuffre of participating in orgies with her and Jeffrey Epstein, newly-unsealed court documents reveal.
Gwendolyn Beck, now 65, ran for Congress in 2014 as an independent representing Arlington, Virginia, but had long been known as an associate of Epstein's.
She was photographed in 1995 with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell at Mar-a-Lago in 1995, and five years later, was back at Mar-a-Lago with Prince Andrew and Melania Knauss, Donald Trump's girlfriend.

Joe Biden has talked about climate change endlessly since taking office, but a new survey shows that most voters in swing states do not care about the issue at all.
This would only be surprising to the left, but most people are not thinking about supposed climate change when they’re struggling to pay for basic items like food, heating energy and gas for their cars.
Besides the economy, people across the country are also deeply concerned about issues like crime and the mess Biden has made at the southern border.

Ahead of a thunderstorm Tuesday evening, New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) is moving nearly 2,000 border crossers and illegal aliens from Floyd Bennett Field into a Brooklyn high school’s gymnasium — forcing students into virtual classes.
On Tuesday, Adams announced that the border crossers and illegal aliens would be moved from Floyd Bennett Field, where they have been staying, to the gym at James Madison High School in the Midwood neighborhood of Brooklyn.
School faculty were told to take important items with them from their classrooms and offices when they left campus on Tuesday.
As a result, James Madison High School Principal Jodie Cohen notified parents, students, and faculty that

After the Colorado Supreme Court ruled 4-3 last month to kick former and potentially future President Donald Trump off the ballot, which was then appealed, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to take up the case. Many legal experts, like Alan Dershowitz, are confident that the Court will find in favor of Trump, although it remains a question as to if it will be unanimous. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), however, offered up an idea as to how the Court could come to such a ruling during Monday's episode of "The Verdict." As the senator explained to co-host Ben Ferguson, matters for the Court to address include both whether or not

Florida Governor's Ron DeSantis crucial pitch to Iowa voters was derailed by climate change activists chanting 'no more oil money' on Tuesday night.
The Republican hopeful was fielding the final questions from Fox News hosts Brett Baier and Martha MacCallum when the protesters sparked chaos by jumping up, waving banners and shouting.
Security removed the hecklers after one managed to get on stage as DeSantis said: 'You live and you learn with these people.' 'Well, you guys, that was a mistake.' he told the demonstrators as they were escorted away. 'You guys didn't get that one right'.
At least one of them was wearing a shirt from the 'Sunrise Movement',

Tens of thousands of Chinese nationals have been stopped by law enforcement after crossing over the southern U.S. border from Mexico.
The shocking trend comes at a time when the U.S. is experiencing increasing tension with the communist country. In just 11 months, 31,000 Chinese nations were stopped by law enforcement, a CNN report highlights. According to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol data, the U.S. would typically only see around 1,500 Chinese nationals in a given year over the previous decade.
