Presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis has announced his intent to pardon Donald Trump should he be convicted on any of the dozens of charges he faces.
The Florida Governor made the declaration Friday when confronted by a reporter in Jasper County. DeSantis told NBC News he had 'already [promised a Trump pardon] long ago.'
He then compared the situation to the one seen nearly a half-century ago between Richard Nixon and replacement Gerald Ford - who pardoned his predecessor in 1974 for crimes he may have committed to serve the country’s best interests.

I like him less every time he opens his mouth. That was just his effort to keep Trump's indictments before the voters.

So...what crime(s) has Donald John Trump ever been charged with???
And why would he need a pardon before he is even been indicted???
Is this how the legal system works now-persecution before prosecution-before execution...

This should not be an issue. President Trump has done nothing to deserve the way the rats are treating him. I do wish the courts would throw out every charge and look hard at the folks trying to keep him off the ballot...

Sorta a nice concept.....except that you have to be very dumb or very badly informed to imagine that Trump could be convicted of anything that wouldn't be tossed by the first honest judge that it went in front of.

There is no comparison between Nixon and Trump. Besides a pardon is used when a crime has been committed. Not only is there no crime here on Trump's part but it has been committed by the persecutors.

A sign he knows his chances are close to zero. Attempting anything to make him significant again.

Ronnie it was really stupid to allow your ego - - and your wife - - to convince you to run.
And now that your campaign has crashed and burned - - you should concede defeat - - enthusiastically endorse President Trump - - and go back to Florida.
But - - given the size of your ego - - and your nagging wife - - you probably won't do any of those smart things.

If the uniparty can manage to get PDT ousted as the presidential candidate for the Republican party and get Nikki or DeSantis installed, they wouldn't have to worry about replacing biden or his loss to either would be no big deal. It would be a win for them.

MAGA base believes 2 things: an election was actually stolen in this country, and President Trump was a victim of political assassination via false allegations and lawfare.
By denying those issues exist DeSantis is damaging his connection to the base and destroying his viability to be elected.

I know that wishing does no good, but I wish Ron DeSantis had been the man that I thought he was when he became Governor of Florida. He isn’t. But, it’s still painful to see him prove it more clearly the longer he stays in this race.
What a sad waste.

Ron, fire your advisors. The appropriate response should have been: "ask me when he is convicted of something."

Desantis would make a good president, but I don’t think he’s going to get the chance due to the terrible campaign he’s been running. He should have waited 4 years to run. I still like him for VP, but he burned his bridges with Trump I’m afraid.
